  1. He's mostly a one trick pony. But dam he's a killer at that trick.
  2. See him as a big nickel. Pretty good in man coverage for his size. Allows more blitz packages. And I'm from Columbia. Fear the Cock!
  3. There is no way they value Horn, Moore or Tremayne over Legette. Legette will make the roster unless he's traded. Doubt that happens after so many quality WRs in this draft.
  4. Haven't seen the interview. I just don't have a lot of faith in him beating out Walker or Moton as a rookie. He'll play but I'm not sure he'll start. If Makai Lemon wasn't available I wouldn't have as much of an issue with the pick. Makai would likely be a 700+ yards receiver as a rookie here, and be the explosive playmaker we've needed since trading DJ Moore. He would start day 1. No contingencies. And what if TMac or Coker go down for any extended period of time? We'd be counting on Metchie to step up big time. This receiving group is not as good as some give it credit to be. There's a real lack of a speed and elusive factor.
  5. If Metchie can finally get back to his pre-draft level. If Jimmy Horn can finally get on the field. If Jonathan Brooks can finally stay healthy. If JaTavion Sanders can finally stay healthy and get back to his early rookie level. Then we'd finally have NFL level offensive weapons. Lot of Ifs. Still 6 more picks though. Can't get complacent about the lack of explosive playmakers on O. The only one we've kind of had for the last 3 years was lost in free agency (Rico).
  6. Agree an ILB should be the target round 2 since BPA is out the window. Would take a flyer on Zachariah Branch if he fell to our 3rd.
  7. I hope so. But not because of injury. Hopefully, he beats someone out or gets put in a lot of big personnel packages.
  8. I understand all that. But no way there were 5 OTs better than Makai Lemon, Dillon Thieneman or Chris Johnson. The pick was for future need and cap relief. I'm not saying that's wrong. It's probably the right move. But he was not the best player available that would have the greatest impact this season. We'll just hope that Nick Scott turns into an athletic freak, CSW learns how to cover slots and TEs, or Metchie/Jimmy Horn break out this season. At least one of those things can happen. Right? In the meantime they'll be developing our future LT. Which is important too. We'll see how it works out.
  9. I said if he was their BPA, then he was the right pick. But I don't agree that he was BPA or would have the greatest impact this season. Not agreeing is not the same as not believing. He wasn't BPA. He won't have the greatest impact this season. Still could have been the right pick.
  10. Jambalaya with Saffron Rice and Flying Dog Double Dog IPA.
  11. I mean I get why they picked him. They obviously have a plan for the oline to get younger and less expensive. But it really feels like gaslighting trying to explain how the 5th OT off the board is BPA over the 2nd CB, the 2nd FS or the 3rd WR.
  12. If he was their BPA, then he was the right pick. I just don't agree that he was BPA or would have the most impact this season.
  13. Lemon and possibly Thieneman were higher rated and at positions of need also. And... they would start or get significant playing time this season. Monroe is a high ceiling project player that likely won't start a game this season. Just hope they have plans for using him this season, even if they're unconventional roles. For the record, I don't see this as a bad pick. They have a plan for the future. But this pick is not the most impactful for 2026.
  14. This wasn't BPA. This was a perceived need or future cap plan move. Starting to give 2024 vibes. At least he isn't injured.
  15. Carolina is in 1-1 personnel 65% of the time. A third WR is as important as the #1 TE. If they don't go WR early (and they're BPA), then they must have a lot of faith in Metchie.
  16. "last best season", meaning they didn't go somewhere else after here and do better. Old man Moore and older man Thielen probably wouldn't have played much on many more rosters at that point in their careers.
  17. If the draft falls like this, they have to get an OT. Unless there's a trade back, then reassess. I don't think Sadiq would be BPA there.
  18. Every WR he's ever played with had their last best season with him. Many had their best seasons ever with him. Just saying.
  19. Nah. In college, Ted Ginn was twitchy, elusive and had world class speed. Like "they thought he would go to the olympics" speed.
  20. Dan and Dave have both said they want to draft an impact player in the first round. The most impactful rookie positions are WR and RB. On defense it's Edge and CB. Can't see a RB at 19. So Edge rusher, CB or WR are the likely options. Oline and DT absolutely are needs. But they wouldn't be impactful this season.
  21. Let's be honest here. We have one WR on this team that would be in the top 3 of ANY other team. And he was a rookie last year. I love Coker but he is an often injured UDFA. He wouldn't have even gotten a chance on other teams. The rookie injury would have bounced him around the league for the next 5 years until he stopped trying to make a roster. It's a numbers game for most teams and he would have (at best) been on some team's practice squad. But Carolina has been so devoid of talent at the position, that we didn't have much of a choice. Bryce leaves a lot of questions but to say he hasn't elevated anyone isn't true. No WR has left Carolina since he's started and did better on another team. Not one. And there are several to choose from. Coincidence? Maybe. Probably not.
  22. If they have a 2015 defense and BY leads them to a top 10 pick, his days would be numbered. But no QB is going out there making perfect passes and reads every play. Can't expect to win a lot of games when every TD takes 15+ plays. Gotta have some explosive players on offense.
