  1. why does every pick have to be this stupid
  2. this is moving the goal posts and sounds more like you’re leaning on your pointless evaluations that we don’t here care about hes a rookie and will be afforded the opportunity to develop like all rookies and the only mature take to that is a bit of patience
  3. you move down one pick, slide up a bit later in the draft and still get the guy you like. Peter schrager has reported there was a big competition to move up into the late first. Panthers moved up to secure their target versus other teams, bills improve their draft position.
  4. literally no one thinks the pick swap had anything to do with buffalo lol what are you talking about
  5. That’s a huge surprise, I really thought he’d tumble a bit. Every analytical chart I’ve seen on him never painted a good portrait. Got talent though. Paris pretty well with Allen.
  6. eh, there’s some truth to this but collecting the reports we’ve seen, it’s likely the bills swapped with us because New England was trying to move up-probably for Leggette, given our known interest in him and some of the comments from Belichick. by swapping with us buffalo sticks it to a division rival, still gets the guy they want, probably Mitchell, and gets a little bit of icing by moving up a bit into round 5.
  7. as I mentioned earlier, you’re also ideally hoping that Young and Leggette and pick 39 all manifest into second contract players. Without the option on Leggette, all three of those guys would need those contracts in the same offseason, which is a huge ask.
  8. exposit the reasons why it “doesn’t move the needle”
  9. the crowd that makes absolutely everything related to Bryce young and implodes over it every time literally anything happens has made this place an anti intellectual black hole
  10. I think I expect edgerrin cooper but also wouldn’t be surprised at a tight end, which will make people freak out, but sinnot is one of those guys every fanbase thinks they’ve discovered as a round 3 gem and is thus potentially going to go a lot higher than expected. Both of those guys got top 30 visits. They’ve done absolutely nothing to bolster tight end all offseason despite aggression elsewhere. corner has obviously gotten a lot of smoke as well.
  11. it’s what you tell every QB because it’s generic coach speak that doesn’t mean anything
  12. but I thought he played a fifth season? wasn’t that the premise? How’d he do? let’s keep the goal posts in place here friend
  13. wow so like the more he played the better he got that’s crazy bro
  14. so obviously there’s the 5th year option point as well, I mean the whole league just watched aj brown get $100 million dollars but it goes beyond that. They’re building a team and they’re all in on this build. Ideally, Bryce, Leggette, and #39 (and others from this class) all pan out as great players that need second contracts here if the panthers hadn’t moved up then all three of those players would need big contracts in the same offseason moving up one spot, you have contract control on Leggette for an additional season and ease that burden down the road
  15. Peter schrager just reported we weren’t the only team trying to move up to 32, so, whereas the Bills may have called us, they called us because there was a competition for that spot.
  16. Leggette did something Marshall and Mingo-and McConkey-never did-and produced at a high level, especially as a true number one. the comparison isn’t really that good. That said, if you still wanna make it, the counter point is obvious: as others have pointed out, there are guys working out. Teams taking great prospects who need refinement, developing them, and reaping the massive dividends that comes from that over taking a polished but lesser physical talent. were the only team it hasn’t worked out for and that can’t continue, black cat mascot jokes and all
  17. I still want another pick there, maybe even at 39.
  18. Young has absolutely demonstrated the ability to drive the ball down the field when the protection is there. The hashmarks dont expand at the pro level. i actually wonder if we’ll see Leggette used more as a weapon underneath though while he develops while Johnson is used to stretch the intermediate zone. I know he had lots of big shots at SC but I think his biggest strength is probably with the ball in his hand.
  19. that guarantees one of Leggette, Mitchell, or McConkey will be there at 33. Not sure they like McConkey enough to take him though.
  20. terrible post. Worthy has bend and wiggle. Lot of people here don’t want Worthy as soon as he broke the record because people here make assessments that shallow.
  21. there’s a big demographic of people here who distill picks down to nothing more than “I don’t want to draft a bust” but that’s not the strategy teams employ in the draft. Look at the contract aj brown just got. You’ve got to build an offense with skill players. But you’re not just going to buy an aj brown. You’ve almost always got to draft him. servicable center play can be bought for next to nothing, and a good center isn’t adding any wins to your win total versus an average center. the one thing they can’t do is go center at 33. Maximize value.
