  1. a great example of how the fanbase largely sensationalizes things uniform to every team to points of hysteria “ugh this is it, they mishandled Eric Shelton, this is the reason why we’re not a serious team, I wish I followed a professional team ugh ugh ugh”
  2. probably depends on how much he publicly says “wow I really loved my tenure in Green Bay”
  3. Things that win super bowls 1) elite expensive passers 2) expensive weapons that catch lots of passes and touchdowns 3) expensive pass rushers which obstruct the other teams’ 1) and 2) things that don’t win super bowls 1) healthy cap 2) cost effective day three picks giving us a hometown discount 3) running that football!
  4. then we should trade Young for some stout cost effective big mollies who carry their lunch pails and pound that rock! the central goal of this team should be to prove that it can still be done the old way, with cheap cost effective vets running that ball and stopping that run!
  5. and the league’s worst pass defense lol
  6. but think of how many late round picks we can flip those two firsts for
  7. tired of hearing about all this “elite pass rushers help you win super bowls” garbage i want a HEALTHY CAP and two picks for my mock draft so you IDIOTS can see how smart I am and maybe I’ll get hired or something by a blog because I’m a scouting SAVANT idk
  8. “No fault to anybody who is not participating,’’ Burns said. “But we’ve got something special, and I’m a big part of it, so I can’t miss no time. I’ve just got to be here.’’
  9. Of course it’s been on my mind,’’ Burns said. “This is personal, but I’ve been working on my relationship with God. I left it in his hands. I just did everything I could in my power to be on this field with my teammates. I feel if you live the right way, good things will happen to you.’’ Among those pulling for Burns to get paid is New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. After the preseason opener at Bank of America Stadium, the future Hall of Famer was captured by HBO’s “Hard Knocks’’ telling Burns: “Good luck with the contract. You deserve it. You’re a —--ing incredible player.’’ lets get this guy resigned.
  10. https://www.espn.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/37896/ive-got-to-be-here-why-panthers-brian-burns-isnt-holding-out?platform=amp “No fault to anybody who is not participating,’’ Burns said. “But we’ve got something special, and I’m a big part of it, so I can’t miss no time. I’ve just got to be here.’’
  11. Camp confidential made it clear how much respect he gets from other teams, and how he’s the face of the team now. He’s a core piece of the next chapter of panthers football. As others have said, it doesn’t really make sense for it to be contract related at this point but the team definitely needs to be inching closer to a deal.
  12. This has literally nothing to do with anything he said.
  13. anyone trying to blame all the “bad things” on Rhule simply because he’s not here and fitterer is is being intellectually dishonest Rhule played his hand in his push for Mayfield and the lack of practice work Corral got last season. Fitterer spoke very glowingly of Corral. All the smoke points towards that being a Fitterer pick.
  14. played nine seasons and won three super bowls He didn’t become Barry sanders but I imagine he’s reasonably happy with the career he had
  15. It’s a little sunny to say all the bad picks were Matt rhule or Matt rhule’s philosophy fitterer has talked pretty glowingly about his affinity for drafting guys who are high traits and allowing the coaches to develop them, and the most recent draft had more than one guy who fit the mold of big athletic profile who wasn’t a major collegiate producer its not really that scandalous to wiff on most of your day 3 picks anyways and if you’re going to be taking a chance you’d rather do it on guys with big athletic profiles Ideally a more veteran nfl staff can draw out these athletic traits, but they’re definitely not going to stop keying in on athleticism as an extremely important scouting metric
  16. bold strategy to cut most everyone in the front 7
  17. Playing good enough to win the games during the preseason generally translates to being good enough to win games during the regular season they need to take this lions game fairly seriously
  18. You really can’t evaluate if you’re disadvantaging individual matchups against an opponent that is trying from the top down.
  19. Are they planning on Young playing the whole game next week? Why are they being so timid with the reps? Corral’s trade value diminishes every time he touches the ball.
  20. Only this team could make having the #1 overall pick boring
  21. People were so skeptical pre-draft that the team needed another legitimate value plug at CB. Some people got angry at the suggestion. Even without the Horn injury. Achilles are not a one-off-season kind of recovery injury. it’s probably going to be really rough in the secondary this season unless something unexpected happens
  22. at this point, for the League, it’s going to become simply a matter of “Anything But Grass” because that’s what those stupid poor people told us we have to use expect to see hype propaganda for NeXtGENTurfX coming soon
  23. The nfl is an autocratic institution which fumes and reviles and cannot stomach any sort of criticism, no matter how ancillary and small it may be they ran commercials during the draft trying to reframe fans booing Roger goodell as “just a fun part of the experience” and not what it actually is-fans expressing frustration for the poor job he’s done as commissioner. anyways my point is that the bigger this gets the more stubborn the league is going to get they are going try and stall this out for as long as possible until a “brand new, state of the art” type of field turf (lol) comes available which they will then very publicly transition to while telling you this has always been the end goal because of their commitment to player safety-anything to avoid any demonstration of humility, they will seek out a third option regardless of quality and potentially even cost in this case. Wouldnt be surprised to start seeing some propaganda on how dangerous and terrifying blades of grass either (though not enough stop pushing for those soccer matches or course!) “I can’t believe it’s <insert current calendar year> and you still have a demographic of people believing football should be played on grass! It’s barbaric! We are way too progressive and future driven for that!”
