  1. Lol the tune of this place after two preseason games is something else man.
  2. Just doesn’t have an nfl arm. Ball floats.
  3. Let’s see if the kid can pull it off
  4. I just record the game and pretend it starts an hour later lol. I just can’t take commercials anymore.
  5. It is just a sport though. It’s a game. Some people think it’s fun to watch. So they watch. Maybe they buy a ticket. Merchandise. But it is a game. It’s a sport. Business is also a sport; a game. Who can collect the most coins. “Success” has societal rules to it. Zoom out further…life is a game. It’s all around you. It’s all hide and seek and tag. Just some games have dire consequences, while others are innocent. That is reality. Football being serious, and football being just a game…well neither is false. Just depends on the individual.
  6. I mean, he says “the team that kinda got beat”. That can apply to either team. His players can also get pissed about getting beat, and the same logic applies. He didn’t say just his guys might get hurt. Just because we were embarrassed on Saturday, it doesn’t make this man a villain.
  7. No excuse. Matt Corral should have done more. What a waste of a pick. Rhule guy. I’ve seen what I need to see. He doesn’t have it….
  8. Yeah he’s being inconsistent. Hard to have a discussion. Waste of time imo.
  9. It’s tough taking anybody seriously, especially “fans”, who say Cam had one great year, and a bunch of mediocre ones. It’s either a short memory, or they were somehow jaded so much that they missed the force he was on the field. Combine his passing AND rushing statistics, and show me where all this mediocrity was.
  10. Preseason wins and losses mean nothing. But individual performance vs. their matchup matters. And the 5 offensive linemen can be seen as an individual too. “Vanilla” gets thrown around as an excuse, but I think things are kept very basic to not only save concepts for the regular season, but also to see how players do in a raw matchup 1v1. Our o-line was just beat up on. Scheme or no scheme. I agree. And now they get micro managed because of it.
  11. “Everyone who disagrees with me is an idiot.”
  12. I agree. He did a few nice things, but looked nervous out there. Time will tell if it’s just jitters that calm down, but he also might not have it. QB in the NFL is hard.
  13. Not sure OP actually likes Corral. It just comes off as something said to even out the harsher tones of the post. It’s just shortsighted. I could argue why it’s shortsighted about Corral (or any young QB), but that’s a dead horse that still gets beat all the time. It’s also short sighted regarding Bryce. I’m drinking the milkshake right now, while also recognizing that he hasn’t shown anything yet, outside of being the only rookie QB to not throw a horrible pick in the first game. Im highly confident in Bryce, but we are 1 preseason game in. We have a long season to go. Bryce has to do something, and do so consistently for us to finally feel safe at QB. So far he is all hype in the NFL, and I don’t care to get caught up in that. QB since Cam has me all aboard the “wait and see” train, even if I’m almost certain Bryce is it. Regarding Corral…cutting him is dumb poo. He’s young and cheap, and he absolutely could develop behind Bryce. Unless our coaches actually are all hype too. If he isn’t on the team, it needs to be by trade. Dalton being a hit away from being the only QB on the roster does not make me comfortable at all.
  14. And occasionally my dumb ass takes the bait and tries to debate with these people. I think I’ve learned my lesson with that but we shall see.
  15. Yes. Thank you. I think if people can put aside the “Young Lion” posts, Corral has some good athletic traits, and he showed some good things while looking like a rookie (pressing, nerves), at other times. I look forward to seeing him the rest of preseason, and hope he shows he can be a cheap backup on a rookie deal, or valuable in a trade.
  16. Either this forum is full of youngins or you old farts need to take preseason less seriously.
  17. As much as I hated watching Baker play, our coaching staff sucked flaccid penis. He was a good teammate and supported whoever was in the game. I hope he does well, aside from at least two games a year.
  18. It’s quite possible Henderson just doesn’t have it, but to be fair, he’s had the shittiest luck so far regarding coaching staffs. You never know. Here’s to finding out this season. (And that applies to all the young guys in particular)
  19. 1. YGM/DJ Johnson/Barno at edge. Want to see a flash. 2. Corral; can he be the cheap backup on his rookie deal, or build value as a trade piece. 3. Mingo/TMJ/Shenault. Just excited to see them play. Want TMJ to take that step. Want to see Shenault in the backfield. 4. The whole TE room. Want to see their strengths match what they are asked to do. That hasn’t been the case the past few years. 5. McCall. That is all. Roster moves indicate he has the staffs confidence. I’m excited to see him at 3-4 nose.
  20. Keep seeing Gettis brought up. He doesn’t really fit the criteria imo. He actually showed he belonged in the regular season his rookie year, with awful QB play. He just blew his knee and never got back to that. Him producing in real games at 6’4” with 4.3 speed, and then getting hurt is why so many were hyped for him, and why he is a panther meme for “late round potential gems.”
  21. Might not mean anything, but he was listed 4th string on the 1st depth chart. Doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t liked by the staff. Could just see him as a developmental guy with vets in front of him. Then again he may be super lost out there. More will become clear in preseason. He remains an intriguing prospect to me for sure.
  22. I think college kids, physically talented or not, simply struggled with his kind of size. But NFL professionals have technique to deal with that size. So what else can he bring to the table? He doesn’t have to have impeccable feet, but he must be able to nearly eliminate wasted movement to make up for slower feet. His strength is his strength and mass, but NFL DT’s can use that mass against him. He doesn’t have the feet to recover, so he has to be less aggressive with that strength. That could be why he looks big, but gets pushed/pulled around. He won’t make it unless he develops second nature technique, and counters to how DT’s use his mass against him.
  23. Hard to say this early in camp, during a year when we drafted a #1 overall QB who eats up most of the articles/oberservation from camp. I feel in depth coverage of all positions is overshadowed by Bryce right now, but even so, camp hype is just camp hype anyway. Ends/edge tend to need time to develop too, which means the primary issue with him (age) is magnified. He certainly has the tools/body, and what I hope to see is him, by the end of the season, show he can hold the edge, and flash some pass rush. Im not worried about him, but I understand why people are.
