  1. I’ve been waiting to be surprised the last 3 years. I was hoping to be surprised by Teddy, Sam, and now Mayfield. I hope to eat the hell out of crow.
  2. As you can see in my last post… I agree, but people are comparing Mayfield to that one guy and he isn’t that. He’s not Allen, Mahomes, Jackson, Wilson, Brady, Rodgers, etc.
  3. That’s exactly my point though. You listed a bunch of sh*t QB rooms. You then proceed to say you need to have a QB 1. Mayfield isn’t A Mahomes or a Stafford. Mayfield is a Winston, Goff. In the end, Mayfield isn’t that guy. So I’m dumbfounded as to why we’d bring him in other than Rhule being able to get to 7/8 wins to save his job.
  4. I think that’s the problem most of us have that don’t like this trade. The people in charge of this organization have shown us failures over and over with their QB selections. Teddy, Sam, Cam, etc. I was joking with my brother last week that if this staff wants a QB you can almost guarantee they’re going to be bad. A lot of us have hope in that family member that is a constant f*ck up, but deep down we know they won’t change. You can be a fan and also have realistic expectations.
  5. But you’re taking snaps away from Corral no matter how you slice it. A lot of people like myself don’t see Mayfield as the answer. So why bring him in? Just because he’s a better than Darnold?
  6. How the NFL works? What re-tread QB’s have been super successful in the NFL? In the NFL you have to have elite QB play to win a Super Bowl. A lot of people here have been so used to horrible play that they’re more than ready to settle for mediocrity.
  7. You’ll be hard pressed to find a QB room worst than ours. The ones you do find, we might be slightly better, but the fact that you’re even comparing them shows how bad it is.
  8. Yeah, I just don’t like that. How excited will this fan base be if they’re a 7-9 win team? Even with Baker against our schedule it’s hard to think we’re more than that. What will excite this fan base is having a legitimate franchise QB. Quit wasting resources grabbing these retread QBs who aren’t that. It’s year 3 with this staff. Cut Cam, bring in Teddy, cut Teddy, bring in Darnold, bring back Cam, start Darnold, etc. I don’t trust this staff with any QB decisions at this point. Let Rhule and co run with what we got. From past acquisitions at the QB position this staff wanting Baker all but solidifies that he sucks.
  9. Yeah, my whole thing is what’s the point in drafting Corral then? If we wouldn’t of drafted Corral and traded assets to get him I’d be more opt to go and get Baker. So now we trade assets to get Corral AND assets to get Baker. That’s just dumb. Personally, I don’t/didn’t want Baker in any scenario because I don’t believe he’s a franchise guy. In today’s NFL, you’re not winning a Super Bowl without a franchise QB. If Baker was any good, the Browns wouldn’t of traded away the farm for a QB who might not see a football field again.
  10. Well, Thomas has 4 TDs for his entire career, so call me crazy for thinking any QB or coach can make him that much better. We still don’t know about Tremble and he’s super young. I agree that the Brown’s roster wasn’t what the Bucs or Rams have been recently, but they were above average. Above average offensive and above average defense. The difference in winning playoff games and Super Bowls is having a QB that makes his team better. Mayfield isn’t that. So again, no point in bringing him here. Sure, they beat the Steelers on the playoffs but KC beat them. KC only scored 22 points. That’s a hell of a defensive performance against Mahomes and that roster.
  11. Chub missing 2 games is “several”? Why bring that up when we have a RB that has missed 23 games in 2 years? Hell, you made my point about TE. Hooper and Njoku is 1000x better than all of our TEs. My point is even if our roster is EQUAL to the 2020 Browns(it’s not), why do you think Baker can come in here and do something when he’s proven he can’t with an equal roster with better coaches?
