Sucks for those who aren’t excited right now. We are out from the shadow of Rhule. Wilks kicked our asses back in gear and made us respectable mid season. Now we have Reich who knows how to offense, is well respected, and has already made good staff decisions. We have moved from a fuging joke with a lame duck coach, to having some respect for ourselves again. I’m looking forward to seeing what a Reich/Fitterer off-season looks like. Keep Pounding ladies and gentlemen.

Yeah sometimes you gotta be able to call someone a bloody bastard bitch from time to fugking time.

This is starting to get nasty with coach wilks.

Just don’t give them views. Their job is to make much of nothing. Their job is to speak in outrageous ways to draw you in. It’s not real. -
I think what’s misconstrued is calling CMC a runningback. Instead, he’s a player you can line up anywhere, and he will be better than the defender the majority of the time.
-
CMC is so much more than a dime a dozen runningback. He’s one of the most dynamic weapons in the league, and is just as good a receiver as a runner. Therefore he isn’t just a “RB” Foreman was able to replace CMC because of the way our dumbass coordinator was using CMC. Used properly (like he is now) he is just as much of a difference maker as any top playmaker in the league. Injury is the only way he isn’t in the hall when he hangs the cleats up.

Panthers Let the Great Be the Enemy of the Good.

I think this is the appropriate take (for a Wilks supporter) if we went with a random young OC with limited experience (Dorsey/Kafka etc). But we went with an experienced offensive coach, who has proven to be a winning coach, and done so with many QB’s. This isn’t a gamble. He has the resume. -
Do you trust Reich to find us (and develop) a franchise QB?

He’s an offensive coach (which everyone wanted), and he has already shown that he can successfully produce good offense as a HC, and with different quarterbacks. This should excite people. Sorry he isn’t in his 30’s.
-
That’s a fairly obvious observation to claim as your own.

Great now I’m fully convinced Reich is the best guy for us and I’ll be pissed if it doesn’t happen. Hell of a write up. Well done.

Rhule says he regrets throwing Cam under the bus

For someone who notoriously deflects blame, I’m happy he apologized for this. Apology/taking ownership should be encouraged in my opinion. -
Agent 89 on Brock Purdy and 1st Round QBs
Wundrbread33 replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
If by “system QB” you mean “not as physically gifted as Lance” than sure. But if he keeps winning, and keeps distributing and making the right decisions…well that’s the whole point of the position right? Sunk cost in Lance will, but shouldn’t, influence who starts in the future, particularly if Purdy ends up being a better NFL quarterback. -
I’m telling ya, he’s getting lazy boomer stereotypes thrown on him because he’s 61 and not in his 30’s. Same with Wilks because he’s not young and he’s a DC. Wilks went for, and converted more 4th downs than our opponents did. Reich is the offensive mind everyone wants but has gray hair. OH NO!
-
Reich got fuged by Luck retiring. Was the revolving door at QB after Luck (and not drafting and developing a young QB) Reich’s fault or the GM’s? Anyone know? Because his record with Brissett, two corpse QB’s, and Wentz is pretty good. Makes you wonder what he could do with some consistently at the position.
-
Probably a first time, young, sexy, HC. Reich is like $300k A first time HC is a mystery box anything between $1 - $1 million. Some people like the gamble more, and that fine. But pretending Reich is poo is absurd.

Why is mediocrity so attractive?
Wundrbread33 replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because that was relevant before the 6-6. Not nearly as important after we saw what he did here. Like Seifert had amazing success before we hired him as HC. That quickly became irrelevant after he stunk it up here. People improve and regress. They produce, or are products of their situations (or both). Wilks, in context, took the team from dumpster fire to average. Mid season. That deserves props. Doesn’t mean he will always be average. He may suck. He may be better in the full role. We don’t know. Average for his situation is pretty good in context though. -
Is it just me or does it seem like Reich isn’t exciting people solely because he isn’t 36 years old?
-
How is Reich one of the worst candidates? Under what criteria?

Why is mediocrity so attractive?

Can’t reason with willful ignorance. I mean I disagree with literally every take MrCompletely has, but I don’t question him wanting the team to win. That’s so silly. -

Wundrbread33 replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d bet he wouldn’t win a Super Bowl either. Most coaches don’t. But you and I don’t KNOW what he would or would not do as coach. Most of these coaches won’t be with their team, if hired, in 2-3 years. It’s tough out there. -

Mediocrity isn’t attractive. Everyone wants to win. People don’t want to be mediocre. You see Wilks as mediocre (which is an opinion), and therefore anyone who wants him as HC finds “mediocrity attractive.” Thats ridiculous. Some see 6-6 as good, in context. Some only see 6-6 and don’t care about context. It’s just opinions. Literally everyone here wants to win games and Super Bowls. Come on.- 115 replies

New Coach Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo
Wundrbread33 replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Without Wilks the situation wouldn’t have even mattered. It’s okay to have some nuance and admit the man did a good job while also having moments that pissed you off. It’s like this place is salty we didn’t make the playoffs, and it’s John Fox Wilks to blame. -
