Good writeup. Thank you. Just confirms my thoughts...these guys make me nervous. No wonder Stafford's price tag was so high.

What we did was stupid. End of story.
-
This is where I am. The contracts to Shaq and CMC were dumb last offseason, this just makes them worse. Instead of Hurneying (trying to win when it's obvious you shouldn't) we should have been building up the core of the team and setting ourselves up for 21 and beyond. Instead, we are a dumb team that continues to do dumb stuff.

You don't understand what you are typing, or you do and you don't understand smart football decisions. You clearly don't understand the differences between rookie deals signed as 1st rounders, and the rest of the lot, if you are comparing CMC to Cook and Kamara.
-
Do you know that CMC had a 4 year contract with a 5th year team option and Marty Hurney signed him to an extension immediately following what will likely be his best year as a pro after only his 3rd year of his rookie contract? Or, maybe, just maybe, we could have used that money, combined with Shaq's money to sign Bradberry and Moton to extensions last season, or for James, even the season before? Nah, let's pay an off ball average LB top tier money, and a running back on a rookie deal with 2 years remaining to the top of the pay scale for his position.
-
Didn't like signing Shaq to begin with. Hated signing CMC a year early. Now we make the contracts worse...at two of the least valuable positions is all of football. Almost feels like Marty's back.
-
You want me to drop you a pin? It'll show you exactly where I've been swearing. I swear to God this team continues to baffle me. Said a couple days ago that it felt like we were about to do something stupid...I guess the Panthers just simply can't help themselves.
-
We refuse to learn.
-
Which part is a lie?
-
If that makes you sleep better. He's an average LB, making top of the heap money...and not playing the most important spot in the LB corps. Bad signing period. Should have never inked the CMC or the Shaq deal.
-
I know you to be smart, so it really confuses me when you continue to be this wrong about something thats in black and white in front of your face. Shaq carries a cap hit only second to Bobby Wagner. That is flatly awful for an average player.
-
Shaq's contract, like all Marty Hurney contracts is an absolute disaster. He's slated to be the 2nd highest paid ILB in the league next season...that includes actual MLB's. What a disaster.

Was the Gettleman's 2017 draft class the best in Panthers history?

LOL. I could pick apart your false narrative, but it's not worth my time. -
Edit to say: The biggest douche's are the higher net worth millionaires, more so than the B's I know.
-
I personally know a few B's, none are douchebags. However, that is the rarity, not the norm.

Dave Gettleman was a far better GM than most Panthers fans are willing to give him credit for. I'm glad that we have someone else, but cutting DG and replacing him with Marty set us back 3 or 4 years. F Jerry.- 55 replies

Yup, and with a cap hit of 8M, I'm not interested. No YAC Zach.
-
Don't know if it was injury, but every time I watched him play last season, I came away unimpressed.
-
That was such a stupid extension.

New Peter King FIMA article breaks down 2021 draft prospects

Thank you, was a nice read. Really hope we don't do something stupid, but it feels like we are going to do something stupid. -
Moton.

This (like most all real estate) will be a very localized thing. Where I am, renters are paying on time, and up front in many cases. Friend of mine just rented his house for $3,200 per month and got the full year up front. My little group has quite a few rentals, we went up on price about 20% at the beginning of last year and all of them stayed and pay in full on the 1st. Everywhere is different, but that could be a concern in certain markets.
-
At this point, all we can do is hope. I've been pretty critical of Tepper over his 3 years of ownership, and will continue to do so until I see us start to make good decisions on a consistent basis. That said, this front office and coaching staff leads me to think, that in the very least, maybe we got a few important decisions right...finally.

Two completely different situations.

Correct. I was in the biz then as well. Stated income loans. Think about that for a minute.
