  1. The thing here, is it was avoidable. Most here could see a dead in the water GM that should have never been here, a rookie owner who has no clue what he's doing, and the hiring of a college coach, who got one of the bigger contracts in the entire NFL....many thought that this would fail. Hell, if you didn't you don't pay attention to the NFL. How did Tepper not see it? I'm serious. How?
  2. Short answer? No. However, the good news is....we are primed for a total rebuild with tons of cap space and a new GM...right when the rest of the division is heading toward major shakeups. Oh poo...that's not true...we were primed for a perfect rebuild and the coach, that the owner hired and gave way too much power to, thought we were ready to win now and treated his cap space and future picks that way. Now we must start all over again, since we didn't do it correctly the first time. Tepper needs to hire someone that truly understands the NFL, and allow them and Fitt to run the show. He HAS to get away from this team. He has proven that if there is a decision to be made, he will make the wrong choice.
  3. I think Fox was better than Ron, but that's just me. That said, Rhule is a disgrace.
  4. I cannot recall not seeing many Panthers games over the past 10 years...from wire to wire. I may fast forward through the ads, and I may have to watch it a little later than gametime, but I do see them. This season marked the end of that, but I feel I waited too long. Tepper has caused all of this...he and he alone are to blame. I hope he understands this. P.S. He doesn't.
  5. God how did the Panthers once again screw up a perfect time to rebuild? If we are trying to get better long term, trade back and bulking up the OL is the correct move. I don't care if it's C, G, or LT...we need to grab some players there and stop treating the OL like the Safety position. Trade back, unless there is a top LT at 8...and my hunch is if there would be one...he will go before our pick...grab Guards and Centers if needed, hopefully recoup a day two pick and again, G/C/T is my choice there. We are enamored with our CB's and WR's, but don't have the big guys to make them successful, we must build from the inside.
  6. Said it then...we should have ridden out with Kyle...let Cam walk, don't sign Teddy, and rebuild. Instead, we cut Cam (correct), signed Teddy (incorrect), paid Teddy to leave (incorrect), traded for Sam (incorrect), then brought Cam back (incorrect). Now we have sunk cost in Cam, Teddy, Sam, and whomever is starting/playing for us next season. We are a dumb team, always have been.
  7. I've been here most of my entire life. There are different ways to look at how you view it. We live near the water, have a boat and slip, and use the hell out of it....but we have high paying jobs and have access to tons of creature comforts (that my wife requires) i.e. great food, grocery stores, bars, salons, etc.... When we want the "old Wilmington" we hop on the boat and run 30 minutes North...ah...just like the old days....then we come back and have the jobs here on Monday that allow that type of access. I'm not saying it's "better" but it's a hell of a lot better than almost anywhere else in the state to call home.
  8. Holy smokes...you seen Charlotte over the last 20? If you are into the water, there is no better place in NC...if you want to have some access to day to day life off of it. Man, we will hit the boat on Saturday for a few hours, pick up some oysters from up near stump sound and grill them that night...have a few buds over and make an afternoon of it. Awesome place to live. If I was feeling a little more exciting, I'd go dive and shoot a few fish as well.
  9. I really wish we had done so. Even if Slater couldn't play LT, and he's proven he can, a high level starting G is very important at well...just as much as a run stuffing DT....IMO. Not a pass rush DT mind you, but a Brown type player. This team has tried, to fix the O Line, they just have no idea how to do so...spanning a few coaching staffs now.
  10. The only draw to Charlotte that I would normally have would be the 8 home games per year, and the airport. That's it...and right now...it's just the airport. There are so many places in NC that I would prefer to live it's not even close...but where I live ranks no. 1...no better place right now than Wilmington...IMO.
  11. Man, how sad. I do have some questions though. RIP

Unless it's a need, and sounding like it's not for me at this time, I guess I'll be waiting. Thanks.
  13. I'm completely out, sucks to say, but a couple big changes to my life, along with the Panthers being mismanaged from the tip top, to the very bottom is just not something that I'm willing to devote time nor resources to. They are going to need to do more than sign a crowd favorite at QB to win my fandom back. Good luck David.
  14. Focusing on "business" side of things first. Soccer. Concerts. Already begging taxpayers for money. Keeping Marty. Keeping Ron. Hiring Rhule and giving him unlimited power. Hiring a GM in an upside down power structure. Field Turf. His mistakes go on and on and on...I'm not even sure he's made a single good decision since he's been here...I'm sure I'm wrong on that, but it certainly doesn't feel like it. I really really wanted him to bring Colbert over from the Steelers and give him the bag to get his tenure started...or at the very least, someone like him. Man this has been a disaster so far.

Are these still tough to find out in the wild?
  16. As I stated in another thread...so far, when David Tepper has a choice to make, he makes the wrong one. That means I'm bracing for Rhule to be here again next season.
  17. Were I him, I'd be taking my sizable amount of cash, sticking it in the bank, and going to work for next to nothing on a good offensive staff. He's likely going to be around for as long as he wants in the NFL, and will probably be an OC again, but he needs some time, and a much better situation.
  18. No to Bienemy...I never want disciples of Andy. No to Byron. I'm not interested in one of Bruce's disciples either...especially when he has Tom making his job MUCH easier. Pederson scares me, not sure why, but he does. I think I would want Daboll, Eberflus, or Hackett at this point. I wanted Kevin Stefanski last time.
  19. I don't think that we have enough information yet to know what Tepper is going to do. Typically, he makes the wrong decision when he has a choice, so my guess is he gets another year.
  20. Seems he's impatient, and didn't have a firm grasp on how close, or far away the Panthers were from being a good football team. Not surprising, he's a college guy. He keeps hoping for the best, while not preparing for the worst...in this case, a disaster of a signing in both Teddy and now Sam. Not good.
  21. I think that the entire NFL is having a very hard time with the QB and the LT positions....maybe even O Line as a whole? Teams simply cannot predict OL and QB it seems with any consistency, we are no different. End of the day, Horn is a very good player, and likely graded out as one of the best players in the entire draft, he can be a cornerstone for your franchise, and he was needed....however, we did have a dire need for QB and OL...soooooo. We should have committed to a rebuild, but Tepper got in the way...then Rhule.
  22. Leave Morgan and Fitt alone until they have proven that they cannot handle the job. Rhule has proven that he cannot, he should be relieved of his duty at the conclusion of the season. Tepper needs to fix the structure, and let Fitt and Morgan do their jobs and select a coach. Then...Tepper needs to go to Pittsburgh and cut off all communication with the team...we may have a chance if he does that. Otherwise, we are the new Jets/Jags.
