  1. Anecdotally, I run into waaaaaaay too many cowboys fans here. There would be a tremendous amount of navy blue and silver bullshit in BOA. Maybe not Steelers bad…but maybe part of the Steelers is how offensively yellow they are. There would be roaring every time Dak makes a play.
  2. It’s possible. When I compare my mental maturity in my early 20’s to mid 20’s…big difference.
  3. Long thread so I’m sure I missed some of those. I get your response to those claims for sure.
  4. Let’s be fair though Jimmy. I don’t think anyone is saying “Josh Allen” stuff (if they are just don’t respond lol). Sam however, is performing damn near perfectly in the role he currently has. Similar to how the 49ers QB’s manage the game. Make the occasional key throw. Don’t fug it up. If we have to solely rely on Sam to comeback and win a game throwing it around the yard, I don’t expect success, but then again, those QB’s are rare as it is. If we make the playoffs, we might find out if Sam has matured (it’s possible) and is legit. He would have to make more plays with his arm (I assume) at that level.
  5. I’m impressed by his physical attributes. I’m not impressed by the way he footballs. I’ll dive into more of his film come draft time. Maybe I’m missing something.
  6. A kicker can be clutch but lose games by missing kicks in none clutch situations. Eddy P is converting over 90% and I’m grateful to have him. He’s contributed to wins, but hasn’t had a sexy game winning walk off kick, and when he had the chance he blew it (twice). He had a bad game, but the total body of work is great as a whole.
  7. I don’t disagree with this. I think most of it is the way each of us rates the job Wilks has done. Some lean more to great (probably where I’m at outside of a collapse the last two games), and some lean more to good or average. Fox and Rivera had great moments but you have to know when to move on when things get stale.
  8. I love this. Even if he’s not the same player. I’m sure he has things to share with our young DB’s, and he knows what Wilks expects.
  9. Was he supposed to beat Seattle and Detroit (make sure to look at their 6-1 run before us and the teams they played)?
  10. The 1-4 start when he wasn’t HC is part of “his” record though. Being in contention is great, but if we were already eliminated, it would not take away from what he has done with the team once promoted.
  11. Denver, yes. Trash. Seattle, overachieving team. Middle of the road. We brought Geno back to earth. Lions though? Good team. They aren’t the same team that started the season. They had been on fire. Beat the Vikings. 3 point loss to the Bills. Beat the Giants. Won 6 of 7 games before playing us. We punched them in the mouth. What the Steelers did to us a week ago, we did double that to the Lions. Overall, the league is mainly “eh” with a few top teams. So everyone has a “weak” schedule, but really most teams have been inconsistent. But these past 3 wins…2 are quality wins imo.
  12. The saying goes “don’t let great be the enemy of good.” This of course is too simple, but Wilks has been good. And not just good compared to Rhule (that’s not hard). We are running a lot. People want sexier offense, but we don’t really know if the nature of our offense is because of Wilks, or because of what Wilks has to work with. “Too conservative” to me isn’t simply running the ball a lot. If you can run the ball that’s great. Too conservative to me is “Fox Ball punt on 4th and inches on the opponents side of the field” type poo. I don’t see that extreme pussiness from Wilks.
  13. I enjoyed Juan’s post. I got to the end, did a “slightly blow air out of your nose” laugh, and said “this mutha fuga…” No need for a ban. It’s a sports forum. It’s okay to have fun.
  14. Why you routinely confuse correlation and causation blows my mind.
  15. It’s easy to poo on Darnold. Low hanging fruit. But regarding “what have you done for me lately,” he’s played his best mistake free football of his career. His numbers aren’t crazy (McAdoo wouldn’t allow that anyway) but I’m most impressed by the way he has handled pressure. Taking a sack when needed. Using his legs to buy time while keeping his eyes down field. Throwing the ball away. Happy for the guy. He’s contributing to this teams success right now.
  16. None of this matters. Where a guy was drafted/who won what Super Bowl…that’s history. It just tells you what happened. Not what will happen. Not context on why it happened. Corral/Rookie succeeding has nothing to do with history. It’s about development, coaching, surrounding talent, and their mental make up.
  17. That’s something we can all agree on, and something we need to remind ourselves of.
  18. And tribalism is built into the very fabric of human nature. We quite literally cheer for a team that wears black and blue and can’t stand others who wear black and red.
  19. My panthers fandom fully expects us to control our own destiny, be slated for the playoffs, then lose the final game a blow it
