  1. 44-5, and 26-0 at home, never a season with double digit INTs. And I like the RAS measurables, its why I'd be ok with a later day 3 selection while filling out our roster. I think we could approach winning with this formula having picks in the 1st and 2nd to add OL, etc.
  2. I think I'm completely out on QB at sixth overall... I'm not impressed by a guy that took 5 years to make a name in college (Pickett). I'm at least intrigued by Willis, but six is a high price with no current 2nd or 3rd round selections. Corral's frame gives me some pause, he's very slim, so durability over 17 games long term is something I battle with in relation to him. This leads me to Ridder, 40+ wins as a starter, and is trending upwards but is likely not viewed as a 1st rounder based on reports. Desmond Ridder : I think this guy is the move, he's as athletic as any QB in the draft and allows him to elude the rush behind what stands to prove to be an improved OL at the very least from C to RG. He also has the size / frame to get a little bigger, and he has the arm and accuracy to make all the throws at each level of the field. Signing Cam, and just getting what we can, or even just releasing Darnold is the ''ripping off of the band aid'' this team needs. There is nothing to gain from his presence here. Cam rejuvenates the fan base, roster, and gives a legit chance to win games behind an improved OL / roster with actual time to come in and learn the actual offense / build rapport. This allows Ridder to acclimate to the NFL at a pace with less required of him initially and also leaves us with a plan moving forward. I just personally think using the value the 6th has to continue to further solidify the roster is the best move, while having a QB on a rookie deal to move forward with for the next 4 to 5 years so you have the cap / resources to build the best possible roster to compete.
  3. The owner isn't negotiating... GM, and other front office staff negotiate, and that is via the agent. Robbie or likely any player is going to take the agents advice / weigh options. So that's not really a concern.
  4. Pretty sure he is referencing the 3rd year under Rhule, his other profile photo was like a red-shirt, so this doesn't seem like an issue...
  5. I don't think he's going top 5, safeties just don't have top 10 pick impact. QB / LT / Pass Rusher Edge or Interior Those are the top three positions you HAVE to get right. JAX - Hutchinson seems like a lock here (Cam Robinson FT'ed, and Taylor on a rookie deal still) DET - Needs Edge over QB, and OL (Goff, Sewell, Decker) HOU - Needs OL and Edge NYJ - Edge (they've added some good young OL last draft -- Beckton, Verah-Tucker) NYG - Need OL and Edge __________________________________________________________ That leaves us at #6 We will have our pick of the QB's, and possibly one of the top 3 LT's is my guess.
  6. This, and I'm NOT a fan til' proven other wise, he seems like just an average NFL QB, no skills / attributes that he offers elite status in which lowers the potential to be really good at the NFL level. Most scouts reference ''enough'' arm strength / athleticism, and I'm not a fan of him being I believe 24, or he'll be turning 24 during TC (Darnold is 24, and has 4 years in the NFL already). I'm not a fan of old rookie QBs -- we're not a playoff competitor with Pickett, so give me upside in a draft pick over the best on day 1, but likely not the best over time.
  7. He's not a ''true LB'er'' he was there because we had NOTHING behind Shaw after Luke retired. With Woods, Chinn will see plenty of ''box'' time as the strong safety position versus being the deep free safety. I dunno why people are so caught up on ''LB'' for him, it's a waste to ask him to engage OL, and shed blocks when it's obvious his speed / pursuit while kept clean is where he excels. Littleton / Wilson / Luvu alongside Shaq will be fine, this allows a more ''versatile'' role for Chinn to play off of that.
  8. What I recall is Hurnwy wanted to trade back, but Rhule wanted Brown. I don’t recall any trade up reports.
  9. You know there was a time when black people couldn't QB, or win SB's -- there is always going to be a 1st, this antiquated way of thinking needs to go on somewhere. We'd have won with Cam if we'd actually decided to game-plan versus the best pass rusher in the league at that time. "Cotchery Caught It'' as we all the NFL making sure they sent Peyton out on a high into the sunset.
  10. Depth, thats what the last two are. Why are people tripping on cheap depth
  11. https://twitter.com/Panthers/status/1507145265647607808?t=6Y0Y9nTVraBlP8JjZyQbOA&s=19
  12. Later in the draft where we currently don't have a day 2 pick
  13. To me the Darnold ship has sailed, improved OL or not, he's just not worth it. Rookie deal, to continue allowing us financial flexibility to keep the best team possible is the move now. Willis, Corral, or Riddell, sign Cam for 1 to 2 years, and find a salary dump for Darnold.
  14. Trevor IMO was more hype than anything, the freshman year catapulted things, and the national media ran with it from there. I think he checks all of the boxes, but I don't think he excels at anything in particular or is elite, I just think he's good prospect that checks all the boxes. TBF JAX roster had a lot of work / still needs said work, and they had a joke of a coach this past season, so he's not a bust, I simply think he's not as good as a guy like Luck was coming out of Stanford.
  15. Defense has options... 3-4 LB - Burns / Wilson / Thompson / Haynes, Luvu (YGM also had some 2pt stance reps at Penn St) DL - Io / Brown / Nixon (YGM) 4-3 LB - Littleton / Wilson / Thompson (Luvu as the rotational guy) DL - Burns / Io / Brown / YGM Nickel & Nickel (Pass anticipated) LB - Littleton (Chinn on occassion) / Thompson DL - Burns / Io / Brown / YGM >>> Burns / YGM/ Brown / Haynes (Luvu) _________________________________________________________________ I like the personnel in all of these, again I still standby adding one of the three I mentioned previous preferably. Lazy or not Clowney produces / plays the run excellent / typically leads in pressures. He likely gets the 1yr deals as teams know to keep him motivated he has to be playing for that next 1yr deal.
  16. Based on signings like Wilson, and Littleton, I think we see a trend back towards more DE's as the edges in our fronts versus an EDGE LB'er. With that in mind YGM is the immediate beneficiary, and in Nickel fronts / pass downs -- Haynes / Luvu will spell. I think we continue to see hybrid fronts. I am also not against adding -- Clowney / Ingram / Hughes as veterans to add to the rotation.
  17. This was what I was going to say ^^^^ get results or get replaced.... Yes new coaches ''like their guy'' but if you have a young promising player that usually is not an issue...the ''my guy'' stuff I feel generally surrounds two scenarios... 1) Declining / Injured Vet like we saw with Cam's exit 2) Young QB close to the end of his rookie deal where the team is in position to draft a new one
  18. Outside of Darnold last off-season was pretty solid. The OL signings flopped, but there wasn't a good class. Seems more like they banked on trait, and former draft status and failed. However Reddick, and Fox helped the defense, the Perryman signing was good but cutting him wasn't. Dan Arnold was good but Tremble was better than expected and they turned him for Henderson. Getting a shot at Gilmore for a future late wasn't bad either. Its just Darnold was SOOOOOO BAD, then mismanaging Cam again.
  19. To be clear I do believe he was employed the last two seasons, most recently with Dallas as a offensive consultant or something to that effect. I think the point is he should be better than Brady, and Matt's former roommate.
