We haven't invested high picks on "the best player available" since Gettleman's been here. What he says in press conferences is irrelevant when compared to his actions. We ignore free agency and draft to fill our needs. That's just the way it is.

Gettleman couldve afforded himself this luxury if he had bothered to address the team's needs in free agency. He is waiting for the draft instead and will be forced to address them there.

You can't be a team that takes the statement "build through the draft" as literally as we do and spend first rounds picks on luxury spots. I understand people here have spent years trying to make those two tropes coexist in the same philosophy because it's catchy and it's what the TV told them was smart to say, but you either construct your team implementing quality free agents in supplement to your draft picks or you go BPA (in the sense that the Huddle perceives it) come draft day. You aren't going to win championships ignoring need areas year in and year out or banking on UDFAs, late career rejects, or ST players to hopefully be "just enough" to get you all the way.

I've seen a couple rough injuries in youth football, nothing major, but some rough ones. played it and helped coach it for a short time. never any head injuries though.

I like Stewart. I do. He's an excetionally talented back.... but his stock is high and now would be an excellent time to trade him and use a couple of picks on a RB in a deep draft class. I'm not saying I'm endorsing it... But I am throwing it out there to gauge interest and as something to ponder. Would you do it? There's never going to be a better time than now, and it comes with a number of upsides. Just seeing what the populace thinks.

well then how many high draft picks is the team under the impression we have because we have pressing needs at WR, OT, DE, S among some other notable spots where we could stand to improve or begin developing future talent im not so sure one pick in the first and one pick in the second is going to quite cover all that. but I'm no math major i guess

Montgomery looks the part of an nfl player and some team is going to get suckered into taking him cause of it, and I'm hoping it isn't us. He doesn't do much well, he has a poor senior year, and his offseason so far has been bad. Just stay away and sign a legitimate WR in free agency.
