I think most people have the same consensus with going Defense 1st but honestly I think this team has been lacking talent for so many years that we could really still go almost any position on the field and truly just keep picking BPA when the Panthers are on the clock. It could be WR at this point or an OL which I would be fine with as long as the impact is immediate. Not to beat a dead horse but a QB has to be chosen sometime within this draft. I really do think BY is so ineffective and inefficient that getting some legit competition outside of just Pickett is a much needed upgrade that DM has to keep up with...... As far as what I would want is outside a QB is someone who can terrorize an Offensive game planners scheme, so whether that is Safety, IDL or my preference in ILB. After this successful FA period for once DM has really set himself perfectly to go BPA and keep this momentum rolling into a season where we FINALLY are hopeful for the future.

Everyone keeps arguing all these teams have great TE's that made them successful. THATS BS! What makes those teams great is QB play and we don't have that. So again even getting a NON-INLINE TE who can run a fast 40 time isnt going to get us anywhere without competent QB play consistently. Which we don't have by a long shot. So honestly all these great teams have a TE argument doesnt hold water to me. Mahomes would be nasty without Kelce, Lamar would blow you away without Andrews, does it help? of course any weapon will help but only if you have someone making those correct reads week to week. When we have that then I'd be all in on a game breaking TE but unfortunately we are stuck with one of the most inconsistent starting QB's currently in the NFL. Not to mention all the TE's mentioned are COMPLETE TE's not just a receiving threat with drop issues which Sadiq does. Argue all you want but nothing will change that fact other than getting a consistent QB week to week in a Panthers uniform which doesnt seem to be happing anytime soon.

I've watched enough BY Panther games to know he ain't it regardless of whatever PFF numbers ppl look at. Drafting a non-inline TE isn't going to help. You obviously feel different but until we get a legit QB I don't see spending another 1st rd pick on a weapon that his limitations won't be able to utilize properly. This team with sure will and some luck got us to the playoffs not QB play by far. People have quickly forgotten this obviously

My logic is BY can't hit the broad side of barn most the times or even get the ball out. So what's the point of drafting a player that high that won't get the most out of him. Especially when we still need more on the OL to protect his 5'9" frame

YES BY is not the answer and everyone who says different has a short term memory on all the horrible game play he has put on film. At times its bad like REALLLLLY BAD.

No offense but if anyone can look at BY stats or just watch a game for the last 3 years and determine he's "not bad" than I personally wouldn't trust their assessment of talent. Backup level at best. You're right my problem is more with BY than the player because if you draft a TE that high you need to get the most out of that pick (Warren/Bowers) and I have ZERO faith that BY could do that or this offensive coaching staff for that matter.

Our Offense needs a QB. What good are weapons when we cant use them? We have stop gap deals at 2 main OL position not to mention no depth, so IMO no we dont have an offense line we have the makings of one but not complete by anymeans.

Watch out for Metchie, this may be one of the most over looked but one of the best FA signings so far. Tmac, Coker and Metchie imo is a legit WR rotation than we have had in a long time.

WE HAVE A 5'9"QB THAT AVG LESS THAN 200YRDS A GAME! A TE is not going to move the needle one way or another IMO. If we had a legit threat at QB I'd say sure but nah man a TE is not going to help BY. We NEED to have the best OL just to give mini mouse at QB the possibility of success. Wtf do people think a fast, not completely well rounded TE is going to do to fix that problem when he wont be able throw it because we have holes still along the offensive line.

I would be all for taking a Safety that high because I believe with an intelligent DC a roaming Safety (whatever name you want to call it) can completely change the ways you can attack and neutralize an Offensive gameplan. See Nick Emmanwori effects on Seattle back end defense scheme most recently. Unfortunately I don't have that much faith with our current defensive coaching staff to get that type of immediate return and effectiveness out of that position and in return wasting that kind of draft capital. We wouldn't get the most out of a 1st Rd Safety compared to a OT, IOL, TE, ILB, DL or EDGE with our current coaching staff in my opinion. So i doubt we go this route but I wouldn't hate it.

Wouldn't be mad at least 3 of our picks on Olineman at this point. With a micro mini QB you need a solid depth line......

Edmunds, Okereke, Wilson, Ellis, Milano, Anzalone, Lloyd and others would be a complete upgrade compared to what is currently rostered, so if this team doesn't see an immediate upgrade at this POSITION OF NEED early in FA than my faith in DM would be lost. I don't think he will disappoint and makes a splash with retooling our LB room and bringing back the glory that is LB play with the Carolina Panthers. Cuz GOD DAMNIT do I miss hard hitting LB/Defensive play that made me fall in love with this franchise........

BY is not a starting QB in the NFL anyone who disagrees with that is either A. Doesn't no poo about football or B. Doesn't watch any Panthers football. His stats are pathetic, his play mostly is pathetic. Get competition in here at QB and shut up all the BY supporters for once. It's getting god damn ridiculous at this point
