  1. No Star/Short/Benwikere, Munnerlyn was still considered a liability, Nakamura/Fua/etc., it was a foregone conclusion that Gamble and Anderson were gone that offseason, Norman and Thomas were considered our #1 and #2 CBs... and that was before Norman looked anywhere near as good as he did this season. Hardy is a huge loss, but overall I'd take this D over what we had going into the offseason that year. DT alone was such a huge liability that year that we're extremely lucky we fixed it as well and quick as we did.
  2. Speaking of Wilson's offensive supporting cast, he has what is probably one of the most underrated offensive supporting casts I've seen... maybe ever. A solid offensive line that's great at run-blocking, and average (at worst) in pass protection. Wilson helps hide the pass protection flaws at times, but they also do an equal job in reciprocating that effort by providing good enough protection on a consistent basis. Lynch has been the best RB in the league over the past 3 years. Two solid pass-catching TEs in Willson and Miller. And by far the most underrated WR corps in the league because they're not big time names, and none were high draft picks. Those guys constantly make the craziest clutch plays, get wide open, miraculous circus catches, they somehow consistently bring in the 50/50 jump balls and catching in traffic while also running the scramble drill and coming back to the ball to perfection. Harvin (granted he didn't play much, but he made quite an impact when he did) and Tate were straight up playmakers while they were there too. Tate was a #1 talent putting up #2 numbers while in Seattle. Baldwin is pretty similar IMO. Wilson is a good QB no doubt, but he has a lot more around him aside from a defense, despite what Wilson fanboys and the media say. Just watch some Seattle games and see for yourself.
  3. Those usually make for the best nicknames. It's not like it's anything derogatory or making fun of him. I also think that whole "he doesn't like being called Philly" thing is a tad overblown. Prefers Corey? Sure. But t his friggin' twitter handle is phillybrown10, it's the name he came out as in the draft, and all his teammates call him that. I'm calling him Philly.
  4. I'm never gonna stop calling him Philly. He just needs to embrace it. Philly Brown is a cool ass name.
  5. Clowney's career, as bad as it is to say, is probably virtually over already - at least the high expectations anyways. He has a chance to return to his normal freak athleticism, but it's pretty slim. Microfracture surgery is about one of the worst things an athlete could have done. I feel kinda sorry for him... he should've never tried to rush himself to play.
  6. I'm just here to leave a generic comment
  7. I know everyone talks about how underrated Lavonte David is, but I seriously think the dude has become so "underrated" that he's overrated. PFF turned him into some sort of folk hero in 2013. We in the NFCS (most of us anyways) knew he was a good young LBer after his rooke season, yet nobody really even talked about him until PFF started riding his jock. People who didn't even watch him, just formed their opinion based on whatever PFF said. That's probably my biggest problem with PFF. Don't get me wrong, in watching games you can see he's the dude is a legit good player, but he doesn't seem anywhere near the level the "underrated" crowd hype him up to be. He's a weird case... I've watched him plenty and he never really stands out much at all to me - sometimes none at all, yet by season's end he's racked up stats. For two supposed top of their position HOF caliber players, McCoy being the other, you'd think the Bucs defense would be better than the dogshit it's been the past few seasons. An actual underrated player is Thomas Davis - and this is Panthers bias aside... hardly anyone outside of Panther fans even acknowledge his existence, and he's been playing just as good as David the past 3 years IMO. But anyways, Overrated: Larry Fitzgerald Underrated: Seahawks receiving corps (especially when Golden Tate was still there)
  8. Remmers got beat like a drum against the Seahawks. I'll give him props for coming in and doing better than Chandler, but we shouldn't be completely content like our RT problem is solved. I hope Remmers can be the guy, but I'd keep options open.
  9. Made you a post on /r/panthers over on reddit as well: http://www.reddit.com/r/panthers/comments/2upycr/time_for_another_online_contest_this_time_to_help/ Shoot on over if you want to OP (and upvoting the link there improves visibility for others to see it)
  10. Got a domestic violence case and been in trouble multiple times for smoking weed? So he's pretty much Greg Hardy and Josh Gordon rolled into one. Great talent no doubt, but seems to be a bit of a risk. I don't know.
  11. It's like trying to pick which one of your kids is your favorite wtf I can't
  12. Lol Cam and that damn segway. That's got to be one of the goofiest things I've seen.
  13. I was being a tad bit hyperbolic, but I do think he'll be in the 800-1000 yard range. I agree he's slowed down a lot, but he's also being moved into a far more favorable spot for his skillset and the competition he'll be going against will be a lot less than what he's accustomed to having been a #1 WR his whole career... a #1 WR without a serviceable #2 for the majority of his career ona run-first team at that.
  14. I actually think Smitty is gonna kill it this year. Maybe not like 1300+ yards or anything like that during his prime years, but I believe he'll have a better year than he did last year. He's finally gonna have other threats at WR to take the pressure off of him and he'll be primarily in the slot. He won't be facing the other team's best corners or double covered like he was here with us. I also think the Ravens are transitioning into more of a passing attack this year. He's literally like the perfect slot receiver archetype and would make Wes Welker look like a cheap knock off. He'd be a solid pick up in FF if you were able to get him later on IMO.
  15. Stew played in 6 games last year, all towards the end of the season.
  16. I rewatched a game here a while back and B-Will stood out to me with his blocking. He took a couple of snaps, solely blocking, but he actually did a damn good job. I was under the impression that blocking was his weak point last offseason... so maybe he really came on throughout the season during practices, but the coaches just didn't want to put him out there yet being unproven and all, and the fact we were winning a lot of games.
