  1. Based on what? There are tons of people that had him going in the second. I think he's a good player but BPA doesn't mean anything. BPA has a different meaning for every franchise, GM, and fan. Who says "I took the second best player available!". He's not a bad pick but we need to build the offense.
  2. I like Shaq. I understand why we picked him. But I'm ready to build our offense in a league that overwhelmingly favors the offensive player.
  3. Devin Smith in the 2nd would be ok with me. He's not tough enough to be a 1st rounder but he is a weapon.
  4. It's cool to read the bit about him being 35 years old making 18 grand a year and the decisions he had to make about his future.
  5. Everybody is aware how good he was. Nobody is aware how good he is.
  6. I just heard this is 1 year, 3 million dollars. That doesn't sound like a "come to camp and we'll see".
  7. If we had played with 10men, at least we would have known that reciever would be open every play. But seriously we plugged the dam with the buffalo package. Had Colin Jones play some nickel and he was surprisingly good at it.
  8. And if he can't play worth a damn he we still start for 5 weeks like Charles Godfrey.
  9. The last thing I want is Coach Ron being loyal to this guy when he costs us three touchdowns.
  10. I didn't compare the players. I compared the fan reaction. Insert Donte Moncreif, Da'Rick Rogers, Kenny Britt, or any of the other guys with off field issues. Fans will not just ignore off field issues but act as if the organization is treating us unfairly by avoiding these guys. I personally would love to have DGB on the team. I think he's worth the risk. But if we pass I can at least understand it and not have this reaction:
  11. I really think it's gotten to the point of absurdity when we call 20-25 year olds "just kids". The football coaches started this crap to generate sympathy when their players got in trouble. Everyone goes along with it because they have skeletons/guilt from their youth. 20-25 years old is not "just a kid". We've sent teenagers to fight in wars and now we are calling 6-5 250lb adults "kids".
  12. I think people that don't think 40 times matter are trying too hard to be smart. They do matter. Fast guys run by slow guys. Brandon Lafell, Philly Brown, and Kelvin Benjamin all timed slow and they all run slow. They have other qualities that make up for lack of long speed but their weakness is in fact speed. Joe Adams timed slow and everyone swore up and down he had football speed. Guess not.
  13. Ealy got beat down by just about everyone in camp and the fans got down on him. Maybe that happens more often than we think, it is the NFL. But Ealy kept working and really showed his talent in the second half of the season.
  14. If you are a tough guy coming in this thread to tell everyone Jonathan is a whimp and a sissy, go look in a mirror. Are you really that tough?
  15. He cannot be softer than Foucalt. This is a smart move. We have the worst tackles in the league and this guy has talent. Rookie contract. Why not?
  16. How many rules have been made up or changed on the PAtriots road to success?
  17. Reminds me of Travelle Wharton being on our books when we brought him back.
  18. That is correct. and the end of the third at that. The best compensatory pick imaginable would be 97th overall or the 33rd pick in the 3rd round. Barring forfeited picks of course. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, the last time we picked 97th overall.....we Fuad up.
  19. If you are curious was sort of gems we have unearthed in the past... Geoff Schwartz, Geoff Hangartner, and Brad Nortman top the list..... http://espn.go.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/12760/a-look-at-panthers-compensatory-draft-pick-history Gettleman has never had a compensatory selection because he's had to cut bad contracts, not let them leave.
  20. This is JR's team. He has to do what he feels is right and I support that. I would probably take a different approach but I didn't bust my butt in the food service industry for 30 years to buy an NFL franchise.
