  1. Didn't Zavala play LG with Icky at LT at NC State? Wouldn't that make more sense?
  2. From my POV, it looked like AR slowed down before crossing the LOS. If so, he learned a valuable lesson. Cam learned the same one.
  3. Don't see it that way. I think Bryce is not on the same page with his WRs yet. He's seeing things they aren't. Once they start working together, we'll see the offense improve. This defense is good enough to win games - as long as they don't allow the CBs to lose games.
  4. Michigan needs to keep feeding Blake Corum. Bad things happen when he isn't getting the ball. They really aren't that good.
  5. I agree that a Tedd Ginn Jr. forces defenses to respect the deep ball. He was a 50/50 catch guy but you had to respect his speed every play. A safety had to stay over the top because your CB was not gonna be able to run with him if he was within 10 yards of the LOS. Bates wouldn't have had the option of cheating up if there was a guy that made him stay deep. Hopefully Chark can fill that role. If not, then the FO needs to find that guy. Even Byrd would have helped yesterday.
  6. Instant gratification will not apply with this team, or with Bryce. He'll have some good games and he'll have some bad ones like Sunday. The team will lose because of him and they'll win because of him. Hopefully the wins begin to outnumber the losses sooner rather than later, but he'll need to develop experience before that happens. He was Bated (pun intended) by a vet yesterday due to lack of experience. Other than those few plays, he looked good enough to start. No QB makes every read and every throw. And he has plenty of arm strength to be effective. Take your lumps early and reap the benefits later. Oh and develop these young WRs. They are not helping the cause.
  7. I love Jake Delhomme! Dude was a firecracker and a great leader. I guess it was his inconsistency. Some days he looked like a top 5 QB and other days a bottom 5. Delhomme was like a box of chocolates. When he was on, he was ON! But when he wasn't...
  8. I just remember most of those comeback victories being needed because Jake threw untimely INTs. He took way too many chances with the ball. That's why he fell off the cliff so badly when he lost his zip. That was his game. And it wasn't just Smitty. It was Smitty and Moose.
  9. Oh I don't care enough about Jones to defend him. I'm just being objective about THIS game. Is he a great QB? Heck no. Is he the reason they're getting their ish pushed in right now? No. No he isn't.
  10. He was the right QB for this team. He gave no fuggs about putting it up for grabs for Smitty and Moose. Gunslinger. That worked for that team.
  11. Jake Delhomme wasn't a good QB. He was a gunslinger on one of the most complete teams in the NFL.
  12. He was running well early in the game. The Cowboys adjusted. He isn't a RB. That's what Saquon is for. They can't run the ball and every time he drops back, someone is in his face. His first INT should have been a fumble by Saquon. A QB can't win by himself and his team isn't helping him right now.
  13. Throwing flys isn't the only way to beat bump. If your guys can't beep press, then rub routes and screens go along way into backing the DBs off a little. Instead of spreading out the trips, stack them. Keep the defense guessing - a couple of rub routes will do that.
  14. I think Jones is doing the best that can be expected with the constant pressure he's getting. He's taking a beating and the 2nd quarter just started. His team is killing him and he's trying to force plays now that they're down big so early.
  15. Watching the Cowboys/Giants. Amazing the difference a playcaller makes. No one can get open? Let's just stack/bunch trips and run rub routes. How about that?
  16. Honestly... Reich got figured out early. Had a good drive in the 2nd, but that was it. Maybe they can be prepared to let Brown take over if he's not figuring out how to get guys open. Young had plenty of time. He was scanning the field, but couldn't find anyone to throw the ball to. That's playcalling. Playcalling and below-average route runners that can't get separation without the scheme doing it for them.
  17. Atlanta's defense is legit. They won the game today. That and their run game. Worst case scenario against this team.
  18. Ridder played about as safe a game as possible. His first 7 completions were for like 6 yards.
  19. I just hope Bryce doesn't have to go an entire career throwing into tight coverage like Cam did. Better WRs or better play calling.
  20. Yeah, I'm not discouraged by his performance. Bates is a really good vet safety. Of course he's gonna outsmart a rookie QB a few times.
  21. Not worried about the lose. It happens. Heck even Mahomes lost to the Lions. Bigger concern is WRs and playcalling. I know KC isn't just gonna sit on their hands with that WR situation. But at least they can get open. They just can't catch for ish.
  22. No one is open. No one. Come on Reich! Can we get a stack or something?
  23. Only scoring 10 is not what I wanted to see this game. Losing 30 - 35 would have been a lot better to me, signifying a change in style. Looks a lot like the same now.
