  1. A fair take. Trading/cutting him when he hasn’t been able to show anything isn’t wise. I for one don’t want all my hope in Dalton if push comes to shove.
  2. Yeah I’m almost certain Corral will or has changed to his college/high school #2. Makes sense. …or as people much smarter than me on here have said, Corral is a piece of poo and is gone anyway because he’s a piece of poo. Whichever narrative you prefer.
  3. I loved his development when I watched Cam that year in NE. Glad he’s back. Absolutely nothing to lose.
  4. So my opinion is that his arm is good enough. Strong enough that it won’t be the reason he wouldn’t succeed. His throws just lose some steam when he isn’t able to use his body efficiently. There’s no arm flicking the ball 25 yards to the opposite sideline type stuff. Or rather when he does do that, the ball doesn’t have the same zip. But that’s physics, and probably related to his size. However…he’s still that dude because he’s so able to quickly twitch his feet to create a strong base in a fraction of a second. He’s able to do things like roll to his left, square his shoulders and drop dimes, and move his body to create torque-y throws while not needing much space. If we draft him, I’m prepared for some gunslinger type interceptions while he’s learning the speed difference in the NFL, and he will learn what throws his arm can make, and when to not make those throws. I think he’s smart enough to adjust to that.
  5. Can you guys shut up I literally just got the Bryce hype train yesterday!
  6. Yeah it’s basically Stroud/AR and a top edge/corner/TE vs. Bryce. Why did YGM have to suck lol. If he could pass rush at all…
  7. I’ve come around to Bryce. I really can convince myself to like both Bryce and Stroud lol. The exhausted view that “if Bryce was 6’3” he’s generational…” which I get… Well you gotta take the guy and hope he doesn’t get crushed. Take a chance. …but if the Texans YOLO’d #2 and #12 to swap picks…that makes things complicated.
  8. Another angle to him “practicing the test since freshman year of high school” is that he’s been treating his football career like a professional for a long time. That’s good news to me.
  9. Never said he was attached to 2. You did. His college number 7 wasn’t available. Jason Baker wouldn’t give him the number. Clausen paid that attitude forward to Cam. When Baker was gone, Clausen no longer cared about 2…he switched to 7, told Cam he could have 2, but Cam didn’t change because he embraced 1. Literally Clausen in #7 his last preseason here. Unlike Clausen, Corral’s college and high school number isn’t taken by another player. Does this clarify what I mean?
  10. Clausen’s #7 wasn’t available when he was drafted. It also wasn’t available when Cam wanted #2 the next year. Jason Baker wore #7. DJ Moore is gone. #2 is available. It wasn’t available last year. It’s not the same situation.
  11. Okay but you said “he should get ahead of it” like it’s a lock we take Young. Hypothetically if we took Young, number 2 is just sitting there. Makes too much sense. I’ve addressed how easy it is if we took Young, but also why he hasn’t gotten “ahead of it.” It’s not a Clausen/Cam thing. Corral isn’t attached to 9 unless he’s nostalgic over getting no reps last year and playing in almost one full preseason game in #9.
  12. If I were him I’m not worried about it. Young isn’t even drafted yet. I’m sure his focus is on rehabbing that foot, and preparing to show his value to a new staff in training camp.
  13. This would be a non issue. Corral I’m sure would take his college/high school number (2) now that it’s available…
  14. You know what? fug it you flipped me. Bryce Young 2023 let’s fuging go!
  15. *Happy/Sad Cam memories initiated*
  16. His feel for the game and intangibles are easy to get excited over. I’m more comfortable with Stroud at this point because he seems like a bright kid too, and there aren’t physical question marks with him (and his ball placement is so good) but if Young is the pick I think people have to work hard to not be excited over him too.
  17. It seems as if we are at a standstill. Correct me if I mischaracterize you. Are you saying that focusing on our differences (in this case, skin color or melanin levels in the skin) is productive towards the goal of equality? If so, I can’t fundamentally agree with that.
  18. I’m not saying that at all. I’m referring to the way a person looks. Culture, experience, background…that gives variety and zest to life. Regarding politics; they proactively do the opposite of what you say. They don’t eliminate differences, but foster, magnify, and exaggerate differences. Fundamentally “us verse them”. Striping someone of their culture and identity is often bad (unless it is destructive, and life averse), but realizing the truth; that despite different cultures, we are actually the same thing…well I don’t see how that is fundamentally “harmful” at all.
  19. I get it, just seems like an irrelevant way to describe someone if you truly view all people as people. If we keep reminding people of their differences, they will believe it.
  20. That’s fair, but some prospects get elevated for that, and some get punished. Sam Howell is the counter example. Highly touted two years ago. His weapons all got drafted. He still performed rather well, had to run more, just not as good (understandable), and then he falls from grace. It’s inconsistent (not saying you are, just the “draft narrative” stuff as a whole).
  21. Yeah I guess another angle would be to tackle Mac Jones in the same way. He was a relatively high recruit, wasn’t physically impressive, but performed well at Bama. Wonder if he would have been a 1st rounder had he QB’d Mizzou. Ultimately I know it’s impossible to know, but I wish there was a way to quantify how much being at Bama/Ohio St. adds to the prestige of a prospect outside of their actual ability and performance. And let’s say if Bryce did in fact lose draft position if he was at Ole Miss., it doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a great pro. If being at Ole Miss got him drafted 20th or in the 2nd round, he might still end up the best QB in the draft.
  22. Why did Joe feel the need to point out the color of his skin?
  23. Whoops I forgot to respond. It’s unrealistic to imagine him at Western Kentucky or something, so maybe if he went to Mizzou, Ole Miss, Kentucky, etc. Middle SEC squad. An 8+ win major school.
  24. I enjoy those rankings too but that doesn’t make it obvious. Pros is a different game. 18-22 years old (college years) is a tremendous growth period mentally and physically for young men. That’s how you get a 2 or 3 star TE in high school, who grows into a 1st round NFL tackle. A lot of top recruits fail due to lack of work ethic and “want to”, and I will certainly give you that Bryce isn’t one of those. It just seems like there is a cap on his ceiling physically, but he’d be the easiest guy to root for if he’s the pick.