  12. I’m not here to say how good all those guys are, but how are they compared to our guys? I personally like OBJ more than Moore, but for argument sake, lets call them a wash. Landry is better than Anderson. Njoku is better than any TE we have on our roster. Sure, lets say McCaffrey is better than Chubb. Chubb is just a notch under McCaffrey but they also had Hunt who is 100x better than any backup RB we have. But most importantly, they had a top 5 offensive line. If any top 15 QB had that offense they’d be staring down a SB run. He had more to work with in Cleveland than 80% of NFL QBs have, including Carolina. If he can’t be the man with that roster, I don’t want him and neither should anybody else. Sure, he’s better than Darnold, but that’s like saying I’m better at running marathons than a paraplegic. Quit trading away assets and taking snaps away from other players. Roll with Darnold and let Corral learn at the backup position this year.
  13. Okay, how many “average” defensive ends do we have on this team able to rush the passer? Our best rusher from last year is now in Philly and our best DE is “average” since he ONLY had 9 sacks last year. Our next best rusher had just 3.5 sacks last year. Clowney is an upgrade over any rusher on this team not named Burns. Stop with the ignorance.
  14. People in here make me laugh. 9 sacks last year…. “He sucks!” Good Lord…
  15. He has good form? Dude, he’s barely even played. He couldn’t even win the starting job at Florida and I can’t even tell you who started on Florida’s team this year. He’s going into his 3rd year too. Sure, not many Wilsons/Brees/Jackson’s etc, but I can name a lot of guys 6’3+(Insane physical traits) who haven’t done anything in the NFL. I’m not even arguing if he’s going to be a top pick or not. I’m saying you being down on Corral by comparing him to a kid who can’t even break the depth chart in his 2nd year at Florida is asinine.
  16. You lost me at Anthony Richardson. What has that dude done except look good in a uniform? Seriously, he’s barely even thrown for 600 yards and has thrown 6TDs to 5INT. What about him makes you excited? Again, other than looking good in pads? You lose credibility talking down Corral when in the same breath talk about Florida’s backup QB last year.
  17. The only critique I have is this…. As you stated Baker/Browns only have 1 suitor. They have absolutely 0 leverage. Browns have a choice in either keeping him on the roster, cutting him, or taking the peanuts the Panthers might give them. Let the draft play out and if the Panthers want Baker, offer up a 6th and Darnold. Browns get SOMETHING and both teams take on stupid QB contracts for a year.
  18. Hindsight isn’t 20/20 when you(a bunch of us) knew he sucked d*ck and were pissed we traded for him. Sure, as fans we tried to rally behind him and hoped he panned out, but myself and a lot of others around here knew he was straight ass. Then picking up the 5th year option was just the cherry on top of stupidness.
  19. Why would Philly trade yo to 6 though? Maybe if a Ja’Marr Chase was sitting there, it would make sense, but whoa would Philly trade up for? I just don’t see. I don’t want us to trade up either. Either take the QB at 6 or don’t. I’m honestly hoping Neal or Ikem is somehow at 6.
  20. My take is Corral looked the worse at his pro day compared to the other two, but has the best tape/stats against the best competition over the last 3 years. He also played in his Bowl game after injuring his ankle and injured it again(unlike Pickett). He’s been recovering from his injury and hasn’t had as much time to get ready for his pro day as the other two have. So it kind of confuses me if anyone is “All-in” on Pickett or Willis, but don’t want anything to do with Corral at pick 6. All of these dudes I feel have a chance to be elite and also have a chance to bust like a MF.
  21. I’m not crazy about Pickett and I don’t hate him either. I’ve only watched his highlights and he makes a lot of NFL throws. I see him tend to under throw the ball a lot and that’s in his highlights… I do feel he’s comparable to Mac Jones in terms of being the most NFL ready prospect at QB, but doesn’t have near the physical talent of say, Willis or Fields. At this point we have to take a chance on a QB so I’m down for Pickett, Willis, or Corral. One thing I’ll say from watching his highlights is number 3 at WR is legit on Pitts team. I won’t be surprised if he’s a 1st rounder next year.
  22. It’s very sad that I saw this thread and I thought it was true. This would be the 4th stupid QB acquisition this regime would obtain in a 2 year period. Ugh.
