90. That's how many roster spots we have to fill. Every year we bring in about a dozen receivers when only 5-6 actually make the team. In no way does Boykin preclude us from bringing in anyone else via FA or the draft. Plus Boykin is a plus contributor on Special Teams, and it's been said we're looking for "special teams aces" this offseason. 2 + 2 =

Saints deal TE Jimmy Graham to Seahawks
jdpanther5 replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
They can renegotiate, but unless they do everything remains constant. Any signing/restructure bonuses already paid and amortized by the previous team immediately accelerates and impacts their cap. New team takes over responsibilities on any future workout/roster bonuses. -
@mortreport When @KCChiefs clear cap space, Jeremy Maclin will sign a 5-year, $55 million deal, including $22.5 million in guarantees. $11 mill avg
-
Haven't heard anything on that.

I'm kinda hoping for it, seems like they'd be the most willing to pay him above market value given their cap situation. If we can get a 3rd or 4th compensatory pick I'll be thrilled.

@JasonLaCanfora Andre Johnson's first visit was with the Colts. 7 other teams interested. Taking it one day at a time I'm told sorting through things
-
@RapSheet Greg Hardy has 6 interested teams, looming as one of the more talented available FA. May take a visit.
-
Also this: @SiriusXMNFL Steve Smith Sr "Luke Kuechly is killing it and has to be paid as one of best NFL players. If Carolina won't, somebody will"
-
@JasonLaCanfora Harvin ideally like to be in a high-octane offense with an elite QB if on a prove-it contract, but the Bills are certainly throwing $ around

Sam Bradford + picks traded to Philly for Nick Foles
jdpanther5 replied to jamos14's topic in Carolina Panthers
Steve weighs in. @SiriusXMNFL Steve Smith Sr "Trading Bradford to try and move up for Mariota is like trying to trade a Honda for a Mercedes" -
@JBXAM From Jason Worilds: "I appreciate all of the interest from the organizations that have reached out to us the past few days. With that being said, after much thought & consideration I have chosen to step away from football as I have opted to pursue other interests. I am especially grateful of the opportunity to play before some of the greatest fans in football today. Despite any concern and speculation that may ensue, I appreciate those that are respectful of my decision."

No, but we don't really need another tier 4 one either.

@JasonPhilCole @Revis24 signs for 5-year, $70M deal. Includes $39M FULLY guaranteed, $33M in the first two years. #Jets

@RavensInsider Broncos sign tight end Joe Don Duncan from Dixie State Game changer.
-
@RapSheet Derrick Morgan, #Titans edge rusher, is headed to the #Falcons for his first visit.

Yeah guys the cap doesn't matter, the Saints just traded Graham for shits and giggles.

Reminds me of the NBA trade deadline this year.

Mort just said it's done. Wow, not sure how I feel. -

Is this like a last ditch attempt to get under the cap by 4? -
@RapSheet The #Saints have called around, open to shopping many of their players, source say. One notable player included: TE Jimmy Graham. For real.

Lol, so the all-pro kids withhold news from us underlings? That's cute.

All of that info is a year old.

(Rumor) Panthers interested in Cecil Shorts
jdpanther5 replied to jamos14's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shorts, when healthy (which I know isn't often), is a legitimate 2. He plays faster than his 40 but isn't a burner by any means. I actually think he's being underrated a bit this FA.
