  1. So you watched those games, and you don't think he played very well? Stats don't always tell the story. Like XL's TD drop to take the lead against PHI at the end of the game. Again. Not about stats. There are a lot of factors that help or take away from QB stats. Do you still think his "physical limitations" prevent him from being a good QB?
  2. Oh I disagree. I completely disagree. He played very well against KC and Philly. They were both in the Super Bowl.
  3. So can we all at least agree that he's physically able to play the position at a high level? There were a lot of weird takes on here before like: 1. he's too short to see the field. all of his passes will be batted down. he'll have to do that hop pass just to get the ball over defenders. he just won't ever be effective passing in the middle of the field. and will never be able to take snaps from under center. 2. he's too small; he'll get injured the first time he's hit; he'll go down whenever he's touched by a defender 3. he's too slow to outrun defensive linemen. he just won't be able to escape the rush or make defenders miss. 4. his arm is just too weak to throw the deep out in tight coverage. or to complete a deep pass Did I miss anything? And he showed he was able to do all of those things his rookie season. Just not consistently. Obviously the problem was always mental. Confidence and trust in his team mates.
  4. That concussion last year was a freak play. With that being said, hopefully he doesn't have an issue with injuries. Because if he stays healthy, he's gonna be a problem. Already has that "it" factor.
  5. It's been mentioned in this thread, yet many are glossing over it... This WR group has a ton of potential. TMAC, XL and Coker, and maybe even Horn as the speed guy will get a ton of snaps in this offense. The reality is that they are all really unproven. Hopefully they're ascending, but we don't know if XL and Coker are maxed out based on last season. TMAC and Horn are ROOKIES. So the only "proven vets" are Thielen, Moore and Renfrow. Not exactly top of the league. Biggest issue being a lack of speed to take the top off of defenses. Say what you want about Tedd Ginn but he was probably the most important receiver on the team in 2015.
  6. Time to move on. Torn achilles at LB at 30+. No Bueno.
  7. I haven't watched a full game, but we know he likes to hit. Damm!
  8. Thought it was a great draft overall. Only thing I probably would have preferred was Billy Bowman and Malachi Moore in the 4th. Wanted Tez, but Horn is a similar receiver type so good with it if they think he's a better fit.
  9. Have the Panthers ever been involved in a draft trade like that before? Times a changing.
  10. Based on who was available at the picks, I'd give it a B. Based on how I think the picks will impact the team, I'd give it an B+. Pass rush improved. Run defense improved. RZ offense improved. Speed/quick twitch receiver addressed but not sure he was the best pick - Tez was available. And still need a ball hawking safety.
  11. Confidence shot. A break and then a lot of practice will fix that.
  12. Tez Johnson going undrafted is silly. Too dependent on friggin RAS!
  13. Yep. But the 3rd/4th option ain't getting paid like that. Marty Hurney wouldn't even do that. Maybe.
  14. I was responding to the small size without straight line speed comment. Being smaller definitely makes you more prone to injuries when you're getting volume catches. He probably wouldn't be that in Carolina. But to be honest, I'd take Tank Dell's 7 games a season over anything our 4th/5th receivers bring to the table over 16 games a season.
  15. Yep. Like Power 5 corner backs. He runs right by them.
  16. Welp can't argue that. But he definitely earns a roster spot on Carolina as the 5th or 6th guy. Beats out David Moore and whoever else we have behind him.
  17. See Tank Dell's combine numbers- size and 40. Tez is actually bigger and they ran very similar 40s. Straight line speed is overrated. Agree that size helps. But that dude is just a football player. And a true wide receiver.
  18. Oh I strongly disagree about making the team on special teams. He's basically Tank Dell. We don't have anyone like him. And haven't for a long time. And Tank's injury was a freak play. Not him getting smacked by a defender. Bad luck more than anything.
  19. Agree. But I also hope he's learning from this experience and not just blaming the "haters". His approach to those draft interviews were not the right way to approach this next step. Be a man. Admit to yourself that you were wrong. Learn and move on.
  20. Quick underneath guy. He didn't prep for the combine like others did. He just ran it raw. 4.5 isn't bad in that context. And he's a true wide receiver. Probably only ever played that position his whole football life. I think Diontae Johnson ran a similar time. He'd eat with the monsters on the outside, and be the Thielen replacement/upgrade this team needs.
  21. That would mean cutting/trading all your vets. Do you really want rookies as starters and backup/rotation guys on both sides of your d line? We'd break our own record for rushing yards allowed.
  22. Didn't know that. I'm liking this PFF guy more and more. I watched games of Shemar from last season, but the guy on the other side kept making plays. I didn't even know who he was. It was Nick Scourton.
  23. Gotcha. He may have just earned himself a bonus/raise/promotion.
  24. Short answer. No. Long answer. He11 to the NO!!
