Name something specific that would get you pumped for this season
jfo89 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s as if the 2 are correlated. -
Reminds me of a less corny Russel Wilson.
-
If I’m making the pick, I don’t want any of the QBs at 6. Even in a trade down I would prefer Linderbaum.
-
Fit has no power. His current role is essentially a scouting manager. He has relationships in the NFL that make trades possible, and Rhule decides how to use those relationships.
-
Give me Travis Jones
-
Looks like another 18 weeks of heavy day drinking.
-
Yep Rhule made his bed with the Darnold trade now let him lie in it. Like it or not, talent evaluation and player development are part of being a head coach. If you’re poor at both then you’re not qualified for the job.

Antonio Brown wants to sue the Bucs for... trying to help him?

Right but this was after they fired him. That offer wasn’t made in season when he was still on the team. -

I agree that he needs help with his mental health, but this seems like a smart but messed up tactic from the bucs. They’re trying to discredit him in case he files a wrongful termination lawsuit. -
Trading Back-What could we get for the #6 pick? Is it worth it?
jfo89 replied to Michael G's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wouldn’t want to put a rookie behind this line as it stands now. Let Sam earn the $18 million, build the line as much as possible, and take a QB with the high draft pick next year. -

Minnesota and Cleveland seem like the most realistic options since there are QB needy teams currently drafting in front of them. I wouldn’t want to do it for less than a 2nd and 3rd, or a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year. -
What I want is to run it back and take it on the chin for one more season while building the O line. What tepper wants is Watson and asses in the seats. Rhule probably wants is Pickett. Fits probably wants to separate himself from the decision because I think next season is going to be rough no matter which way we go.

We’re guaranteed to get fu**ed

John Ellis reporting Fitterer and Rhule will meet with media today
jfo89 replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
After listening to Fits presser it's pretty clear that Pickett has already been discussed. -

I want to preface this by saying that I don't like Matt Rhule as an NFL coach and i want him fired asap. But, if the panthers were to hire an OC, an OL coach and someone on the defensive staff all with solid NFL experience (hopefully HC experience), I think Rhule could become a competent coach. I do think it would take until year 5 or 6 of his contract though. -
The players look underprepared and uninterested. The personnel decisions have been awful. The lack of NFL experience is glaring. Of course that's only fixed by gaining more experience, but fans don't want to watch 5 years (or however long it takes) of losing for Rhule to figure it out. At least 1 of his coordinators should have been NFL coaching veterans, preferably with some head coaching experience.
-
On that note, what names do you think Daboll would bring along with him if he was hired as HC?

Another Thing that Bugged Me About Rhule (Miller>Scott)
jfo89 replied to Castavar's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was on the final play. Guess who? -
I'm generally optimistic too, but it is a little concerning that he has no answers for any of the losses. "Credit to the other team" and "They haven't shown that on tape before" just make it look like he has no plan. The lack of in game/halftime adjustments also make it seem like he's in over his head.
-
I'm referring to the coaching blunders during the Rivera years. The playoff appearances were almost in spite of the coaching.
-
Is this supposed to be a positive? I dont think anyone wants to re-live the Rivera years.
-
Really, you think he played decent? Are you a friend or relative?

The protection was dogshit. Christensen and Daley couldn't block semen with a contraceptive.
