  1. I'm always interested how many of this "handful" of posters actually went to said school?
  2. I woke up one day, and my life would never be even similar again to the previous one...jarring at 40. It's actually making this medicine much easier to swallow. I'd really be frustrated if I still cared for the team.
  3. I am simply amazed at how many posters on this board always gave him credit for "nailing" the 1st rounder. How many times did Hurney give away a 1st? How many times has Hurney drafted in the 1st for the Panthers? How many of those have been picks 17-32? Of those, which ones were solid hits? Hurney was bad at every single aspect of his job, other than keeping it.
  4. In Wilmington, it's beautiful most of the time until mid November, I'll be on the boat. Cruising, fishing, grilling, having beers....certainly won't be screaming at a television screen, nor caring what's actually happening at BOA.
  5. This is exactly where I am. My life changed 180 degrees last year...going to be doing things that are a LOT more valuable to me than watching every single NFL game every week (which I did for years), much less watching this mess of a team. Frees up about 20 Sunday's next year. Sad part, it didn't have to be this way, it could have been an awakening of a franchise, instead we head into a dark age.....again.
  6. If I had a no trade clause, you can bet your ass I'm vetoing a possible trade to Carolina were I in his shoes. Can't imagine wanting to be part of this dumpster fire after being in one in Houston for so long. I'd be walking to Pittsburgh right now, we know they are fine with woman abusers on the squad, and have historically been one of the best run teams in sports.
  7. This is true. The one thing that I would tell myself (financially) looking back, was start investing in the market early and often, don't worry about the ups and downs, you aren't going to pull it out for 20-40 years. I'd hate to guess how much more money I'd be worth, but it's probably North of 1/2 million more had I invested regularly and without much restraint. Max out your 401. If you don't have one, get a SEPP. In addition try to throw as much toward a Roth IRA as possible and don't look at it but a couple times per year.
  8. Hah, no thank you. No more time being spent on the team where they could benefit from me in any way. Certainly no more money spent on the team. The only way that I'd spend money on the team right now is if they went to Munich to play...and the team would be an excuse at that point, not the reason to spend the money. Honestly though, I should save myself the slight bit of pain I'd feel after attending a loss in Germany...and just go to Germany and not watch a football game.
  9. Unfortunately, he already is a much worse owner. He's not as bad of a human, but he's a worse owner.
  10. I'm pretty sure I remember a poster doing a thread named Hurney 2.0 a LONG time ago and many here came out of the woodwork to back up our GM at the time....pretty sure I remember that. Anyone who knows anything about football knew that Hurney was an awful GM. Some here loudly spouted "Have you never heard of on the job training" or "have you never learned from previous mistakes" to anyone who knew what was going to happen. The moment that Hurney was brought back into the building I knew we were headed straight to the bottom...it was just plain simple to see. Then Tepper came...Oh boy, we can finally rid ourselves of this anchor of a GM....Finally!! Then Hurney and Ron were retained...the smart amongst us once again knew where the franchise would be heading. Then Ron was fired....so everyone KNEW that Hurney would finally be shown the door again...the die hards got excited again...maybe Tepper smartened up, maybe he got good advice..... Then we retain Hurney....AGAIN. Oh My God, Tepper has absolutely no clue what he's doing....this will be a disaster.... Then we hire Rhule. Honestly, the fans never had a chance, the team never had a chance. Every single turn we have made horrible mistake after horrible mistake.
  11. Spending money on a team doesn't make you a good fan, not if they aren't even trying to put out a competitive product. The only feedback we have as fans is our time and money. The Panthers will get neither of mine until they are serious about at least attempting to win.
  12. Haason..thank you for your contributions, we wish you the best moving forward.
  13. If he does this, and the Panthers fans simply don't spend the money...maybe just maybe that would open some eyes. IMO it reeks of desperation....much like brining back Cam.
  14. Sorry, I read that as "it would only cost us 4M to trade him" I didn't realize you were talking about a total cap loss of 4M...not an additional 4 over the top of the 14.
  15. This is the only way. Embrace that we are a bottom 4 team, and treat the season as such...which we should have done for the past two and we wouldn't be here.
  16. This is wrong. If there is a boat to be had, trade back while staying in the top 12 or so. If not BPA and attempt to trade a player for a day two pick...or two. Play out the season as if we are the worst team in the league and try not to mortgage anymore of the future.
  17. Spring? Lot's of things. Putting a new Simrad in the boat...big ole boy. 19"er. New Marine Mat non skid on my loading platform and on my leaning post. Bought a new fishing rod and reel the other day, that will be nice. Rewiring all of the amp's, subs, and speakers on the boat...should jump out of the water, and planning a run up to Morehead City as soon as it's warm. I'm super excited. Oh, football season....no, nothing.
  18. If this were true, we could all be rich. If you think that you can time the real estate or stock markets...I have a really nice little something to sell you. Not saying you specifically, but timing the market is generally a fools errand.
  19. It's my favorite city I've ever been to...while there treat yourself and take the trains over to Switzerland...
  20. As soon as I saw the thread title I cursed. This would be the only way that I would consider spending a single penny on this team next year. I freaking LOVE Munchen.
  21. Any GM or Ford 1/2 ton pickups, especially more than 10 years old is a good bet to be able to stay on the road...and do the work yourself. GM tends to be a little easier to piece together than Fords.
