  1. kinda had the same thought one way or another this makes it seem like they have their mind made up on Ridder I don’t believe they hate him, and if they did why let everyone know? move down, make sure nobody knows about your interest in him, and take him there. Sell the interest in the top 3 QBs to attract a buyer. of course that’s stupid, you never settle for a lesser QB prospect in the name of picking up some draft picks, especially just to recoup ones you’ve lost. You’re chasing your own tail.
  2. the only kind of QB that some posters here would want is the kind of QB who goes number 1 overall, not 6 and not wherever the panthers will be picking next season that guy goes 1 and you aren’t going to trade up for him. As recently as yesterday somebody said “wait until next year and then put a package together to move up.” people here may undervalue the position but nfl teams don’t. You arent “putting a package together” to get the kind of player that people here are so irrationally obsessed with waiting for. either this guy elevates his game and is locked in out of the panthers reach or he regresses to the mean and these people won’t want him anyways (I.e. Willis, Howell, Ridder)
  3. Wow sounds like you’ve really put the research into understanding this issue
  4. you never settle for a lesser graded talent at that position you do it for OT because a “good” OT is winning you just as many games as a “great” and the extra 1st or 2nd is worth it you never settle for a lesser QB
  5. He can challenge every area of the field with his arm and stretch a defense horizontally with his legs. Guys like that are going to make plays. wouldn’t be surprised if he went to a better organization like Pittsburgh and the posters here fondled themselves while the panthers are dominating TOP on their way to the 12th pick in the draft next season
  6. lol they better not get jumped for another QB
  7. the panthers massive and transparent representation at these pro days almost seems smokescreeny, unless they’re just absolutely convinced they have the de facto #1 pick for a QB
  8. I can’t think of any faster way to lock the team in nfl purgatory than this right here id honestly just disengage entirely
  9. forces the panthers to have to find their guy now if they want to be that “that team” in the South post brees (and Brady)
  10. hasn’t missed any games in a couple seasons, has been pretty steady throughout his career
  11. lol I don’t know how you think evaluations are made, but scouts don’t report to their director with a simple ROCKET ARM: Y or N? scribbled into their notes teams make evaluations on the basis of what a guy can accomplish, and accomplish within a given system (theirs) in terms of arm strength, the question is asked whether or not the prospect in question has demonstrated the ability to effectively and routinely accomplish certain throws, in a certain manner, to certains areas of the field, under certain circumstances if he can, the box is checked Scouting isn’t a bunch of guys sitting around a table mangrunting out the drafttek clichés that form the crux of your entire worldview
  12. Pickett works his way through his reads almost to a fault Jones either knew it was there or put it in the dirt immediately. He probably gave up on plays sooner than he should’ve at times, but then again, that’s the smart thing to do when you’re playing with devonta smith and there’s like a 75% chance of a long touchdown on the next play
  13. oh sorry, I should clarify, I was talking about things that matter. when a quarterback can drive the 5 across his body, when he can hit the 8 falling away, when he can challenge corners on the fade i wasn’t referring to generic terms like “rocket arm” that little brained people (like you) picked up in their Walter football scouting reports i was referring to his ability to check the necessary boxes of things he’ll actually be asked to do as an nfl player please put me back on ignore so I don’t ever have to risk catching one of your word vomit opinions again, or more ideally, go to the team Reddit and talk to people more of your… intellectual caliber…there
  14. I have, almost certainly with a keener eye than you Jones was a high tier processor with exceptional anticipation, probably as good as you’ll ever see coming out, held back by a general lack of raw athletic traits, and the reality that he played with outstanding collegiate talent Pickett is an archetypal build and traits guy who has demonstrated the ability to make every throw but still gets caught holding onto the ball too long, for various reasons, but elevated the team around him, and made unc fans hate him because he beat their amateur program they’re fundamentally different evaluations at their core
  15. I guess if you’re looking at their skin color, sure
  16. hindsight, posters were making this exact assertion last offseason they will be doing it next offseason as well its a tradition
  17. not really, the QB movement of recent seasons is an historical aberration, you don’t trying to contend for Super Bowls on the scant hope guys like deshaun Watson come available and honestly the panthers aren’t one of those teams the media is going to be willing to success anyways
