Camp Observations: Turnovers define the day
Navy_football replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think early on he underestimated the speed of the NFL. But after a couple of games, guys weren't easily just running him down when he escaped the pocket. He's actually a pretty good running QB. Not fast or big, but very elusive. He's shown a unique ability to make guys miss in the open field. Enough where it's an actual thing, not an anomoly. But scrambling and creating something out of nothing (passes) when the play breaks down is probably why he was picked #1 overall. Otherwise, they would have definitely chosen Stroud or even AR. That's the part of his game that you can't teach and what he's probably better at than his classmates - at least in college. -

My dad used to make a mustard and vinegar based sauce! He took that recipe to the grave with him though. But bacon... Do tell sir. Do tell. -

Groins and hamstrings are like the worst friggin injuries. They take forever and probably won't feel "right" for the rest of the season. Next men up. -

And half of the $150M Body Guards. No DJ, no XL, no Damien Lewis, Hunt went out for awhile, and the TEs were short manned. I'd say they should be much better when healthy. Throw in a 2nd round RB by week 4 and who knows? -

Really? I don't remember it that way. Weren't they getting to Bryce with stunts and delayed blitzes all day. So much so that Reich had to stop the second practice early or something? -

Whoever added the music is friggin video genius! Perfecto!

Well compared to last year... they are indeed obscene numbers.

Yeah I figured it out. I don't think you're a bad guy anymore. I think it's just your choice of words that irk me a little. You don't know how to talk to people in a respectful way. I don't think it's intentional. It's cool. I still appreciate you brother. Keep pounding!

Yeah, I don't expect that. Exaggeration for effect.

Yo. I'm diggin Canales right now. I was afraid they'd try to turn him into some kind of pocket passer (which he is not). While Canales and his staff have been working to lower Young's throwing time, the quarterback's physicality and aptitude to make off schedule plays is something they're reminding him he's more than capable of, even at the NFL level. As such, those scramble plays, like the one to Marshall Jr., are ones that Canales wants to see more and more out of Young. "We love emphasizing scrambles whether it comes up in seven-on-seven or any other drill right there," Canales said. "The thought that I have in my mind is always, there are great plays out there. There's explosives that can happen on the second part of the play. "While I would like to see the ball come out in time in those situations, sometimes we get a win on a rush. Sometimes things happen and all of a sudden you got to go to the second play." -
Cool. Let's see then. What if he's on track for that by midseason? Would you acknowledge he's good? Would you, dare I say, root for Bryce for the rest of the season? Let's go baby! I knew you had it in you.
-
some folk will find fault in everything Bryce does. If he passes for 4000 yards and 30 TDs, it'll be because of all they invested to help him - even though this is really still a below average roster. It is what it is.
-
Bro!!! When a linemen gets the ball, it's the best part of the game. Oline, Dline, doesn't matter. Big men showing that footwork is fire!
-
Oh and he was gonna hop step juke #76 if Freeman wasn't being all johnny hustle. He wouldn't let Shy be great (er)!
-
I don't know about shutdown. But you bet not run no screens to his side! Oooo Weee Man!
-
Shy is him!!!
-
True, but I always considered that a team accomplishment more than an individual one. But he did go undefeated to the Super Bowl with Moss, along with his only 50 TD passes too.
-
Respect. I only mentioned Brady because he is widely accepted as the GOAT. And if the GOAT's best season was with a HOF-type WR, then your supporting cast matters, or it wouldn't have mattered.
-
So if he sucked at out routes, then shouldn't he be testing limits with out routes in practice? Or should he just accept that he'll never throw out routes in the NFL? I didn't think he was particularly great at anything either, but to say he was almost picked on every single out route I thought was some real hyperbole. A DT getting an interception is rare. Occasionally happens in games, but thinking Bryce was pushing the limits to throw one in practice. Admittedly, I haven't seen a clip of it so I don't know what happened. Could have been a ball tipped 30 ft in the air for all I know.
