Matt Rhule won’t be the coach. Gotta focus on what matters most.
-
This probably isn’t the way others look at this, but here’s my take: We will hire Wilks, or someone else. And Wilks, or someone else won’t be Matt Rhule. Therefore I will be excited for Panthers football in 2023. Hell yeah.

Maybe THIS is why Harbaugh wants back in the NFL
Wundrbread33 replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah I’ve gotten my hopes up for Harbaugh before…I’m trying to be as zen as possible right now. Just going to assume it won’t happen. -
Disappointing player of the year award?
Wundrbread33 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
You know Baker didn’t come to mind at all for me lol. Either my mind is trying to protect me from the memories, or he is such an obvious answer that my mind wanted to think of other players. Chinn is up there but he got hurt and is being used incorrectly. So I give him a pass. To me, it’s two guys that share it. Two guys we needed to take a leap and step up, and if they did, the defense would have been on another level. YGM (the size of Cam but invisible). Dude plays patty cake out there. Henderson (every physical gift athletically, but poor decision making and lack of effort). Camp MVP. Remember those days? -
When you thought you couldn’t like Heinicke any more…he goes and does something like this.

"We should have traded Burns" - a rebuttal
Wundrbread33 replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
You can see what you want to see. Absolutely he has plays where he gets stopped. Everyone does. I can find many examples of Garrett getting stonewalled by a rookie LT in his first NFL game. These guys are pros against pros. Burns wins enough that he’s one of the best pass rushers in the league. This is the way it is. Burns was a great draft pick and is getting better each year. Fantastic player; thus the trade offer. Also, if we took the trade offer, we win or lose that trade based on whether or not we nail those picks. That wouldn’t have been known for a few years. I’m happy to have Burns, and think his brightest days are ahead. It only sucks (for the cap; it’s great for him) that we will have to pay him a bunch, but that’s how it goes. You pay your best players and get creative with the surrounding talent. -
You are what you eat. You is what you ate. Bo time all next week for science.

PFF grades from Panthers Week 17 loss to Buccaneers

At least he knows he isn’t creative enough to “sick burn” back. -

Report: Jim Harbaugh wants to return to NFL (Athletic)
Wundrbread33 replied to amcoolio's topic in Carolina Panthers
Unlike the Panthers potentially making the playoffs until Sunday…THIS is something I WILL NOT get my hopes up for. -
He’s flashed enough that I’m fine with him. Since he’s flashed, being patient and developing him makes sense. Dude was doghoused by Rhule for unknown reasons throughout his career so far.

Yesterday was rough. But as a whole, he’s taken a team that wasn’t “his” from the beginning of the football year, and taken them from poo to average. He’s done something to uplift multiple guys, including McAdoo, who’s offense looked abysmal half way through the season. I’d be completely comfortable giving him a 2-3 year deal, which in reality means 1 year to see what he can show. If the team doesn’t get better, or build upon this year, then part ways. I don’t know the behind the scenes, but Holcomb doesn’t seem like the killer DC we need. That’s my main concern. Wilks seems tied to him fundamentally. Would he be able to let him go if things don’t improve? McAdoo may have saved his job, but would Wilks look to upgrade from him too? Basically my main concern is the coordinators he is or will tie himself too. That makes or breaks many a HC. I do think HC, as defined by OP, is indeed a managerial, delegation heavy, leadership role more than anything, and he seems good at it. The key is the people he’s delegating to. I’m not so confident in them.

I got an awesome idea for our fanbase...

Is this addressed to just @mrcompletely11or all of us? -
I’ve been an avid supporter. He’s proving me wrong. I don’t care if you got beat because of learnable things. Dude gave up today. It ended the season. I won’t defend a quitter.

Car/TB showing different approaches this week
Wundrbread33 replied to Cdparr7's topic in Carolina Panthers
Interesting. So if we choke, it’s because we took it too seriously. If we beat their ass, they should have took it more seriously. Hmmm -
No way in hell. Unless you love Fields/Chicago. That’s who will benefit.

So the Titans giving up on Malik Willis already?
Wundrbread33 replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well Matt Rhule said anything that didn’t work out his hands where tied it was Fitt he didn’t know he didn’t have seven years he wanted to do good things but was vetoed by bad things nothing is his fault. And I have every reason to believe his words. Therefore Corral is a Fitt guy. Unless he balls out next year then he was a Rhule guy from the start. -

And I agree with an equal amount of great extent with this! It’s tough to be patient as a fan. In the end all we see (for the most part) is Sundays. But these are basically kids physically and mentally adapting to the pros. Not everyone is a Cam. It takes time. -

I like this Bear Hands person. Thoughtful post. -

Wundrbread33 replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
Willis might fail. Chances are more likely that he will fail (which means not being a long term starter) than making it. Same goes for Corral, who I’m documented as liking a lot. That’s just the way it is. Most guys don’t make it as capable long term starters. But it’s too early for Willis who was clearly a raw athlete. And it’s even earlier for Corral who played less than a game of preseason. You can take the route of calling every rookie QB terrible, and statistically you will be correct more often, but it won’t be from any special insight or evaluation ability, but rather just probability. It’s just way too fuging early. Gotta have some patience. -
Brady’s response was funny.

Act as GM if we win the division….
Wundrbread33 replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
That’s adding another variable but I’ll play. You can only play who you play. Seattle was a winning team. Lions were one of the hottest teams in the league going 6-1 against quality before our game. I understand people feeling how you do, but I don’t give it much weight. This is the NFL. Every game is against pros. It’s not like Saban beating up Florida A&M Technical Community College. -

If we win the next two games, Wilks would be 7-5. Or do you disagree with this approach?
