This team is a lot better than last year's team. Hopefully a seasoned vet like Dalton can take advantage of it. FTR, I thought he played really well in that game. But he took too much punishment to survive the season. He would have made it 3 or 4 more games before getting knocked out.

I'll bet they got honest feedback from the team behind closed doors.

Dalton will do fine in this offense. The oline is MUCH better than last year. Much, much, much better! No excuses for Bryce these last 2 games. I don't think Dalton would have made it through the season last year. The protection is there now. There were plays to be made Sunday. He just refused to throw the ball. He's broken.

Bryce Young faced the least pressure of any quarterback this week
Navy_football replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
CRA, we've seen him make those basic throws before. He's hesitating on basic throws. Just not seeing the field - at all. In the words of Sam Darnold, he's seeing ghosts out there. He's broken. -
Bryce Young faced the least pressure of any quarterback this week
Navy_football replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
This was all Bryce Young. He has the yips real bad. Staring at open guys and just refuses to pull the trigger. Guys streaking down the field and won't throw it. He has the arm. He has the speed. He has the tools. He doesn't have the confidence right now. -
Worse To Watch: Jimmy Clausen Era or Bryce Young Era?
Navy_football replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean it has to be Bryce right now. Nobody but Hurney had expectations for Clausen. Bryce was a symbol of hope that we'd finally have a functional offense that didn't rely on a Greek god at QB to bail them out several times a game. -
Honestly think we underestimated the Saints and the Chargers. They're both a lot better than we thought. Also see the Vikings and Raiders.

18 completions for 84 yards is crazy work! -
Prime Cam plugged into this roster what happens?
Navy_football replied to Ricky Prickles's topic in Carolina Panthers
Panthers haven't had effective offensive playcalling or scheming since, ever... Prime Cam and Lamar Jackson are the only QBs that could have success in Carolina right now. -
Yeah these concussions are coming way too easy now. His brain is severely damaged at this point. I've heard that 3 is the magic number for the NFL. He has enough money to live out the rest of his days as a wealthy man. Time to find the next passion.

I know Hamlin felt like ish. Like sick to his stomach.

Tua! Why?! Ironic that it was Hamlin that knocked him out.

About those big money Guards Morgan spent on….
Navy_football replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The first one looked like they weren't on the same page. Johnson cut in just as Bryce released the ball. QB thought he was staying on the seam, but he cut it in at the last second. Second INT was a horrible throw by Bryce. You know you can't lead Theilen like that. You completed 100+ passes to him last season so you know him. No excuses. Probably should have just dumped off to Sanders instead. That was a difficult layered throw, that he overthrew. -

Still figuring out screen shots, but this was only an 8 yards gain. A good RB takes that at least 20. -

I'm about half way through the first half. Bryce wasn't good, but the Saints schooled the Panthers schematically. They were outcoached AND outplayed Sunday. QB had early protection, but most routes were late developing and by the time they were open the protection had already broken down. And when I say open, I mean they were actually looking back for the ball. Evero made a couple of good adjustments on the fly, but for the most part, he was schooled too. Keep Jaycee in tight bump and run. That dude is a menace playing closer to the LOS! Jewell and Shaq were late and slow getting to their gap assignments every time. It's like they think they're Safeties, not LBs. Saints had a hat on every friggin defender when they ran the ball. When they passed, they had a good mixture of early routes and late ones. We seemed to mostly do late routes only. It is bad folks. Really bad. But, luckily that's an easy fix - playcalling. Also need to get WRs to recognize when DBs are blitzing. The Saints went crazy blitzing DBs from all over the field and sending too many guys to account for. In those cases, WRs have to adjust their routes. -
Yep, in hindsight he should have kept Miles over there. But there were 2 WRs on that side. The nearest DB was like 15 yards deep after the guys on the line blitzing. No way he should have blitzed. But he did. They all did. WRs didn't recognize it. I can't put that one all on Bryce. There were plenty of other missed throws that he has to make throughout the game though. But that one, was just being outcoached and unprepared - by the receivers.

Again, I'm not here to argue. The whole team looked like pure dee ish! And Bryce led the charge. But when the oline pushes the dline back 2 yards and it results in a 3 yards run, then... Kamara was making those into 10+ yards runs. Our RBs aren't making guys miss or breaking tackles. Just saying. It ain't only the QB. He's a BIG factor. But it ain't only him. This team is bad. And I don't really appreciate that Army Navy dig. They both run on everybody. We may not win the game, but we're putting up some rushing numbers. -

Jordan Mason is not a nobody. I watched him last year. He was their #3 last season. And he'd definitely be our #1 again this year. He runs violent! I'm not here to argue. The oline pushed the Saints back a number of times. 1 man to beat and you're basically gone. No one could do that. -

Nah bro, he's right. The oline killed the Saints a few times. A real homerun back would have taken it to the house. Too bad we didn't have CMC. -
Yeah, he should have left Sanders on the left side. But to be fair, he probably didn't think everyone was coming like they did. But they didn't have enough blockers on either side, so really more of a pick your poison. He chose wrong. But after the snap, the receivers should have recognized that all of the DBs were blitzing, and broke off their routes.
-
Yeah, he didn't think they were all coming. When they did, the WRs should have broken off their routes. The QB recognized it post snap, but the receivers didn't.
-
I don't think Bryce played well - at all. I thought he missed a lot of throws. But watching the film... I don't know if it was as bad as it looked live. The Saints outcoached the Panthers 100% Sunday. It was bad. On this particular play, the Panthers had numbers on the offensive left side. The WRs never picked up on the fact that it was an all out blitz and ran long developing routes instead of automatically diverting to their "hot" routes. The QB shouldn't necessarily change the play presnap for that. There were 2 receivers on that side and both ran their original routes instead of breaking them off once they saw the DBs blitz. You can see the QB looking to that side waiting on someone to cut off their route. They never did. Should he have left Sanders out there, or maybe even put him on the left side for pass pro instead? In hindsight, he definitely should have. But he probably didn't anticipate everyone actually coming presnap. The adjustment needed to be made post snap in that case, and it wasn't. Not only on the QB here.

Went to a local sports bar with my Panthers "Chris Harris" jersey - usually good luck. Called ahead and got a TV reserved and everything. Sat next to a deaf war vet that happened to be a Saints fan. We had great convo. No one was mean to me. I think they felt sorry for me more than anything. Ran out of there after Saints scored the last TD run with Williams. Completely embarrassed and won't do that again until they show me something. That ish was the worst!
