None of these moves matter without our franchise QB
Growl replied to Kraybrothers's topic in Carolina Panthers
not really, the QB movement of recent seasons is an historical aberration, you don’t trying to contend for Super Bowls on the scant hope guys like deshaun Watson come available and honestly the panthers aren’t one of those teams the media is going to be willing to success anyways -
Kenny Pickett > Malik Willis (at least for us)
Growl replied to janderson20vt's topic in Carolina Panthers
the two really aren’t anything alike -

I lol when I think at how “stacked” this QB class was supposed to be one year ago Malik Willis, Sam Howell, Desmond Ridder, Spencer Rattler all tossed about as guys we HAD to wait for it if we wanted to BUILD IT RIGHT its the same garbage from the same posters every year they either don’t know what they’re looking at, or have other biases. -
Sure looks that way.

Can we talk about Fitterer and the off-season so far
Growl replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
lol Gilmore wants to play for a team with a QB. He wants to win. You’re not “getting to work” without one. -
This team would’ve been built and ready to make a run.
-
Gantt is wasting away inside
-
nobody actually still thinks hoping for the #1 pick is a viable path to getting a QB now right
-
but not really? if the panthers thought this then they would’ve helped him drive up his price for what everyone believed was a divisional foe what you’re saying is illogical
-
And virtually all of the leagues top QBs stay in the afc panthers still have a shot to be *the* team in their conference but they have to get their guy and they have to do it now
-
Wow
-
“let’s get a ‘decent’ QB and a DOMINATE o-line to shepherd us to the 1st pick in the draft!” do people really not see the logic fallacy there
-
I was literally in the process of editing this when it timed me out and told me I couldn’t edit it. What a dumb feature.
-
yeah this is what I was saying yesterday And I hate to look like a sore loser but afterall that guy has been through, to be so caught up in market and nightlife, etc well I’d be a pinch concerned.
-
there really isn’t anything to suggest that it was Matt rhule specifically that drove them away its probably more to do with the image of our team, fostered by our own poor performance and the general perception of us driven by the media that we aren’t cool or interesting in any way (even when they’re good, “wOrSt 10-0 tEAm EvEr?!?!”)
-
Now you’re getting it
-
this time last year there was a desperate push to just wait one more year, it’s a strong QB class next year, just wait, get hog mollies, get a bellcow back, get a CEREBRAL linebacker, just wait, get Howell or Ridder or Rattler next year here we are. Same posters. it’s not about the players.
-
spoilers: the same people who never want a QB will never want a QB they live under the delusion of the perfect storm hitting us, just one year away, annually. ”let’s build an elite roster and get the 1st pick in the draft!” It’s a fundamentally broken approach that, at best, will leave the team in Titans territory, good enough to pick 20 each season, but never good enough to compete for a Championship-and for some of them, this is okay, as long as the team is CHEWING CLOCK AND POUNDING ROCKS.
-
why am I not surprised to find out people are outraged to find out the cap is meaningless
-
want to avoid burning those bridges with teams you play twice a season as long as possible
-
Do it. Too much talent. If you as a coach don’t want to trying and refine that skill then you probably don’t have the psyche to win in this business. i like Pickett just fine but Willis can do stuff other guys cannot.
