"After all, the Carolina Panthers gave Bridgewater a three-year, $63M contract in 2020 with $33M guaranteed. However, the Panthers opted to trade Bridgewater to the Broncos the following season, agreeing to pay $7M of his $11.5M salary, with Denver absorbing the remaining $4.5M" So it was $4.5M they took on, not 40. Which is a good price for Teddy, hence the sixth coming back. At least we agree Darnald and his contract is a negative and not an asset. 2ND and 4th is a guess, I could very well by wrong. What I fear is our brain trust grabbing every option they see too get more money to pay Watson

Debbie Downer checking in. You guys realize that is anyone takes on Darnald and his contract, we are the once paying with picks (lex Osweiler). Let's say Darnald is really worth $3M as a backup, that is $15M we need to pay someone to take on. 2nd and a 4th maybe? With a 5th coming back to save some face? It does make sense to do this a part of a Watson trade to hide just how horrible we handled Darnald. And he had value in Houston as starting option that will suck and guarantee a real high pick next year, but enough of a household name to make a case they are not obviously tanking.

New team the will be eager to push this year's cap hit down the road. Look for an extension with lots of new guaranteed cash. Cooper is not suffering hear.

It is only a matter of time before the full might of the gambling revenue hits. As a European used to soccer games bloated with live bets I'll be surprised if the value of every team will not double. It is one thing to predict this and another to see how addictive this actually is. Team values are not adjusted nearly enough yet. Sadly this will mean lots of broken families, but that is not Teppers problem.

Awesome! Short flight or about ten hours train ride from home, plus I have a friend living in the area. Sign me up! -
Our Roster -- Players We Feel Good About (Part 1 - Offense)**
Thorrez replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only way I see CMC holding up is moving him to receiver, and I think he has all the skills to be a really good slot guy. Robbie is decent as a decoy/speedster but it is clear he has given up any ambition of maximize his talent. Maybe a contact year will help if it is only motivation, and given he knew all along what darnald is i can't even blaim him for lacking it. With Moore and chuba that's more than above average skill guys (regardless of TEs). Add a great guard and we have, just, enough for a good QB to move the ball effectively. So all boils down to getting good QB play. I honestly don't see it next season, it certainly ain't on the roster. -
Any buzz about us considering him as OC? Would love that. A bit weird for everyone to know that the coach is a better QB than any one on the roster, but that will also mean the players will ignore anything Rhule say if McGown does not agree. Now I like it even more

I would love to see the weight curve of the prospects. Ideally you want someone struggling to keep weight on and not the other way around (Gross vs Otah being the prime examples). Of course hard to tell where they are on their curve as some of them are basically children, but moving like s guy 50 pounds lighter won't help at 400.

If Matt Rhule is the coach next season, I will…
Thorrez replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'll cheer MY team and hope that they turn it around of course! Complain all you want now, but once the jerseys are on you cheer YOUR team! That's what being a FAN means. It hurts and sucks at times but that's a part you need to deal with. If you can't, I suggest you only watch Scottish soccer and pick the Celtics. -
Could this team beat the 2001 or 2010 teams?
Thorrez replied to KillerKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Chill guys, we do have wins this year. The pure "below average but not awful" talent is there. I credit the drop off mostly to analytics exposing Rhule and him unable to adjust. His system simply depends on out-talenting the opponents, great in collage if you are a good recruiter but does not work at this level. -
We banked on: *Darnald being serviceable *CMC holding up *Defense being legit *Rhule's coaching being an asset I can see the argument given our limited options. The really question is if they admit it and fire Rhule...

Washington cuts K Dustin Hopkins. Is he an upgrade?
Thorrez replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
You want to sign a veteran cut by Rivera! And this is from a Rivera fan, even I see that blind spot. -
Awesome post. You should break it out and start a new thread with it, it deserves more attention than being buried here. So the simple explanation is that Paradise was OK as a run blocker and the cowboys had found even bigger weaknesses that they attacked on passing plays so he wasn't exposed. Make sense.

So the same day saints fan say "Darnald could pitch a tent back there" we should mortgage the farm for a LT because we all saw Von Miller killing Remmers on the right side a couple of years ago? Whatever you're drinking, I want some.
-
Wait for the first game we will be out of before halftime, we would see a lot more backups early in those (and they will come). I don't mind us running CMC into the ground in the games we are in, our roof looks like sneaking into the playoff as a 9-10 win team, if we put full focus on the winnable games.

Jets fan är happy for exactly one week every season and it is this one. Just leave them alone in their delusions, they'll be back in reality around halftime on Sunday. Love those posts too, thank you onyourown!

Second Team to reach 100% Vax status....
Thorrez replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
The irony is that for ps players it matter much less to the team if they are not vaccinated. Five days out for a close encounter, so what as they are not playing anyway. That said, if i was a coach in my sixties there is no way I would accept that extra risk for myself, even if I was vaccinated, for a play that far down the roster. -
Small market, 1PM slot games, unknown guy, bad team (until proven otherwise), "does not impact every play". A lot of factors not in his favor. This is a decent bet for money you don't need because you want it to happen. It is not a good bet for a serious long term betting strategy (then again, high odds almost never is).

Did you think you got snubbed of droy? Chinn: Yes Athlete's speak: I just focus on the teams and my craft and Young is a great player and the sun is shining... I agree their styles didn't really match, but it was extremely refreshing with some straight up answers.
