Training Camp Photos and Observations - Day 3
KendrickPanther replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's working with the first team but it's really too early to judge the secondary. Most of them have never played together. Sunday was the first day of hitting so maybe Zod saw something but in the previous two practices he didn't touch anyone. The Panthers have been playing tons of off coverage with single high safety. Harper usually comes down into the box. But again no hitting. It's like orientation. Nothing complex.- 54 replies

Training Camp Photos and Observations - Day 3

I've always been a optimist but I think there is no doubt Kugbilla is a bust. Sure he could surprise us but he's coming out of Valdosta State, a 3rd year player with no experience. Assuming his physical limitation dissipate, he's still got no idea how to play in the NFL. We can draft a younger Kugbilla any time we want.- 54 replies

Well I think you hit on something. That coaching staff and even Steve will use him the best way they can. There will be no gorrilas in the room. No egg shells to walk over. Steve will be put in the best situation for him and the Ravens without any baggage.- 54 replies

Camp Photos and Observations - Day 2
KendrickPanther replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Avant is a veteran possession receiver. Not the type of player the generates a ton of buzz. He's doing fine but everyone's eyes gravitate to the young guys. Kelvin Benjamin has caught every ball I've seen thrown to him. (mind you no one sees everything). I think Ginn is a loss more as a punt returner. When he fielded punts I felt confident he would at least catch the damned thing. Some of the guys we've been working back there are woeful. Kenjon Barner froze up and reached for the ball rather then get his body under it. I haven't seen a ton of Kony Ealy but I did see him working with special teams. We've seen a ton of athletic DEs have an immediate impact on special teams. Guys like Jason Pierre-Paul, Greg Hardy, and Aldon Smith. I wouldn't mind seeing him block a few punts or truck a few returners. -
Another thing about the grass on the hill. It's full of harmless spiders and bugs. If you have a lady friend that has an aversion to such things it would be better to sit in a chair rather than a blanket. Also don't eat or drink sweets. It attracts bees.

When I grew up, collecting sports cards was a big deal. An extension of the was collecting autographs. I still have my ZO, LJ, and Muggsy autographs stashed away. But as I get older I feel silly asking for one. I still wouldn't mind one from Cam. Getting the shoe was great for my niece. She has shelves on her bed, it takes up the entire shelve. And she takes it to show and tell.

If someone really cares about getting an autograph they have every right to stand there looking silly with the children. Just don't be a jerk about it. Some parents use their kids for autographs and that is the same thing to me. They just avoid the shame of standing there begging someone younger than them for a second of their time. Cam does not sign for every single person. On any given day there is 2-7 thousand people that would love to have a Cam Newton autograph. Waiting in the prime spots with nothing to do for hours helps your chances but it guarantees you nothing. I would gladly trade a signature to enjoy my day in the sun watching guys fight for their livelihood. Cam did say he prefers to sign for people that are excited, but don't make an ass of yourself. In Gibbs Stadium Zod pointed out the prime Autograph side. This is true but in 2013 they taped off the best seats for "VIPs". There are still many good seats but the supply is much smaller than the demand. You must arrive early. If you send your children into the fray, keep a close eye on them. Don't let them disrespect adults or other children. And don't let them get bullied. People go nuts for Autographs, my 5 year old was excited at first but soon became frightened. It can be a mele like that time Tom Cruise pulled that kid over a fence. Watch your kids with the markers too. My 5 year old drew a line on her Panthers Jersey with a sharpie with all the pushing and shoving. Byron Bell took off his shoes to give to the kids and people started trying to push her out of the way. When she received the shoe she tried to put it on the ground because she is 5. So just keep an eye out for their behavior and safety. Fair warning. Even the most excited kids lose interest during practice. If you are on the hill they will run around in packs like feral animals. Bringing a football or Frisbee to toss around is a great idea if they find some open space. Some of the best days to go are during the rain. It's very relaxing. If you wear under armour type clothes then getting a little wet shouldn't bother you. Just leave the electronics in the car. There are drinks and hot dogs on site. They are fairly low priced and fairly low quality. (relative to sporting events) I would never recommend going to training camp with expectations for an autograph. There are just better ways to get them. Don't be the guy that drives 6 hours for an autograph and holds a grudge when you don't get one. Veterans sign the fewest autographs in my experience. She got this for being polite and encouraging.

