  1. You know I agree with this. Let him sit a few more weeks to get comfortable in the offense and more familiar with the players. Then when we're eliminated from the playoffs, throw him in the deep end. Sink or swim. He can resurrect his career, or put the nail in his own coffin. Either way, no more guessing.
  2. This team needs to find a solution to the pass rush. They'll be ok if that's addressed. Getting back Derrick Brown will go a long way in slowing down the run. Too many new starters across the board to expect success early. Keep more players than you lose as continuity is important. Develop the young guys. Bring in more young talent. Keep the performing vets. Establish a culture. One player (QB) doesn't make a team. Never has. Never will. Not in football.
  3. Yeah, but you've got to give him another chance. Contrary to what folk want to believe, Bryce's problems are mostly mental not physical. If this team was only giving a player 18 games to show who they were, they would have given up on Derrick Brown and Chuba. Some players take longer to develop. Some never develop. I do agree that they should have a short leash on him though. Maybe when they're mathematically eliminated, give him the last 4 games or so.
  4. Agree. He has to do that on his own dime. Right now, he's a wasted roster spot at WR.
  5. Cam could come in right now and serve a Taysom Hill role for a team. And he'd be better at it.
  6. Yep. Fullback. He shouldn’t touch the ball more than a couple of times a game - if that. Honestly I think he'd be better on defense. He just has pedestrian ball skills. Exceptional athlete. Mediocre playmaking ability.
  7. FB maybe. I don't know about tailback or halfback. Have you seen him run with the ball? Dude falls down as soon as he can. That's if he doesn't roll over onto his head and fumble.
  8. Atlanta's WRs made plays. There were some busted coverages, but they caught contested passes all day too. DBs were in their hip pockets all day. I think you just have to harrass the QB against a team like that. And make the pick 6 INT when the ball hits you in the hands early - GEEZ!
  9. Yeah, but no rookie QB is gonna come in here and turn this team around so just roll with the vet. Should be drafting BPA only in the first 3 rounds. The only positions I wouldn't draft before the 4th round are offensive guard and running back. If QB is the actual BPA, then get him. But DO NOT force the pick for need.
  10. Real talk though, TMJ is a more natural WR than Mingo. Mingo is an athlete trying to be a WR. He's just so awkward and almost no ball skills. May be he'd be a better safety than a WR.
  11. A lot of the big plays are coverage break downs and lack of communication. Man coverage is pretty simple (unless they're running a bunch of rub routes). Run blitzing is a thing too. It's not just to pressure the QB. The idea is to send more guys than they can block. 5 on 5 is not an effective blitz strategy for this team because no one is winning.
  12. Somebody. Anybody that can get to the QB is the biggest issue. Same as last season- with Burns.
  13. If they trade Johnson, then they should have just left Bryce in. Team morale would tank immediately. The team knows he's the guy just like everyone else. Johnson is a huge part of XL and Mingo's development. If he doesn't want to re-sign next season, then tag him and trade him then. He'll be worth a lot more after 1000 yards and 10 TDs.
  14. Yep. Evero is gonna have to scheme pressure and confuse the rookie QB with pre vs post snap reads.
  15. Yeah I agree. Unless DJ Moore breaks a couple for 70+ yards. Which is very possible.
  16. They have very different running styles. I hope Brooks can become a homerun back. It's sorely needed.
  17. Great points all around. Probably another contributing factor to why so many rookie QBs are failing early and turning the corner down the road. Usually on another team.
  18. And hopefully Brooks can help get back to the RB legacy. RBs and LBs have always been this team's calling cards.
  19. That game showed me one thing. The Panthers skill players really are bottom of the league in big plays. Need a guy that can run 40+ yards with the ball in his hands. Either after a handoff or after the catch. DJ Moore and CMC had that ability and we lost both. Damn...
  20. The lines dictate the game. Always. Defense: control the LOS and pressure the QB Offense: control the LOS and prevent pressure on the QB
  21. I don't think they're that far off. Honestly believe a healthy Derrick Brown and 1 decent pass rusher fixes this defense. Secondary is good enough. And I really think Wallace will be another good ILB.
  22. It was obvious that he was exhausted. It really does take a few games to get into "game shape." Practice doesn't get you there if you're an every down starter.
  23. Is this CJ Henderson part II? At least they didn't give up draft capital for him.
