Lowered head to initiate contact AND helmet to helmet. Anyone of these is enough in itself. Just make the call reviewable, or make a sky judge/New York make a 10s call. This is just embarrassing both way right now.

Jacob Eason… Come on down. Thoughts on his limited play?’
Thorrez replied to panthersgreenville's topic in Carolina Panthers
Season is dead, question is do we want to see PJ dump it off into the flat and the defense placing everyone and his grandmother in the box? Att least the kid has an arm for a change, give him five games and see if he can put it together. If he sucks (which is mostly likely). Worst case he is an interception prone gunslinger, that gives away every other game, but also wins games he shouldn't, and that is if nothing else fun to watch. If he just plain suck no harm done, first pick here we come. -
REPORT: Burns practically a "lock" to be traded before the deadline
Thorrez replied to saX man's topic in Carolina Panthers
4 years 85 million with an extra void year or to at the end. Kept the cap around ten the first two seasons. And here is the kicker. Offer 50 million in up front cash at signing. This is what the Rams keep doing and a benefit in having a very rich owner that can dish out at loan and not wait for the money from the NFL in coming seasons. Very few people can turn down that kind of money, even if they wanted out before. -
The crazy thing is we would be 3-0 with Cam Newton
Thorrez replied to OneBadCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
If you wanna play the what if game, we are a playoff caliber roster if we had kept Heinike and Allen and poured all the waste qb-resource into the rest of the roster. If course the huddle would be in flames from us ignoring the QB position -
Well, I guess an expert AT sucking should know sucking when he sees it...

Panthers were one pick away from Justin Herbert...
Thorrez replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Every qb-needy team in the league misjudged Herbert, or they would have traded up for him. This includes the Chargers. Allen, Mahomes, Lamar, the list goes on to prove the most important factor in picking a QB is luck. Rhule certainly has enough really proven faults, you don't have to make extra ones up. -
It is all cba regulated, all team use every minute they can. And your are correct, it is nowhere enough of you don't workout on your own as well.
-
Look at the Saints, it can be done. The problem is you need to rethink the conversational "must have a all pro blindside protector". You need three awesome internal guys too have the lanes open both for throws and for stepping up. You can let your tackles force the ends to the outside to buy a second and not worry about them getting beat. Decent journeymen can do this. The good news is that guards and centers are cheap(ish), so this is doable over two drafts/fa periods. The bad news is I have zero fate in our current staff pulling this off. And, you need to adopt your offence to this which is another bad news due to the fate in our staff.
-
McDaniels would be the win here, if he would have accepted and we didn't offer that would be the real mistake. Picking Rhule over the rest of the bunch of not a worse bet than any other, although did turn out worse. I agree with your other point, he should have been forced to pick a former head coach as coordinator just to learn the basics from.
-
Stop pretending like it was a choice between a success and a failure. The other hot hire in the cycle was Judge, and a assume that is not what you call a success? Mediocre team without a QB in a division the Tom Brady decided to make his home. Tell me ove available coach he should have hired that would have been a success before you start to tell about admitting mistakes. Sometime all your options are shitty. And if you think I'll defending Rhule, reread the first sentence.

Does anyone else think we could win the South?
Thorrez replied to Stuart Smith's topic in Carolina Panthers
A week ago: No way! Even wrote so here. Today: Yes, they got me sucked in. Again... I guess I just like being let down -
Yes it’s homerism but bet on the Panthers to win the division
Thorrez replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Saints might have the best d in the league and you know about the really really old guy in Tampa? We might make a jump but both of them will not fall apart. Plus first rule of betting never bet with your heart if real money is involved. -
So if I get this right, unless you do what a HOFer did you are hot garbage? Robbie is an overpayed middle of the pack WR2, nothing more but also nothing less.
-
A lot of this is on coaching, you need to know your players and either don't call this or make sure it will work (if the means talking up how tough the player is, promise a TD route later or anything in-between). I'm going to guess this was an old school tough guy in charge that thinks players are Xs and all that is needed is yelling.

We are a CHAOS team per Brooks, but some see us as a team in chaos
Thorrez replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
We have a team that can win while being outplayed, as our best players are generally have game changing skills (ball hawk secondary, sack specialist, break away ability) rather when always solid. The problem is that this kind of team also regular gives away games while outplaying opponent. And yes, with a QB that gives games away, point one is moat. -
We have a consensus first overall pick, one year out, on the roster already. And it is not Baker. It was even serious talk if it was worth tanking for him because he was such a sure thing.
-
He was in 2020, but nice debate technic to bash on a detail instead of the discussed point. Answer this instead, do we will more or less games with Baker than Sam/Corral?
-
The rational is that he is a proven top ten QB with the right support, while being an ahole or whatever he is. Sam is a proven bust and Corral is a mid round rookie. The rational for not getting him is we want to lose, or think we will lose regardless.

What Are The Chances that Christian McCaffrey Stays Healthy?
Thorrez replied to Pantha-kun's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've been on the "move him to the slot" train since he signed the extension reasoning that contact was terrible for a RB, which reality had proven, but good for att rb/slot hybrid. Just use him exactly like we used Samuel and he'll easily give us a 1000 yards a season. -
He is gaming us. If we start to win this statement makes all the sense. "It was just a matter of time" If we suck, Rhule is gone and we will get the "You always want to believe but what my business taught me is that sometimes you got to be willing to take a loss and move on".
-
I would be very surprised if there is not a very strong order from Tepper not to spend that cap. I'll be hard enough as it is to get a decent new head coach once Rhule is gone, but with lots of cap and a promise of a last say over the roster at least you can make a case.

Tom Brady taking what should have been Greg Olsen's spot
Thorrez replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why worry about what happens in 2047? -
Looking at that list, one can see why the Rams trade for proven players and ignore the casino that the draft is. I guess trading for unproven players makes little more sense even if this was an all time miss. And regardless nothing excuses the option pick up.

The easy way to win in poker is to get the best hand from luck. Another way is to convince the opposition you have the best hand when you don't. But what really sets the best players apart is to convince people that even if they know they have the better hand, you will protect yours so much that it will still not be worth while to bet. Tepper knows Darnald suck, he also knows he get a lot better deals on qbs is he can convince everyone he think Darnald is the best hand. And obviously he has the fan base och local media fooled...
