It's almost like most owners don't really care about winning as much as the fans do so long as their toy continues to go up in value every single year....
-
Honestly, neither.

If the Panthers land Stafford, it is win now, not rebuild
thefuzz replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Kinda where I'm at. I know it's not the way that I would do it, that's for sure. But at the very least, it seems we have capable football minds making decisions for the Panthers right now (excluding Teppers involvement) so I have to put some faith in them. If Fitt and Rhule think that's the very best direction I'll give em a little slack, it would be a HUGE gamble with them being in year 1 and year 2 of long contracts...could bite them in the butt. Much "safer" to have the long game in mind. -
If it’s not a QB who do you want in the draft

Has already been delayed. -
If it’s not a QB who do you want in the draft
thefuzz replied to MGH1989's topic in Carolina Panthers
If no QB in the draft, then I'm hoping that we got MS or DW....if so, we likely gave up our pick in doing so.... That said, Sewell or trade back, I don't want anything else. -
That many question marks around Fields? I'm not a fan, but I'm just a guy.
-
lmao Daniel Jeremiah has us picking Sewell
thefuzz replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in 2023 NFL Draft
This was my point as well. If we can't get DW, or Wilson/Fields...then Sewell and Stafford, plus a tag on Moton, and we could be a pretty decent team next season. -
That would be......steep. Hope we pull the Mahommes Lever, and not the Trubiski Lever.
-
You will just have to do a lot of them again, and the payoff won't be nearly as fun...I've gone to playing the story only...and wandering about but staying in the same "shire".
-
CMC and Burns...very possible. CMC and a 1st...sure. Burns and a 1st...maybe. All 3? Hell no. F outta here.
-
Agreed. I need to watch some more of him. A trade back and grabbing him and an extra 2, now that we have a talent guy in the house...I'm not hating it.
-
That cardinal as an Avatar got anything to do with your taking up for Teddy B here?
-
I think that we will make a push for Watson first and foremost. If that doesn't happen, and I'm betting against it, they will start making calls to see what it will take to move up to 3 or 4, and weigh that against what it would cost to get Stafford in the building. I also think that there is a GOOD chance of a trade down, and a Jones selection.

Ron and Marty much preferred very top heavy teams...didn't think the bottom of the roster could help you win, or earn starting snaps very often...they were, in other words, just overloooked. Means we kept guys here, on the roster, longer than most teams would have, or should have.
-
I'm not sure I agree with the "draft one every year" thing, unless he's serious about trading back to acquire additional picks...but if I were in that seat, the number 3 QB would likely be a revolving door, and one would only stick once they proved to be a better option than the number 2 guy on the roster.
-
Yes, Wilson is a better NFL QB than Cam. Doesn't take anything away from Cam, but Russell is turning out to be a great one.
-
I'll trade the 8 and CMC...anything further, outside of a day 3 pick, and I'm looking elsewhere. Remember DW ain't on a rookie deal any longer.
-
Don't be surprised if we hear about us doing a LOT of digging on Mac Jones.
-
As to "we don't want Seattle 2.0" It's worth noting that Pete has significant say in that building, and he's not a big O Line guy...especially with his secret weapon back there at QB...doesn't mean that's the way Scott sees it.
-
I don't like putting numbers on when the talent falls off, but he's right. Top 15 should be a day 1 starter (outside of QB), I don't feel the same way about pick 28. I do like trading back moreso than trading up, or standing pat and taking the guy you could have gotten a little later...especially if we have a real talent evaluator at the helm...which we finally do. I'll trust him until shown otherwise.

He absolutely needs to do a Master Class on YouTube focused on either blackmail or kissing ass....not sure which he was really good at, but it was one of the two.

Breaking down the David Tepper interview - My Thoughts
thefuzz replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not kidding, I was shocked that he didn't even bring in a "consultant" to help him make the transition to being a "new" owner in the NFL...just trusted what the guy before him....who got kicked out of the league....had trusted. Just seems like a dumb idea from the start. But, hats off....only took a couple years to see the incompetence. -
Breaking down the David Tepper interview - My Thoughts
thefuzz replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
This was my point from the very start. How the hell can you be smart enough to build what he had built for himself, earn and keep that kind of money, then purchase a billion dollar asset and look at Marty Hurney's and Ron's record and think thats the folks you want to trust with your 10 figure investment? Maybe those "football people" telling him to keep Marty and Ron.....possibly....maybe....perhaps....didn't have the Carolina Panthers' best interest in mind? Whatever, water under the bridge...but once again....missed opportunities.
