  1. I would love to have him on the team. I would also love to still draft a WR.
  2. The only concern I have with Gurley is his health. I definately see the value in a Transcendent Running Back when Stew is most likely out next year.
  3. Interesting. I think I like it. If he's good enough we can move Bene in on the slot.
  4. Stewart has a projected cap hit of $13m next year. We can save just under $6m by post June 1st cut. Can save 2m with an outright cut. At some point we have to get rid of his contract. His contract is like an SCP Mexican food truck special. It's going to be messy but we will feel better when it's gone.
  5. He's a great player. He's a player for the future, but for how much future? Running backs wear down. But say you draft Gurley. Stew might as well pack his bags next off season and say hello to cap space going forward.
  6. Tom Brady had a home field advantage that Peyton could rarely cope with. Tom Brady was fortunate to have new rules made for him whether its no hits below the knee or the tuck rule. The Patriots won 2 Super Bowls with a defense that did nothing but grab and hold before the rules changed. Your logic is basically "Bill Bellichek did it, why couldn't Polian?". By those standards there are not great GMs, just Bellichek and his front office. You can be great without being the best. Polian was also a part of 4 Super Bowl runs with the Bills that admittedly did not end well.
  7. The chain reaction would be astonishing. Obviously draft orders would change but if Ryan Leaf goes to the colts the Chargers never draft Drew Brees, never draft Eli Manning, and never trade Manning to the Giants. Roethlisberger to the Steelers then comes into question. But Polian made the safe and smart pick so we have what we have.
  8. I take Polian in the media with a grain of salt because he doesn't have all the information. He doesn't watch all the film. He's old and the game has passed him by in some ways. That doesn't detract from his track record of success.
  9. Lucky? He drafted Peyton. That's not Lucky. It's smart. We had the chance to draft several terrific QBs. We weren't unlucky, we were bad.
  10. There are lots of franchises that get great QBs that doesn't mean winning multiple Super Bowls is easy or expected. It's not like they missed the playoffs 60% of the time.
  11. Bill Polian is a great GM don't kid yourself. "He only won one Super Bowl with Peyton" is a lame argument. They won so many divisions and playoff games, they just got beat by some other great organizations/Quarterbacks in the playoffs.
  12. I personally am happy with the Panthers decisions so far but we need to see the plan come together in the draft. We need to see any glaring problems addressed after the draft. When I look at our roster I see unrestricted free agency as offering us diminished returns. Can we upgrade? Yes. How much of an upgrade can we get and at what cost? Small to medium upgrades at a large cost are available. I rather look forward to next off season than feel buyers remorse in September.
  13. What Polian is talking about with one side being young is what the Colts have been doing since Andrew Luck was signed. They've been drafting young and cheap on offense and hiring veterans with salary on defense. I haven't looked at their cap this year but last year the Colts were the 1st or 2nd in defensive cap spending and bottom 5 in offensive.
  14. I like that he has experience and can come in if Roman Harper is too slow.
  15. Thats a good place for Greg. Obviously not good for us. But good for him.
  16. Marc sucks. I will follow Chris into social media battle any time.
  17. He's bad in our offense. If we played 4 or 5 wide he could take advantage of less skilled defensive backs in nickel and dime packages. But we quite often run three receivers against 5 defensive backs and he can't separate from coverage. Against the Falcons Cam thew to him, he was wide open and the ball arrived in stride. The defensive back closed distance on him as if he were in quick sand and broke it up. If you put Ginn in that same position, he maintains his separation. Although you would feel less confident he catches it.
  18. Montsta I know what you mean. Sometimes when I pull into my neighborhood there will be a young lady walking a dog or riding a bike and she is looking at me suspiciously and I am looking at anything but her. She's scared of me, I'm scared of her and we are both perfectly normal people. It's sad that a very small number of perverts can put paranoia in all of us. Then you hear stories like that girl that was a slave in Cleveland and the neighbors didn't even know.
  19. It's one thing to have a kid say "hi!" to you as his mom rolls by with a shopping cart. It's another thing to stop a van, roll down the window, and talk about skateboard tricks. The only good reason to have a van is for your work. People working don't stop to talk skate board tricks.
  20. I'll remember him for the good times. It's just easier that way.
  21. We have so much time to build this team. Draft coming up, undrafted free agents. Second wave of cuts after the draft. Possible trades.
  22. I hope he doesn't play football like a kid in a candy store...
  23. There are multiple decision makers in Cam's life. He has a team that manages him, he has a family that is very opinionated, and then he has himself. Sometimes when Cam acts of his own volition, it is a stark contrast to what his people and family expect from him. I don't know enough about Cam on a personal level to predict his future behavior. But he has surprised me before.
  24. There are several people on the Huddle that act like Cam is their buddy. Like they chatted over lunch and know exactly what he is thinking. Don't pass off your own train of thinking as Cam's. To the credit of the OP, he started by admitting he could be wrong.
  25. You would step between Cam's truck and his "haters". Is your bias righteous?
