Falcons fined $350,000 and lose 2016 fifth round draft pick

I like him in the 3rd or 4th, not sure he'll be there in the 5th. Pretty similar to Hardy's range.

@JosinaAnderson WR Hakeem Nicks told me this morning that he is traveling today to California to visit the #49ers. Nicks played for the #Colts last season.

If it came down to Peat or Perriman....
jdpanther5 replied to MedellinHeel's topic in Carolina Panthers
I like Perriman...as a second rounder. I've got him in that second tier alongside Agholor, Coates, Funchess, and Devin Smith. He may have surpassed those guys but not enough to surpass Strong (or even DGB from a talent perspective). In this scenario I'd take Peat and then one of those receivers I mentioned at 57 (56? Lolfalcons). -
So then what do you think we should do about it? Just not bother signing guys because they were cut elsewhere? Last season we found Remmers off the scrap heap and he gave us quality play down the stretch.

I'm not entirely I buy that, but ok. -

Avant wasn't cut for on-field reasons...and I'm not advocating we put Cotch in the slot, that has Ginn/Philly written all over it, but I do think we'll take the best 5-6 guys and I think Cotchery would fit in fine as a a 4-6 receiver. And sure, we can save a bit this year by cutting him, but then we'll have to take on a $1.35m hit next season. -

Are they that similar though? I mean, last season we kept both Cotchery and Avant, and I find that pair much more comparable. Underwood was supposed to be the vertical threat, but he was outperformed by both so we kept two position receivers as our 2 and 3. -

I kinda think we'll go back to having 6 receivers...once we cut Avant we were stuck with KB, Cotch, Philly, Bersin, and Presley. I also don't think adding Jennings necessarily means Cotchery is gone, all he has to do is beat out the likes of Bersin, Presley, Hill, Lucas, and Mike Brown for one of those last spots. Benjamin, (Jennings), Cotchery, Brown, Ginn, and probably a rookie. -
@Rapsheet #Nebraska pass-rusher Randy Gregory, who impressed during his private workout today, visited the #Panthers last week. Unlikely he gets to 25

@BlackBlueReview Well then … remember how the #Panthers got two comp picks, a 5th & 6th? The 6th has been changed to a 5th. So both comp picks are now 5th.

OP updated with full list of picks.

So we'll have picks 161 and 169 in the 5th round. Also, my first full pie! Delicious.

@BlackBlueReview #Panthers were awarded two compensatory picks: 5th and 6th rounders.

@wingoz Dolphins looking at adding WR depth...will talk with both Crabtree and @GregJennings
-
I see this a lot, so I'm not singling you out, but I'm not sure I agree. Is Cotchery really not one of our top 5-6 receivers? Even if we add Jennings? Benjamin, (Jennings), Ginn, Cotchery, Brown, (Rookie)
-
Only the top two rookies actually fall into the top 51 contracts, and those two bump two other contracts out. The net impact is more like $1 million.
-
Johnson got $10.5m over 3 years. I could live with that, just no more than $3m in year 1 and no guarantees. That way he either lives up to it and gets a slight raise next season, or he doesn't and we cut him with no liability.

So Whatever Happened to That DB We Drafted from WV?
jdpanther5 replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
Brandon Hogan? Cut. -
Didn't Dickson get 3? I get what you're saying though.
