  1. If we are playing this game, the real retread we missed out on was Mike McCarthy.
  2. All I know is we at least get a chance to see (potentially) something different down the stretch. The team radically changed with an interim last season, so it could always happen again. Perhaps Young/Mingo/etc have been grossly misused this season, and actually have redeemable qualities. I hate saying this because somehow this organization keeps finding a new bottom…but it surely can’t get worse this time…right?
  3. You have a low bar for “matrix” then.
  4. Every coaching thread this year will basically be “he won’t come here because Tepper ruined it” vs. “there’s only 32 HC jobs/Tepper make him rich”.
  5. Y’all remember “RPO bad” regarding Corral last draft?
  6. Chubba is noticeably better. He’s bigger. Runs with more power/aggression. His hands have stood out to me too. However the stats of a back are so heavily influenced by the performance of the line, and that line has been NOTICEABLY worse. I really hope it is a scheme mismatch. Otherwise, we are much more screwed if everyone just overachieved last season.
  7. Everyone is a fan of him playing well. But he’s not playing well.
  8. I am! I'd love to be proven wrong. I won’t be though. But please. I want to enjoy football again. Bryce is just so physically underwhelming.
  9. Media loves Bryce. Takes Tepper from local, to National ridicule.
  10. Some dude said it might be “4-5 years until the light turns on.” Fade me and move the team. Either order. Imagine being so delusional to think that’s acceptable.
  11. I’d bench Bryce if they brought Eason back. They probably cut Eason because you can’t have a PS guy making the “franchise QB” arm look that bad in comparison.
  12. To explain why it doesn’t matter. Thought that was clear. Cam contributed to his team getting better. Bryce contributed to his team getting worse. Now that’s something that isn’t debatable.
  13. I went from hating most of your posts to basically pie’ing every post now. Watching Bryce will change a fella.
  14. I’m not reading 9 pages…but this sounds like a “Cam had a better team” argument. Just stop. Doesn’t matter. Cam immediately made it clear he not only belonged, but could be a dominate player in the NFL. He would have done likewise as a rookie on this team. Has little to do with wins and stats. It’s about the ability the player flashes independently. Bryce has had a max of a handful of plays if we are being generous, but I can only think of one throw to Theilen off the top of my head. Cam showed you every game. Even his shitty games. Bryce struggles to get 150 yards. Cam sleep walks past 150 yards. Let’s stop disrespecting Cam.
  15. Nah that’s closer to reality regarding his talent. I’d bump him as a late 2nd-3rd because of how much his “intangibles” were loved, and how he played at Bama, but his physical ability is below average in nearly every aspect. There is a reason (and a wise choice btw, can’t hate the strategy) that he didn’t throw at the combine. We get to see why each Sunday.
  16. I don’t feel bad for him at all. He gets cushy media treatment, and hasn’t done anything in the league to earn that yet. No one was feeling bad for Cam when he was out there showing out, whilst being blasted by the media as a crybaby towel wearing thug. I don’t wish him ill or anything, but the kid has been coddled and treated like he can do no wrong by a lot of loud voices…I just don’t understand why I should feel for him.
  17. Gotta ride out the season with Young. If he still looks like Teddy 2 Gloves-lite…then I’m heavily considering trading back into the 1st for a QB I like in this draft (if I’m the GM/coach. Bare minimum, we need to take a flyer on a QB somewhere in the draft. Maybe a Howell with good tools drops in the draft. This kid, at the very least, needs competition in camp. You don’t have a QB until you do. That was my argument to keep Corral around as a backup option. I was wrong on that player, but I do think it’s the right call to have another young signal caller around to develop.
  18. Defending Bryce and downplaying Stroud is cope until Bryce shows literally anything. At all. Hopefully a coaching change helps some. Im not even saying you are wrong, but it’s just a weird hill to die on when Bryce doesn’t even flash talent right now.
  19. Depends on how you define “thing.” Rumors are things, and they grow into false “facts” if shared enough. I’d have to see something concrete. Of course a player would want a contract, but there was nothing indicating he would hold out or something.
  20. Yeah that’s the problem. There are way too many variables to rely on any one statistic. It’s a never ending abyss of “context.”
  21. The older I get, the more I hate statistics. I just don’t see how any of this stuff matters at all. Just lead your team down the field and score points. “Hypothetical this, perhaps that”: it just doesn’t matter. You can find stats defending anything, you can find stats condemning anything. I’ll stick to the basics, like 1 god damn win. Or how our offense is 99.7% a pain in my ass to watch.
  22. Unfortunately, that would take probably 2-4 years for new footwork or mechanics to become muscle memory (or unconscious). Think Aaron Rodgers changing his upper body mechanics from Cal. Aaron was able to because he sat for multiple years behind Favre though. He fixed it behind the scenes. I think Bryce’s only chance to improve short term, is to make better reads. Then medium term is better supporting cast/coaching scheme. Then long term is mechanics. I think he/we are fuged but hope I’m wrong.
