  1. What does Ian do in practice to make coaches fall in love with the TE screen? Lol
  2. Corners do this subtly all game. Odds are every play. It’s like a holding call.
  3. Hating on CJ for that one is pure hate. Every corner does that all the time. Horn puts his hand on waists all the time. Deion did that poo. There is plenty to hate on, but that ain’t it.
  4. One touchdown and this place has gone from “Bears getting a top 5 pick” to “franchise QB!”
  5. As someone who likes a lot of the tools in Corrals tool chest, his injury made him too much of a question mark for us to not address the position this off-season. No matter what staff came in, they couldn’t rely on a rookie who missed his rookie year, to be the cornerstone or future of the team. So they picked their favorite QB in the draft to address that hole (a gaping black hole). That being said, Young was drafted TO BE the franchise QB, but that’s not the same statement as, Young IS the franchise QB. We still don’t have that until he proves to be that. So Corral should remain on the team as an option until Young proves he IS a franchise QB. And if he doesn’t? Maybe Corral can prove to be that. But we are absolutely dead in the water until QB is fixed. I’m rooting for Young to be that fix.
  6. That takes time and effort though. I’ll just ignore things that conflict with my opinion! So shut up Dad you don’t know me!
  7. It’s hard to comprehend how passionately some fans are against a player who ultimately would be a 3rd string developmental guy. Why would these people be happier if we went Young/Dalton vs. Young/Dalton/Corral? Are you guys passionate about keeping a 5th TE? Do you think him being around hurts Young? Educate me outside of “he sucks” please. Even if I agreed that “he’s trash” (it’s too early to say imo), why does it matter to you if we keep a “trash” QB in the 3rd spot? We’ve done it before and I don’t recall this level of animosity.
  8. Agreed entirely. The tools are there. You can have a cheap, young backup at a premium position. He may develop into a nice asset, and that benefits us if something unfortunate happens with Bryce, or he gets a rep as an up and coming backup, and a team may bite if they are in need. He’s basically insurance. Won’t need him until you need him, but that makes more sense to me than a 5th linebacker that could be stashed on PS much easier.
  9. I’m telling you…this forum will have a celebratory thread if he’s cut or traded. Wonder who would be public enemy #1 next?
  10. Trey Lance seemed like the most obvious bust waiting to happen on draft day. Dude threw to guys with 10 yards of separation in college.
  11. Yeah I’ll take Simms opinion over this kind of “analysis” any day.
  12. Corral has played the equivalent of 1 preseason at this point. Half of that with McAdoo and Rhule. Yeah “literally everyone on this board has seen enough.”
  13. People see Wilson, and that Corral didn’t throw 5 TD’s his first preseason game, and therefore Simms = hack. He is not Skip Bayless no matter how much people try to convince me he is.
  14. I don’t watch/listen when he sits with Florio. I just get the general vibe that Florio really enjoys hearing himself talk, and he dominates conversations. I also don’t like his face. That doesn’t make me right. Doesn’t make the way I feel right. But that’s how I be feeling.
  15. Chris Simms is fine. People think he’s a hack if he says something they dislike, he’s quotable if he says something they do like. He has a casual hangout style, so maybe people should just relax a bit, and not take what he says personally.
  16. Yeah that was my concern about both Young and Stroud for a few years. Well discussed on this forum. It doesn’t mean they won’t be great, or that they don’t have the talent, but the question is how much of their team winning was a result of them being QB? Physically, sure, but also intangible things like mentality, leadership, etc. Nearly unanswerable though. I feel that Young can do it, but I can’t back that up in any tangible way. This is the ultimate team sport imo, and that’s why it’s so beautiful when something like 2015 happens when the whole team is just gelled and firing on all cylinders. It’s rare. Its never all on the QB, or one player, as much as we pretend it is at times.
  17. Wait so either Fitterer was in control and sucks so you are right. Or he wasn’t in control, which makes him a “paper” GM so he still sucks so you are right. So you are arguing one side, whilst stealing the other side too. Ain't gonna lie I’m not even mad at this tactic.
  18. Hindsight imo. Darnold remains a very physically talented prospect, but the narrative (actually true and was true here) was he was put in a bad place, but he was young so he had potential still. The price paid was debatable (I think it was rich), but taking a chance was fine. Corral was fine too as a prospect. His physical traits were attractive in the 3rd, even on a trade up. But he didn’t make sense in the end because Rhule clearly didn’t intend on giving him a shot. I’m certain I’m in the minority here, but this is how I see it: between Young and Corral, we have two lotto tickets. We have a lot invested in Young, but in reality, we just need one of these two to be a great (quality) QB within two seasons. We hope it’s Young because more is at stake, but in the end, you just need a great QB, and I honestly don’t care where that QB comes from. Having two young QB’s makes me feel more at ease. We have a lot of eggs in the Young basket, but I feel better knowing I have a Corral basket off to the side with a few eggs in it too.
  19. You must use assets to get a quality QB if you don’t have a quality QB. There are not very many quality QB’s. So you either have to try to get one, or don’t try to get one. I like trying to get one personally.
  20. Now the next step is realizing this applies to any QB, and not just our shiny #1 overall we desperately want to pan out. Pressure is a valid reason to not perform well, but fans are quick to throw a QB under the bus, unless it’s a QB they like. Then they see the impact of pressure.
  21. Impressed: - DJ Johnson made that great 1 on 1 tackle, but also held the edge well, and just looks strong out there. - I think Brandon Smith makes the team based on special teams. Hopefully he develops this year, and can help on defense next year. - Wims looks good out there. He’s certainly earned Corrals trust. - Corral looked calmer and more confident. Unless he implodes next week, he’s on the roster. The arm talent and legs are too good to cut or stash on PS. - Mingo. His size and speed both look to translate easily to this level. Disappointed: - YGM but at this point a good performance would be shocking. - oline play in general. Makes everyone else hard to make an opinion of. - Bryce Young’s physical traits, particularly his arm strength. Not writing him off, and his strengths should show once coaches gameplan, but Cam really spoiled us, much like Peppers spoiled us at end. Corral easily has a better arm and is faster. But I have to remind myself that number 1 is what’s between the ears.
  22. You never fail to miss the point. Smash mouth, ball control, defense. It can win you games but people want peak McVay or nothing else.
  23. Wilks and Darnold were winning in a way that fans didn’t want.
