How does Iupati think he's worth 8.5m a year? Doesn't he play guard? There are plenty of guys that can play for less than that.
-
The team was on an 8-2 run when Kemra got hurt by the way.
-
I don't put all recent sucess on Mo. He is a spark for our offense but Coach Cliff and the entire team have been working to find a balance between offense and defense.
-
This is an awkward argument to have because Star and Kelvin had great rookie seasons but I am sure we can go through the other 220 picks and cherry pick "better" players. Gettleman picked great players that fit his philosophy at positions of need. That is fact. "best player" is a phrase that can mean different things to different people. Gettleman has said in the past he builds positional value into his board. So if you play tackle this year, you're going to get a bump up his board compared to a Full Back or Middle Linebacker.
-
Gettleman has drafted for need in his first 2 seasons and people still perpetuate BPA.
-
Absolutely. Having a veteran on one side and a rookie with high potential on the other is the ideal thing. What we don't want is rookies across the board like last year.

Panthers Hoping To Sign Oher and Ginn Before Tuesday
KendrickPanther replied to rscott94's topic in Carolina Panthers
It would be awesome if we could find someone in the mid rounds of the draft. We've tried before and failed but others have succeeded. -
Bell played with injuries too. If you remember at the end of the Seattle game he could barely walk and the Panthers trotted him out there to give up two sacks on the final drive. Oher is a Panther and I am behind him but it does worry me. At least this year we are going into the season with a draftable tackle talent on the roster.

At least someone liked my first round mock draft pick

A local blogger. That's cold. -
Isn't Alonso coming off a season ending injury? I like this move for the Eagles for financial reasons but Lesean McCoy was a Super Star. Alonso could be one.

Mike Tolbert Attended DeAngelos Moms Funeral

Well it's a slow time for Football news and Deangelo got his name out on the National circuit right before free agency. -
Well part of my is worried and part of me is excited. They wouldn't inform Bell he's gone unless they had concrete plans to get better on the line. So we should see that plan come into action in the next 2 months. On the other hand Ron Rivera said a few days ago that part of whether or not Byron comes back is up to Byron. Maybe he asked for a multi year deal and they offered him a one year minimum contract. His agent could have advised him to test free agency. We will see.
-
"Thats Rons job". (to fire Shula). We know Ron doesn't make the hard decisions like Gettleman does.
-
Every player clearly visible in that photo could be gone in the next month.

Do you make an offer now or wait till after the draft? I would hate for us to sign Ginn and then not look at recievers in the draft. Who says Cam doesn't make players around him better?

Cam Newton should be paid more than Luck or Wilson
KendrickPanther replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Russel Wilson has proven he can lead his team to a Super Bowl, that's a golden feather in his cap. Andrew Luck I go back and forth with because he's a terrific passer with "footballl IQ". Then you see him make 3 or 4 of the stupidest plays imaginable that either put his team in a hole or outright cost them the game. I don't really agree with the Igo logic that we should pay Cam more because our offensive personnel is so bad. In fact that would never cross my mind when I come up with a number. You negotiate with Cam and get the most team friendly deal you can. If the deal is the opposite of team friendly you tell him to play on the franchise number and accept he may leave. There has been speculation Russel Wilson may have a fully garaunteed contract with a reasonable cap figure. I've always wondered if we could do this with cam. Say 5 years 70 million garaunteed? That's 14 million annually to him with plenty of cap space to get his help. Even give him an opt out after 4 years.- 181 replies

Oklahoma City at Charlotte 7:00 PM Saturday
KendrickPanther replied to PantherBrew's topic in Charlotte Hornets
The team is playing pretty well but we all know the Thunder will catch a break at the end. -
-Yes in terms of calendar. But we signed some great UFAs 2 years ago -No. I think it's been more of the same. -I think so. We are nearly out of our cap issues and our draft picks are playing. But Gettleman's crucible will be retaining talent, not finding it.
-
I don't even consider him a disappointment. He plays a position at high risk for injury and he delivered some memorable performances for us. He could have been more but he could have been less. Eric Shelton was a real disappointment.

Half of you guys have a 4 year memory. Others don't know what starter means. I don't have time to go over everything but names like Chris Weinke, Darrin Hambrick, Scott Greene, Matt Willig, Lamar Smith, Isaac Byrd, Shayne Graham, Michael Gaines, Colin Branch all deserve consideration. How about this, Jermaine Wiggins started 11 games at TE for us one year with 8 catches. There is no reason for Rae Carruth to be on anyone's list because the reasoning has nothing to do with football. "Worst Starter" suggests they were starting without that talent required to start. Carruth had the talent and some production. He was just a despicable human being.

So who "has Jerry Richardson's ear"?
KendrickPanther replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Charles Johnson is well thought of within the franchise. I don't have any evidence. Just what I think. Kuechly obviously would have Richardson's ear if he asserted himself. -
Automatic looking weapons* and it was a couch, wait, I mean a bed, or a couch.

Ted Ginn Jr could return to Panthers
KendrickPanther replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
He kept defenses honest with his deep speed but he also dropped several deep balls. I would want him back but I don't want the team to think he is enough to fix our WR corps.
