Oh I think he was, and I don't blame him one bit. You play silly games, you get silly prizes. Dead man sideline. Bryce didn't slow down like that the next time he ran to the sideline though.
-
I don't blame him for pushing Bryce either. But it was intentional. He saw BY going out of bounds and he intentionally pushed him. The Stroud one wasn't intentionally a big hit. He just couldn't overcome the laws of physics. He tried though.
-
One was intentional and the other was a guy spinning his entire body around to AVOID the hit.
-
I agree. That wasn't a dirty hit. He actually made contact with his back and knocked Stroud's head onto the ground. He was trying to turn away from the hit but had too much momentum. Dumb, but not dirty. The guy that pushed Bryce saw him going out of bounds and decided to shove him for good measure. 100% intentional.

Looks like he saw the safety and wanted to lob it to Legette's outside shoulder at the pylon. Wind killed it and moved it in towards the field of play. Probably could have fired it like he did at Miami. Low and to a spot. Bad decision to lob it in that wind and it was a little wobbly out of his hands.
-
He needs to take shots downfield. Period. He actually isn't as bad with intermediate throws as some give him credit for. But dinking down the field is too many plays and opportunities for something to go wrong. They need chunk plays from the passing game. He can throw deep enough. He just doesn't.
-
Yeah, but he threw it when XL was on the 7 yard line. A dart would have been to a different location. He was trying to lob it to the back pylon but the wind took it off course and wobbled it even more than it already was. A tighter spiral on the lob or a throw similar to the TD he threw to XL against Miami would have been better. Gotta learn from that. I don't think he lobbed any more in the game.

They'll bring him back unless they can replace him with a true future-of-the-franchise. I doubt he's extended on a new contract though. If he is, it won't be a crippling one. He can't demand top dollar. They'll let him explore FA to determine his real worth.
-
I mean it went horribly wrong. But that angle really shows how much the wind affected that pass! Wow Maybe a tighter spiral wouldn't have been pushed as much though.

Is Canales digging his own grave?
Navy_football replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Are we talking about the same guy that benched his starting QB after 2 games into his first season as HC? That guy is more concerned about feelings than production? I think it's more likely that he thought Chuba AND Rico could be a productive duo. Problem is Rico is way more productive and demands way more carries. Took him 2 games to figure out it wasn't working like he expected so now he's making a change. Usually the simplest explanation is the real reason. -
I think it was a little more than that. Scheme and alignment were predictable with no adjustments. Bills found a play and blocking scheme that worked so they just kept running it until we made them do something else. We didn't. Maybe a run stunt or something where the defenders wouldn't constantly be exactly where you want them.

I'm All In On Drafting a QB in Round 1

Yeah, I don't know about the sneaky speed. Sneaky quickness. Agree with everything else. But he definitely tries to big-man bully DBs. Doesn't always come down with it, but I think he needs more attempts deep to maximize his ability. Hate the way the team uses him as more of an underneath threat. If the defense is in Cover 0 or 1, then check to TMac jump ball. Every. Freaking. Time. -

I'm thinking more of a Mike Evans where he beats you at the top of the route or when the ball gets there. D Hop is a hell of a route runner that'll toast you off the LOS. If TMac becomes that... -

I'm not trying to argue with you, but "billed" vs reality are two competely different things. And it definitely played out to not be a good landing spot for a rookie. -

2023? No. 2025? Yes. Just need some speed on the edges. -

They're very different WRs. One can catch a 5 yards curl and take it 50 yards to the house. That's more of what this team needs. That's more of a Bryce Young WR. He plays the short game. Need guys that scare you after the catch. -

Honestly, on this team, in 2023, only a Lamar Jackson clone would have had any degree of success. -

I think he's a little more dynamic after the catch than Plaxico. But he definitely hasn't reached Plaxico's ability to muscle the ball from DBs. Eli would just throw it up for him everytime they blitzed him. Big Ben did the same thing. -

Agree. No QB in that draft was worth going from #9 to #1. AR has the athletic traits but not the football IQ. -

I agree with this. Also think they really need a speed WR to add to the mix. I don't care how big he is. Just a blue chip WR with speed. -

I don't agree. I love TMac and think he's gonna be a big time WR for this team. Right now he gets fed a ton of targets that helps his stats. He's getting the Adam Thielen treatment. I just don't think he maximizes YAC opportunities, or runs by DBs, or makes the circus catches in games we know he can make. I think he'll put it together, but he ain't there yet. Shakir in Buffalo showed something Sunday we haven't seen a WR do here in a long time. Who's doing that on this team? -
Who was Cam's backup? Derek Andersen. Pat Mahomes? Chad Henne. Josh Allen? Derek Andersen, (yes the same) and Matt Barkley. Burrows? Brandon Allen. They didn't bring in competition either. That's not how this works. Honestly, Dalton is better than all of those guys.
-
Kinda weird that Dalton craps the bed yesterday and it's somehow Bryce's fault? Yall gotta take a step back sometimes and listen to yourselves. If anything, yesterday showed that our oline and WRs aren't nearly as good as you thought they were.
