  1. That would make sense, since the Bears have enough cap to sign him long term. If Burns is worth 2 (1sts) and a 2nd, then we'd only need to give up the 9th pick and Burns to make it happen - right?
  2. It'll take a lot more than 2 (1sts), a second and a fifth to move up to #1. A lot more. The Bears likely wouldn't move back as far as #9 anyway. They've gotta be targetting Carter or Anderson, so can't drop out of top 5. If CJ or Young somehow falls to around 4 or 5, then make a move. Still need another pass rusher, TE and ILB. Can't give up a whole draft hoping that a Mahomes is gonna be the prize. Rather solidify 2-4 other glaring holes and work with a vet QB for now. Not ideal, but makes more sense. Anything short of a Mahomes-level QB would be a fail. Too many deficiencies to overcome for a just good QB.
  3. I think trade down and grab Maher and a stud WR. Zay may slip because of his size, but he's gonna be a baller. Use some of those CMC picks to come back and get him or Quentin if necessary.
  4. Reich shouldn't feel the need to reach for a QB. If Stroud or Young falls in his lap, then pull the trigger. Otherwise go with guys more likely to help the team. Honestly would rather take the next Kuechly, Olsen, or Smitty than a project at QB.
  5. Either way you're getting a project QB. Get a super star at a position of need (that actually helps a QB), maintain draft capital, and acquire more upgrades at positions of need.
  6. This! If there was a Cam, Luck, Lawrence in this draft I'd be all for it. Giving up important capital just to say you picked a QB high in the draft is not smart to me. Still doesn't solve the problems we have at WR, Center, ILB, TE, Pass rusher, etc.
  7. Opportunity cost is a real thing. Giving up all kinds of draft capital to acquire a huge project at QB, when Quentin Johnston is just sitting there at 9 for the taking.
  8. I get the sentiment but Hurney was mostly gold with those first picks. Unfortunately everything after that was a$$. I'd hire Hurney for the 1st round, then kick him out of the building for the rest of the draft.
  9. Even after Cam won league MVP in 2015, it never occurred to Ron/Hurney that we could be an offense-first team. See 2016 draft. First 4 picks were a scramble to replace CB. Not to upgrade the reason they actually lost the SB.
  10. So who are the safe choices? Give me 3 or 4 to investigate please.
  11. Bruh?!! It's too late to run my blood pressure up like this!
  12. Chris Harris was so underrated here. One of my oldest jerseys.
  13. Wish we had a Marvin Harrison for him to throw to
  14. Agree. I like the idea that we have an owner that doesn't mind spending for coaching. He fell for the okey doke, but he's learning. I'd rather strike out swinging for the fences than softly hitting in to a 6-4-3.
  15. Byron Bell was UNDRAFTED. Nate Chandler was an UNDRAFTED Defensive Tackle. Became a starting RT in the NFL after playing the position for less than 1 year. How does someone do something for less than a year and is allowed to compete against the best in the world at what they do? And he wasn't a good enough athlete to even be drafted. They did Cam so dirty. Should have just drafted Von Miller or JJ Watt if they were gonna ignore the offense.
  16. Yes! Wilks is a good coach. I agree. But which coach do you have more confidence in training a young QB and installing a new offense - including game time adjustments? And the defense lost to Tampa. More specifically, the defensive secondary. No adjustments were made to stop Brady from throwing easy lobs to Evans when every one in the stadium knew the corners couldn't cover him.
  17. Wilks is a good coach. His personnel changes led to a revamped run game. Rhule wasn't able to revive the run game during his entire tenure in Carolina with the same available personnel sitting on the bench. However the offense became one dimensionable. Unable to overcome a defensive gameplan that could effectively shut down the run. Perhaps he had a plan to address those deficiencies, but it was always gonna be theoretical only. Reich is the better choice if the plan is to develop an offense and a QB. And not gonna lie. The way the team lost to the Bucs was in an area directly in Wilks' supposed specialty - defensive secondary. In a game that would have put the team in the playoffs, that was not a good look. Not to mention the conservative approach on 4th downs.
  18. Moore could easily fit in to the Deebo/CMC mold. Always thought he wasn't being properly utilized here. He's much more versatile. Add in Shenault with CMC and this offense was a TE away from SF level playmakers. Shanahan would have made those guys household names.
  19. I've been saying this for YEARS! It never seems like the Panthers never run rub routes or concepts that scheme guys open. Seems like it's always individual routes where they have to beat the man covering them in a vacuum. This is so refreshing. Welcome to the NEW NFL Carolina. Now let's get another WR or 2 to make the transformation complete. This level of scheming doesn't require the #1 or #2 QB in the draft.
  20. People really don't give the Bengals receivers the credit they deserve. Burrow is really good, but those receivers make his life a lot easier.
  21. I think coaches that are successful with multiple teams because they're able to handpick their teams. Hard to find a coach that turns around multiple bottom feeders.
  22. That can not happen. Every team remaining has a HC with an offensive background.
  23. Oh heck no, I don't think Jimmy is very good. He was the biggest hinderance to that offense. Purdy is definitely better extending plays. Jimmy has better command of the offense though. But to be fair, he should.
