  1. Yeah, I like that situation a lot better than most. At this point for me, I’d rather not entertain any QB this year. I’m exhausted with Cam, Teddy, Darnold, and now Watson. They should take a breath and take BPA at 6, make Rhule play Darnold and then next year let the new coach/staff pick their QB via trade/free agency/draft. I have absolutely no faith in this regime to pick a QB and neither should anybody. Mid-late rounds, whatever.
  2. Actually, in the NFL, records are the only thing that matters.
  3. Allen is 8-28 as a HC…. He’s basically a skinny Matt Rhule…
  4. What do the Saints have to offer? They have the same amount of 1st rounders as we do except our current 1st is a lot better. They don’t have the stud rookie contract players we do. It’s also a push on on the teams being better and both coaches suck. I don’t understand that one.
  5. Who are you and why should I believe you? Trust me, I WANT TO BELIEVE!
  6. I’d also add that Brady takes up 7 of those 20 Super Bowls. He has constantly taken pay cuts so more money can be allotted to other players on the team. Part of that is wanting to win, but the other part is he has a wife worth almost half a billion so it’s easier to take less money versus any other QB in the league.
  7. I’m talking about without a franchise QB. If you go back and look I actually used Cincy as an example of being irrelevant until Burrow. They have had top picks for YEARS. That didn’t matter until Burrow came around. Sure, it’s possible the Panthers could find a franchise QB sometime between now and 3 years, but our organization hasn’t shown it can scout the QB position and I don’t trust this organization when it comes to unproven QBs…. Call me crazy, but I don’t see any of these draft eligible QBs as game changers.
  8. I’d agree with most of what you said, but do you really have confidence in this organization to build that way? Do you have confidence that they’ll build this team like that? Hell, we’ve been trying to build the O-line for the better part of a decade. We’ve had top 10 picks 3 out of the last 5 years. 4 out of 6 if you count this year. All for what? Another 5 win season? As I stated before, Watson has 10+ years of prime football left. This team isn’t ready now and it won’t be ready for another 3 years with or without Watson. Why not get the franchise QB box marked off? Even if we make the best picks we possibly could the next 2/3 years, it won’t matter.
  9. Absolutely, this staff has shown it doesn’t know how to evaluate unproven QBs. For me it’s either trade for Watson or draft a OL at 6 and let the new regime pick their guy next year.
  10. You’re absolutely right. It’s not just QBs…. but the hardest thing to get in the NFL is a franchise QB. The same teams are always having the most success and the same teams are always having the least amount. The successful teams have a QB. Watson could have over 10 years left. That’s plenty of time to build around him. Good luck us building around a unproven rookie QB.
  11. LOL! Before Cam, how much success did we have? How much success did the Bengals have before Burrow? How much success did Kansas City have before Mahomes? How much success did the Bills have before Allen? Should I go on or are you going to die on the hill that franchise QBs aren’t the most important part to have on a NFL team?
  12. I meant in terms of success. Without a franchise QB, you see no success. With one, you actually have a chance. You posted all the negatives over Cam’s career with the team, but not once how he elevated them. My point is, a franchise QB eliminates flaws within a team. An average QB can’t do much for you. Look at the Bengals this year and look at us the last 5 years.
  13. On Twitter she said she thought it would move quickly…. As in resolution on Sunday.
  14. Yeah, but does not having a franchise QB give you all that Cam did provide?
  15. I just don’t see Pittsburg. Texans have to sign off as well and with interest coming from Carolina, Seattle, Eagles, and Tampa I can see them saying, “Here’s your choices.” Just like it being reported that the Bears offered more than the Broncos for Russel. He ended up in Denver because it’s out of the NFC.
  16. I want to believe! Can you give any insight as to why that is? Also, these court proceedings don’t change that with other teams wanting to jump in? Thanks!
  17. I understand you people not wanting Watson for his off the field stuff or because what we’d have to trade for him, but to say he’s not that good? You guys have some short memories if you don’t think he’s that good. Not to mention the piles of sh*t QBs we’ve trotted out the last 3 years…
  18. It makes sense, if you don’t think about it.
  19. We’ve had assets the last 4 years. Look how many we had in last years draft alone. It doesn’t matter. Look at the Jets, Commanders, Broncos, etc. They’ve had assets and a very good overall roster. Doesn’t matter without the QB. Then look at the Bengals. Not the greatest roster, but they have the QB.
  20. Okay, but you still watch the NFL. If you worked for a company that had a co-worker who got sexually assaulted by a guy in another department and they didn’t do anything about it would you brush it off because it was t people in your department?
  21. How do you f*ck something that’s already f*cked up? Watson’s legal issues aside, a franchise QB gives you a chance. We have nothing until that position is filled.
  22. This is the crap I don’t understand. Why do you even watch the NFL then? There’s 100’s of cases over the years of NFL players doing horrible things. On and off our teams. You didn’t watch the Super Bowl? You’re okay with what the Bengal’s RB did to that woman? You’re okay with OBJ beating a woman? That’s like saying, “I don’t care if someone else beats their wife as long as my son doesn’t.” Why does your morality stop at the Carolina Panthers? You still support the business that the Panthers are in. Stop with the self-righteous bull crap. Either take your stand for women/people and quit watching/supporting the league or quit acting like your some great person that has morals that will stop you from supporting the Panthers.
  23. Any stat improvement is good, IMO. I don’t really question anything too much on Willis. He is who he is as a prospect… Patrick Mahomes percentage at Texas Tech was 56%, 63%, and then 65%. 65% vs 64% isn’t a really a difference. No one questions Mahomes’ accuracy. Willis is one of the biggest Boom or Bust prospects I can remember in a long time at the QB position. I truly believe his success is going to hinge on what franchise he ends up at. For that reason, I don’t like him in Carolina. This regime hasn’t shown they can develop any sort of QB. Now if he ends up in Minnesota, Pittsburg, Tennessee, or TampaI believe his chances of being a legit NFL QB will be a lot better.
