  1. Having Theilen and Coker makes most of this list not make sense. Maybe we draft an inside receiver, but paying a FA? Nah thanks. We really need a physical Split End, who won’t get bodied by a CB at the line. Will allow XL to play flanker and move. End arounds, etc. I know it was his first year, but I’m unconvinced that he’s more than a gadget/complementary player. Jumbo Deebo who plays like mini Deebo.
  2. First rounder, but not a top 10 pick. Pick 31 I think? Different ball game. Top 10 pick…. you got to hit the sure thing.
  3. Nah. I’m not a fan of us picking Stewart ahead of say…pick 25. But he’s going to give you more than Brown. He’s going to be able to hold the edge and give you some pressures because of his size, power, athleticism, and effort. He’s a real NFL player, he just isn’t a premier pass rusher because he doesn’t have that win instantly outside move. Brown was a lil guy with a good spin move that didn’t work against NFL OT with NFL OT reach.
  4. So many good options on DL from a body and physicality standpoint. We could really shore up run D. It’s hard to play a nose as a young guy. 3-4 ends galore tho. We’d be silly not to pick one up.
  5. I followed Shemar even in high school. I thought he would eventually be a 5 tech only because he doesn’t get around good OT as a pure edge rusher. Now, he didn’t grow into that 5tech, but he still can’t close the deal as a rusher. He’s going to be an edge setting 4-3 end and is going to put out modest sack #. It’s worth a 4-3 team to pick in the 20s-40s because there aren’t that many pure 4-3 ends in the draft and really becoming harder to find. Great draft for 5T, 3T, 1T tho and decent depth for pure 0 nose.
  6. There’s wishful thinking and then there is this….”Doesn’t matter if he’s a disappointment if we hit our other picks”- You…just now
  7. “He’s a hybrid LB/edge” just screams to me that he has limitations at both. For the fanboys, that’s where the Luvu/Chinn talk comes into play. I’d rather trade back and take Schwesinger in the 20’s or Warren or someshit. It’s at least best player at their position. Maybe Grant….stay put and pick TMac? I just prefer guys with defined positions and knowing you are filling and improving one of 22 positions in top 10. Give me a combo guard in the NBA or as a mid round project in the NFL draft. Seems insane to think that’s a good idea top 10. Hybrid is for weed and werewolves.
  8. 2nd best pure inside backer in this draft behind Schwesinger.
  9. The only comparison I’m making is that they are both players with no position. Chinn obvs stuck between safety and LB and Walker stuck between inside backer and 3-4 OLB. If I’m comping I’m saying Great Value Micah Parsons.
  10. IMO you don’t spend pick 8 on a bloke you move around. Jumbo Jeremy Chinn vibes. Nah thanks.
  11. These dudes on this combine blowing Shemar Stewart. 4.5 sacks…career. True 4-3 strong side end will help him. He can obviously jump and play football. Need a sack artist in the first half of round 1 and he is not that…yet.
  12. Jay Toia from UCLA has some potential for that. Carson Schwesinger went from a nobody walk on to probably a 2nd round pick with Toia keeping him clean.
  13. Walker/Williams. They just aren’t natural at any position.
  14. I never want to see Shemar Stewart’s name associated to us again The dude has like 3 careers sacks. Maybe he develops into Al Wallace after his 3rd year, but he’s shown nothing to be a first round pick.
  15. No LB to take at 8 (thank god) but after years of Jon Beason, Thomas Davis, and Luke Kuechly it’s apparent that an eraser LB is sorely missing on this team and the biggest need.
  16. I think we need defensive playmakers to compete. Edge has to be the pick if Carter or Green there. But we could use a real Split End and TMac is that, not sure XL is capable of winning the matchup consistently on an island or making the consistent catches you need there. XL may be fat Ted Ginn doing Flanker poo- end around, jet sweep, clears, route combo meshes with the slot kind of guy.
  17. Sebnteen sacks. You always want a guy who closes the deal as a pass rusher. He can play the run. Good tape not just a Senior Bowl rep. Those UGA edge guys Walker and Williams or whatever they are(they don’t have a position) suck. Take the guys with the sack numbers and the athleticism.
  18. Doesn’t get talked about enough on here. Probably doesn’t make it out of Round 2.
  19. He’s got good tape. He’s small, didn’t go to a big school and only has 1 year of high level production. Still if he had a red helmet with a G or A on it he’d be a sure fire top 10 guy. I’m warming up to him as our pick as well.
  20. A lot of talent in this draft. You just don’t have 5 first round OT, or QB like you do sometimes. High level outside WR ain’t there at all besides TMac, but some skilled slot guys. The BIG pass rusher 4-3 ends aren’t there either. No Peppers or Garrett types. Flip side is your 4th round TE and LB are a hell of a lot better than Ian Thomas and Trevin Wallace tho. Plenty of big strong guys that can anchor on DL. Good 3-4 edge types that can rush. Big, solid RBs should be available the whole time. Rounds 2-4 look damn good to me compared to recent drafts.
  21. Likely a botched surgery or rehab issue before he got here. It shouldn’t have taken 12 months to be on the field. Something went wrong and likely early on
  22. Jay Toia from UCLA at Nose is a guy who doesn’t have a lot of buzz, but fits the role of run stopper. But watch his MLB Carson Schwesinger get to the ball carrier. I want both. Should be round 3-4 guys. Schwesinger could go as high as the 2nd tho. The 5 tech is a tough position to project. You need a guy with length, heft, and a balance of pass rush and run stuff skills. Rylie Mills another mid rounder that I like for the 5 tech spot. It’s a good draft in the mid rounds for run stopping DL and there’s a couple good true middle backers in there.
  23. “This draft is weak” comments happen every year. It’s always going to better next year until next year comes around.
  24. Cam said directly out the horses mouth his shoulder was never right after he made a diving tackle attempt after an INT against the Chargers. Play was a perfect example of Benjamin being a fat and lazy POS.
