This is a good observation, branding the punishment as "conduct detrimental".instead of the actual DV punishment is an obvious ploy to fight back in what would've been an obvious losing case against the PA as the Rice and Peterson cases were.
-
It all makes sense now. Give Hardy an outrageous punishment, and then, on the one day of the year where the entire nation has their eye on you, you make sure he comes back so the story reignites and is a massive talking point and the entire country can bare witness to "the stand" that you took and can discuss how you're "leading the way" against DV or whatever other generic jargon Goodell wants. I wouldn't be surprised if NFL had Women's Rights day or something happens to crop up that same Week. Goodell is a businesses man through and through, there is no denying that. I'll take some solace in the tantrum Roger is going to throw when the PA ruins this whole thing, but still

So much for the rejoicing over getting a thanksgiving day game lol Just another chance for Roger to profit off a story. I'm sure we can expect an endless wave come thanksgiving of how many games Greg was supposed to serve all over the air waves with a Goodell cameo interview on "accountability" and "progress" or " equality" or whatever other power word he can toss out to put himself in the "progressive" spotlight.

If you don't act like an indignant SJW then you're not a human! Domestic violence is bad very bad!

Roger is going to do what he has to do to save his own face. Amusing he's so intent on making sure the Panthers suffer for it though. Trey Wingo is actually kind of going after Roger. It's kind of amusing. Mentioned that both punishments for Rice and Peterson fell through and that the NFL is simply trying to cover for itself.
-
It'll get reduced anyways. The PA will file a suit and the NFL will have no legal ground to stand on. The precedent has already been set with the Peterson case. Lol at the NFL for "conveniently" sliding us into place where we would "coincidentally" be the first team he played.

Cant miss out on those ratings!!

Yeah. Jon Beason sabotaged a workout with New England as well so they wouldn't pick him. Imagine all the talent we would've missed out on over the years if we subscribed to the Mr. Scot method of team building lol

Advantage of hindsight.

We've been fortunate enough the past two years to get great prospects at need areas who took mystical offseason tumbles thanks to the usual offseason draft nonsense. It'd be great if could happen a third. Though frankly with Polomalu gone I think that's probably a likely landing spot for him.

"THE TIDE rises, the tide falls, The twilight darkens, the curlew calls; Along the sea-sands damp and brown The traveller hastens toward the town, And the tide rises, the tide falls. 5 Darkness settles on roofs and walls, But the sea, the sea in the darkness calls; The little waves, with their soft, white hands, Efface the footprints in the sands, And the tide rises, the tide falls. 10 The morning breaks; the steeds in their stalls Stamp and neigh, as the hostler calls; The day returns, but nevermore Returns the traveller to the shore, And the tide rises, the tide falls." I've been considering trying Sniper Elite. I heard it was good and I've been itching for a WW2 game for years. I used to be obsessed with them.

Now were not gonna be able to sign Cam or Luke because 3 mil -
We signed ted ginn and michael Oher, our needs have already been met. We're ready for next year and are free to use our draft picks on luxury positions

This sounds nice but it isn't the way the NFL works anymore. Especially for a team that professes to "build through the draft." As has been discussed before, you can't have your cake and eat it too. You either make sensible picks while avoiding old tropes like this in your philosophy, or you are free to go with that old definition of "BPA" because you made sure your team was ready for the next year in the month's prior. Teams that try to do both lose games, and thankfully, we've seen Gettleman make sure he uses the draft to address needs in his years here and is on pace to do it in his 3rd. That all precludes the fact that "Top 5 player at a position" typically doesn't mean much in making your a 1st round pick anyways, especially at that position,

Has any player talked up by Riverboat worked out well for us?

Right after bashing him and just prior to trying to trying to talk up Jarrett Boykin as a legitimate weapon for him -

5% and no more. -
Please elaborate on your reasoning for this. Why indeed would you want a LB who doesn't play the position and openly refuses to learn it over this year's de facto best Safety prospect.

ah look another poorly veiled "HES IN THE LEAGUE AND YOUR ARENT SO HES THE BOMB" post that has become a commonplace tactic among the apologetic crowd when confronted with an argument like this. Ron isn't here to be a mediocre. He isn't being compared to PanthersUnited, or Pantherclaw, or you. He's being compared to Pete Carroll, and Bill Belichick, and John Harbaugh. And guess what? He compares poorly. You don't win Super Bowls being 17th best hurray! at your job. He's going to have to be way better than that if we want a championship, and then he's going to have to be even better to cover for a devoid of talent at key areas that the team feels no apparent need to address.

I'd rather see us be successful.
