6’3” 230 isn’t very similar to 6’0” 230. Weight is spread out over a larger frame. Burns is a fine example. He’s probably 250ish now, but at 6’5” with long arms, people still think he needs more weight for run support. I’m a “Chinn needs to be in the box” supporter myself, but not because I think he has the right frame, but he plays big, is instinctual, and is probably our most explosive defender. Fearless too. To play a more permanent role inside, and to add to his career, he should get up in at least the 240’s to bang with the big guys. But as you pointed out, base defense is simply that, and we will have numerous packages and ways to utilize him outside of base. Im excited to see how we use Chinn this year.

With Mingo’s hands he’s basically catching a youth ball. Wow. I like our draft top to bottom. Even Johnson, who, after I watched a few Oregon all snap defense videos…I get it. A lot of people will say we don’t have a #1 WR or that we need one, but I don’t think that’s the case. If Bryce has the vision and goes through his reads as billed…then having a bunch of solid options beats having a star you have to feed the ball to.

You're the GM. 2023 Panthers Re-draft

At this point we have the benefit of knowing when everyone was picked. Fitt and co didn’t have that luxury. -
Round 3 - The Carolina Panthers Select DJ Johnson - EDGE - Oregon

Most draft picks for every team don’t make it for long. That being said, there are at least three on that list that you are being wildly impatient with. -
Round 3 - The Carolina Panthers Select DJ Johnson - EDGE - Oregon

Johnson vs. UCLA DJ is #2. Look for the edge with white tape on his arms. His athleticism shows in game. Combine speed shows. He looks strong. Very heavy handed and doesn’t get moved much. A few near sacks but DTR got the ball out. Struggled in space, but UCLA has good backs. Looks raw but he is raw. Overall good first impression to me. Incredible speed/power traits. Long arms. Didn’t get pushed around at all in this game. I’m more comfortable after a quick watch. 25 or not, if he can learn, he already has the prototype body/strength of a starting edge. No waiting on him bulking up. -
The way this board treats Corral…is the way YGM deserves to be treated.

Wanted edge, but TE/guard could be looking nice at 39. Two TE’s helped Cam crush his rookie year.

Matt Corral post to instagram

I didn’t see it either. I’m ignorant to Instagram but maybe it was an expiring post? -
Trade YGM for Jameson Williams and his bookie you cowards!

Man this draft doesn’t seem like the one to trade up for a WR.

CJ Stroud: I’m a football player, not a test taker

It really is. That’s life. My work deals with community living. There could be 1000 people living at a property, but less than 10 create all the problems and complaints. It can “seem” like everyone is complaining…but reality doesn’t match.

Frank Reich: Panthers have made their decision

Shocking I know. Everyone just repeats “but mayo” and “he eats bananas with the skin on.” He could just…and I know this is crazy to say…..have a sense of humor? -

Well…I won’t be shocked if it’s Levis now. I’m going to go ahead and assume it is so I get a head start on the homer coping I need to do. -
Same. He’s finally in position. Excited for him and Barno, even if we take edge. Lack of athletic traits won’t be the reason for it not working out.
-
Guys come on. Chill.
-
Good to see Corral out there. Some on this board made it seem like he’d be in a wheel chair in a padded room with no playbook until September.
-
Just win baby. I’m confident that one of Rookie/Corral will figure it out with this staff. I just don’t really want to watch Dalton play football tbh.
-
I don’t know what to think. Im pretty certain the “Levis is a douchebag” angle is uninformed and incomplete though. None of us know the dude. And (largely) basing the character of someone off social media posts isn’t the way to do it. No matter who we draft, things are looking up for this franchise.

I know some people will say “but preseason”, but we already have two shots to fix QB between our #1 on Thursday, and Corral from last draft. Corral isn’t lacking in arm and athletic traits, so he effectively becomes a literal backup, and the backup option if our rookie is mediocre at best. We have a dream staff of teachers on paper, so chances are decent enough to me that one of Young/Corral will figure this NFL QB thing out. If not then we deal with it in 2-4 years.
