Tua is 18 for 19 right now

Road environment will be tough but with Seattle being banged up and a veteran QB on the field they should look a bit better. They could steal this one, but the lack of guys at CB could be a real issue.
-
starting to looks like a pretty good WR draft
-
where’s WhoaCam to tell us about how we should’ve passed on Bryce for Shaduer
-
yeah, grass gives there. Turf doesn’t. Now the biggest investment of Dave’s career is sitting on the sidelines.
-
pro ready doesn’t mean immediately step into the extremely complex environment that is an nfl football field and be a superstar just so frankw doesn’t look silly at the water cooler
-
oh so you’re just here to react sensationally to get the voices out of your head okay noted
-
it’s literally just one player, one that will likely and very intentionally be replaced with a pretty notable free agent acquisition to compensate it doesn’t NEED to be reacquired, and if the team does draft pretty high, then you’re likely drafting out of a pretty similar talent pool of players from 25-40 anyways. If you like a guy and wanna move up then do it. they don’t need to go intentionally seeking a 1st round pick.

It’s a pretty comprehensive set of data. This graph combined with the advanced metrics we’ve seen on both time to throw and average yards of separation paint a pretty clear picture which meshes well with eye test (at least so far as it pertains to people who know what they’re looking at and don’t get consumed with watching the QB) if what is going on horrific is also a sensational, perhaps even, hysterical, term given the aforementioned performances on other recent rookie QBs through their first games and first seasons-ones that are leading their teams on deep playoff runs youre impatient that’s the problem

Marty Hurney, Dave Gettleman, Scott Fitterer
Growl replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Gettleman disassembled a Super Bowl roster in the middle of a window and never meaningfully sought to bolster it. Hard to do worse than that. -
Seems anti intellectual

Oh wow tell me more about your scouting evaluations

You had no assurance the team would have a top 1 pick. You had no assurance you would draft Caleb Williams. You had no assurance Caleb Williams would be a good nfl player. You did have the assurance you could move into the first slot and take a top tier QB talent. You had the assurance that you were going to squander another prime season or defensive pieces like Brian burns and Derrick brown. you’re afraid that you’re going to be bored this off-season. It starts and ends there. what if the team stockpiled a bunch of cap space for the future? what if the team traded down and collected a whole bunch of picks in the middle rounds? what if they took a chance on a plug and play veteran QB to hold the tide for one more season? Then they would prolong their stint as a loser franchise and set another season ablaze with talented defensive cornerstones in place. no need to argue, we’ve seen your methodology and it’s inevitable result play out numerous times. It makes the off-season exciting for the loser fans who get sucked into lots of mock drafts and off-season hype and “he’s not with Adam gase anymore” and then the inevitable transpires when the things that actually matter start
-
Well it sounds like you have a textbook case of valuing draft picks too much. Probably overlaps with a desire for having lots of cap space.
-
you know what this team could really use right now? the star players it’s already traded away

the first Luvu sack was all Burns.

What we need to see from Bryce and the offensive philosophy
Growl replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
The receiving corps as a whole was better with Moore, yes. also your premise is flawed, you cannot compare 2-4 seasons worth of production to a quarterback making his first two career starts, that would be illogical. you didn’t draft Young for this season and unless you’re prepared to take a guess as to how the offensive skill positions on this team look a few seasons from now then the comparison doesn’t work -

Well it remains to be seen if we actually upgraded our coaching staff but I’d certainly like to believe it i don’t think your point actually holds much weight though, it isn’t as subjective as you’re making it. The physical evidence is there. marshall had multiple chances versus Atlanta with well placed balls that he simply did not make a play on. Believe it or not he was actually in a jersey last night. you can watch for yourself and see the issue. He hasn’t tracked. He probably isn’t a fit for this offense. He’s a bigger body guy who wants to get down the field and make a play on the ball. Not a lot of short area quickness, or even awareness it looks like. Not a fit for what we do now and not a fit for Young’s skillset. probably will be traded for a late or conditional pick if I had to guess -

I mean I don’t know how many different coaching staffs have to signal that Marshall isn’t getting it before you start believing them, especially after the falcons game -
Predict the first win: post week 2
Growl replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
not every team is going to have the horses to go as heavy man as it looked last night I noticed some disguised zone looks late (probably) once we couldn’t waste much time motioning guys but by and large it looked like a lot of just lining up and playing defense and we could not get free downfield Yount probably did overcompensate a bit after throwing two ints versus Atlanta and wanted to protect the football, but down field was abysmal. Saints DBs were in hip pockets the whole game i imagine they’ll probably jump up and surprise someone though when we don’t expect it. Face a team that isn’t as stout in the secondary and it’ll be easier sledding. absolutely no interior push on the OL either, sure glad we got Corbett hurt in a pointless game just so Steve Wilks wouldn’t sue us -

you can’t just “throw one on up” to any individual whose managed to fluke his way into being on an nfl field -
You forgot Ryan kalil
-
you’ve gotta understand, people here get really attached to certain things and thus diminish others. The bengals passing on penei Sewell for jamarr chase was treasonous. The saints trading an extra 1 for a wide out is laughable. they genuinely cannot process what you’re saying. Shouldn’t a strong running attack mean you can save money at receiver? What if we just like played with more grit?
-
yeah I can’t really evaluate Young. There’s legitimately nothing there. More concerning though is that it isn’t just talent, they were incredibly, incredibly vanilla in the first half. They opened it up a bit in the second half but the athleticism at the WR position was still an Achilles heel and once the dam broke at CB-probably for good as it pertains this season-the game felt out of reach even being down by just a few. Failing to connect on the big Mingo pass was probably a potential game changer, but honestly you’ve got to try teams down the field more than that second game in a row where we’re sitting here talking about that *one* missed opportunity in the passing game. i suspect this is probably an extension of training camp and Young and the receivers haven’t developed good timing with one another down the field. Young is used to throwing to guys a lot faster than terrace Marshall (who did absolutely nothing last night) which would explain why these passes are just a bit long
