  1. Need two picks in that 18-45 range. It’s not a bad draft. There just isn’t a ton of separation between picks 5-45 or so.
  2. It was an overpay, but he and Milton Williams had similar years on similar snap counts. Ideally we would’ve held out for the draft as there are a lot of those 5tech guys this year. But it’s not a rookie position. One injury away from trotting Nick Thurman back out there even with a draft pick. Quality pass rush from the 5 comes with a price. Yes it was steep, but he gives you more pass rush than a lot of guys at that spot.
  3. Sure that makes sense on 3rd down. I think he’s a way better edge rusher than his teammate, pretty on par with Mike Green without character concerns. Better than Pearce too. People on here talking inside backer? He’s slow to read his keys and can’t navigate traffic for poo in the run game as an inside linebacker. 15 better inside backers in this draft.
  4. I read these threads and go back and watch more Jalon Walker and I never see that he’s an elite inside backer on 1/2 down. He doesn’t make high level plays vs the run at that spot. He makes his plays as an edge rusher or as a blitzer/spy at inside backer on 3rd down. Thats fine as a pick at 8, he’s as good an edge rusher as anyone else as 8 and his blitz from inside and spy is a good asset in passing situations. But I keep reading y’all typing ILB, but the film don’t match. Are y’all saying ILB off height and weight or what? A hunch?
  5. Draft Warren, Tet, or a OLB. Draft Carson Schwesinger and Danny Stutsman. Try to draft Anthony Belton. Go win some games.
  6. Need an eraser at ILB. Maybe find a way to draft Schwesinger and I’ll feel more confident.
  7. Former Thorpe award winner. You’d all cream your britches talkIng the possibility of drafting a Thorpe winner every year during the draft. But…but the Raiders let him go….You guys all marry virgins and kill your dog to get a new puppy every year too?
  8. Love his competitiveness. It makes a difference and will help our defense with an identity.
  9. This makes so much more sense than a 26 per deal for a 5Tech when you’ve already got D. Brown on a big deal. Thank you Patriots. I can’t fathom throwing that much money into that position. Needed the nose, got the nose.
  10. Former first team All Acc. Former consensus First Team All American. Some of your draft crushes didn’t have that. 7 sacks last year. Some of them didn’t have that last year either (coughStewartcough)
  11. DK gives you a true split end who won’t get bodied at the line. It’s something we don’t have. XL didn’t prove he was anything near that last year. I think of XL as a big Deebo, but with less physicality.
  12. Similar stat line to Tee Higgins who has been sucked off hawk tuah style for 2 full years on this board.
  13. Is ok. I don’t know why you’d draft two 5T when you have Brown. Least important position on the D as well. It’s also the deepest position(along with RB) in this draft. The glaring hole…we had nobodies off the street playing linebacker last year. Would love something there. Oladejo and then David Walker are my favorite edge guys after the first group.
  14. The big deal for me is that all of those guys were true MLB tackling machines. Specifically Morgan and Luke were well over 100 tackles in their final collegiate seasons. Jalon Walker is like a 60 tackles guy.
  15. It doesn’t exactly work like that. You really have Warren, then Arroyo , Loveland and Taylor and not much else. Fannin was just ok at the Senior Bowl and others have major holes in their game. Who’s to say they aren’t all gone at 57 or whenever we pick in round 2, much less round 3. I’m not advocating a TE or a S in the top 10. But if we stand pat at 8, I am advocating for as close as we can get to a sure thing. Production+Athleticism+intangibles make sure all those boxes are checked. Luke Kuechly was pick 9. Give me that type of player at whatever position when you are picking in that 5-10 range.
  16. It’s fairly simple. He doesn’t have an outside quick win move. Those instant wins around the corner are what makes for the big sack #. He don’t have the Gumby bend right now and you need that to win quick and turn that corner. Charles Johnson didn’t and became a good player. Stewart can be successful, but he’s going to have to work for sacks at this stage in his game. While I don’t think anyone in this thread thinks he’s outright bad, there is too much risk in the top 10.
  17. Verified 281 at Senior Bowl. He’s going to play closer to that weight.
  18. I think he’ll do well as a 3Tech but it’s not a scheme fit for us…right now., unless we plan on transitioning back to 4-3. He’s not a 2 gapper.
  19. Great reason why nobody should follow Walter anymore. It’s a dinosaur at this point. Whole thing is pointless because Stewart will not be available at 57 and Igbinosun will be in class on draft day. It’s pure silly trash.
  20. Having Theilen and Coker makes most of this list not make sense. Maybe we draft an inside receiver, but paying a FA? Nah thanks. We really need a physical Split End, who won’t get bodied by a CB at the line. Will allow XL to play flanker and move. End arounds, etc. I know it was his first year, but I’m unconvinced that he’s more than a gadget/complementary player. Jumbo Deebo who plays like mini Deebo.
  21. First rounder, but not a top 10 pick. Pick 31 I think? Different ball game. Top 10 pick…. you got to hit the sure thing.
  22. Nah. I’m not a fan of us picking Stewart ahead of say…pick 25. But he’s going to give you more than Brown. He’s going to be able to hold the edge and give you some pressures because of his size, power, athleticism, and effort. He’s a real NFL player, he just isn’t a premier pass rusher because he doesn’t have that win instantly outside move. Brown was a lil guy with a good spin move that didn’t work against NFL OT with NFL OT reach.
  23. So many good options on DL from a body and physicality standpoint. We could really shore up run D. It’s hard to play a nose as a young guy. 3-4 ends galore tho. We’d be silly not to pick one up.
  24. I followed Shemar even in high school. I thought he would eventually be a 5 tech only because he doesn’t get around good OT as a pure edge rusher. Now, he didn’t grow into that 5tech, but he still can’t close the deal as a rusher. He’s going to be an edge setting 4-3 end and is going to put out modest sack #. It’s worth a 4-3 team to pick in the 20s-40s because there aren’t that many pure 4-3 ends in the draft and really becoming harder to find. Great draft for 5T, 3T, 1T tho and decent depth for pure 0 nose.
  25. There’s wishful thinking and then there is this….”Doesn’t matter if he’s a disappointment if we hit our other picks”- You…just now
