  1. when you're picking this high in the draft, the general operational mentality is that you're getting a player of Watson's caliber, the trade off for the latent uncertainty being that it costs nothing to acquire said player and responsibility falling on the shoulders of those who were given the job of developing the talent given to them if he fails
  2. if we're planning on using 1st round picks on depth pieces then we should just go ahead and make this trade look, i get what you're saying, but the argument here centers around us being pretty well structured and in position to build a great team, not that we aren't so and can't afford to take the chance
  3. this is a bit reactionary, good teams aren't really as complete as they appear from the outside it's about being good at essential spots, this team has some pieces in place in that regard, and the discussion here is centering around another
  4. you've made it pretty clear that your assessment of this crop of QBs falls outside the conventional analysis
  5. You can absolutely be one QB away from the playoffs, as Tampa has demonstrated the argument here is-do I like this crop of QBs? if you do, it's hard to pass that up, with all the inherent advantages it has
  6. maybe it's naive but I'm really, really in like with the idea of getting "our guy"
  7. I cant believe i am saying this but I like where we are positioned and like the prospects in this class quite a bit, wouldn't feel comfortable upending the entire process with an obscene haul like Houston has suggested Obviously if that asking price has tanked significantly then pull the trigger
  8. From now on I hereby decree that whenever Kelvin and Keyarris are referred to collectively they shall be labeled "The KGB."
  9. Idk if I think its lame or neat that RR wears his own organization's stuff rather than team apparel at events like that.
  10. oh okay so this is about how golly gee awesome we are.
  11. But if they value that player as a 2nd round pick, then that's all there is to it-its a terrific decision, and what other teams think shouldn't have any effect on their draft board.
  12. So why are people making fun of Tampa for taking a kicker?
  13. He sure did run over Auburn real good. Humiliated them. Looked mighty impressive to me.
  14. "I'm not gonna waste the effort on someone like you! Everybody thinks your bad! You're so not worth my time!" *blows up every thread I talk about gettleman in* Just ask me out already Scot you're just embarrassing yourself at this point.
  15. You may as well have uploaded a picture of you waving a white flag.
  16. Scot your "insults" make pantherclaw's mindless thrashing look like a comedy central roast.
  17. Oh please Scot don't retreat to your foxhole now. You've thrown a juvenile tantrum everytime I dare call out your beloved master. "uhh I don't care, I don't care at all" Now come on, let's hear another one of those awful attempts at a cutdown so I can giggle and snark. "you say, uh, things that are not true Growl! Yeah. Take that!"
  18. Honestly if there werent a bunch of stupid cliches this board loves recycling surrounding gettleman "hog molly! Tee-hee!" I think you'd see a significantly larger number of people willing to call Gettleman out on his mistakes. We've had a large enough sample size now to know he relies too heavily on terrible players on the roster and we've witnessed it hurt the team a number of times. Its a formulaic process at this point: Gettleman lets talented player walk People question this Gettleman defends himself by churning out some gibberish usually pertaining to abstract concepts and how bad players will not be bad because of them Bad players end up hurting the team and being cut midseason or simply not able to do the job when the quality of competition is good enough that the strengths of the team can't cover for them.
  19. The panthers are perfect how dare you question them
  20. oh look it's another meaningless no-info post from Mr Scot because his jimmies got rustled.
  21. The Panthers lost the super bowl because of a lack of playmaking at WR position, along with a lack of ability at another position that was projected to do poorly. That isn't the first time where us being team Mr. Joe Cool hard ball penny pincher had ended up costing us either. The 2014 team was a regressive debacle because we "believed" in the guys on the roster and did nothing to make the team better. This was done out of pride. It looks as if Gettleman thought Norman would hit the market, be laughed at, and come running back with his tail between his legs. Instead a 4th of the league and likely much more have shown interest. We are worse off for this.