Soccer fans of the Huddle have challeneged this subforum
KendrickPanther replied to Zod's topic in Charlotte Football Club
It's always nice to follow soccer more closely after the NFL season has ended. -
I just got curious and looked up what John Madden earns for slapping his name on the EA Football game. $2 million a year. Not bad considering he's not expected to do anything for the company. Just wanted to share, didn't think it required it's own thread.

I don't know maybe someone becomes available as teams make roster moves. None of those players are guys I would feel great about. Ginn was pretty damned good on punts when he had the chance. His biggest issue was calling "poison". I've just always wanted a small guy that could stop, start, and blow by people. Trindon Holliday or a young Steve Smith. I would prefer someone reliable and experienced but those guys cost money.

You can't see the scale of that wall painting. He actually traced it. Himself.

Carolina Huddle Podcast Episode 1: A New Hope
KendrickPanther replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
One suggestion, make a giant link to them up near the top of the screen that is ever present. A lot of podcast listeners will download them all at once so having them consolidated in one link will get them all hit. People will go on vacation and download them all months after they are posted. -
Carolina Huddle Podcast Episode 1: A New Hope

I don't know how many hits you will get but I personally love this kind of content. I'm relatively young and tech savvy, podcasts are on demand Panther insight to squeeze into my day. -
It's hard to judge line play in camp just because everyone has their own ideas of what half speed is. If you are trying to get a contract half speed might be all your speed. If you are a 2nd round pick you might be trying to stay healthy.

I remember getting tested in high school and they said you could recognize a cocaine user by the color of their urine. Or maybe it was crack, I don't really know if there is a difference. Janet Jackson taught me crack is whack and rich people do coke but I thought they were similar. TBH the coke line could be something you just throw away. If a woman was acting crazy I could see someone saying that with no information about their habits. About the pictures, I have no idea when exactly they were taken but I'm pretty sure Hardy made the rounds like a week or two before the Super Bowl.
-
Her instagram has pictures of them together in various places including the NFL Network set when his agent had him doing interviews every day.
-
Yeah. I know couples exactly like that. They cheat on each other, they fight, they cause scenes in bars. Then you hear they are still together doing the same stuff 2 years later.
-
I thought I heard Hardy say on the tape "Don't let her go" Is this don't let her leave the scene or don't let her attack me again? We don't know.
-
The one thing I don't understand about the gold digger angle: Why go to the police? Wouldn't your silence be more valuable to Hardy than pressing charges then dropping charges?
-
We can assume both parties are exaggerating their innocence and we can assume both testimonies may have wholes or contradictions based on emotion, alcohol, and possibly drugs. It's just an unpleasant situation all around.
-
Hardy claims he was bleeding but the police looked at them both and arrested Hardy. Don't want to make this about race but we all know how it is...
-
I really don't know what to make of this. You have a 290 lb man scared of his 120 lb GF. Is he trying to stay out of trouble or is he trying to sound innocent? I have no idea.
-
It also concerns me that Greg is obsessed with money. He talks about money all the time on twitter. He's posting pictures with diamond studded watches and private jets. He hasn't made that much money yet... If money motivates him, that's fine. I just worry if he gets 40mil guaranteed he may lose his motivation.
-
I really want to keep Greg on the team if he can stay out of jail. He is a valuable football player. But how can you make any sort of long term commitment with guaranteed money to him? I feel like Greg needs a carrot on a stick to keep him focused and moving forward. Some of the younger guys probably do not remember Fred Lane and Rae Carruth. Jerry remembers, I can promise that.
