  1. To be fair, and I'm not trying to tie them together in any way as I think Burrow is much better... But he didn't "have" to transfer, he did because he couldn't win...he chose to transfer, and it paid dividends.
  2. Could be insurance, Winston did tear his ACL last season. Andy could work there if they are healthy, and get Thomas back.
  3. Would have chosen Sam, if he were an option, as that's what I would prefer to see this season..no more money spent or picks wasted by this coaching staff. That said, my answer depends on what happens in the draft. I don't want Jimmy on this team...he just get's us into a position that we may have to keep Rhule, even if we didn't want to...say 9 wins and we miss the playoffs. If I'm picking at 6, I don't want a rookie. If we just HAVE TO HAVE ONE in the 1st, please trade back for an additional 2nd. I'd prefer to sit and take the best OT that's available, and roll with Sam.
  4. Still doesn't. My job is dealing with this a LOT, but Jerry ain't the boss.
  5. P.S. I do wonder how Foxy would have done with a real GM all those years.
  6. Wow, thought for sure he was enjoying his life away from the game. Good Luck Coach.
  7. Points are great, but players are better. I liked it last year, but I think we missed out on some real good players, at key positions of need by trading back. Then again, maybe we didn't and Fitt had those players graded differently. Either way, I'm hoping for a good one this season. P.S. please don't trade back on 6 if a franchise LT is sitting there...I know we don't have a 2 or 3, but please don't do that.
  8. Yea...I was coming to post that. Real high LT's, especially top 10 guys haven't fared all that well lately. 20+ years ago that was one of the safest picks you could make...now, it's risky as all get out. The biggest freaks want to rush the passer vs. play T...I get it, but the talent needs to creep back into the O side of the line at some point.
  9. RIP, man we are losing bands that I came of age on...STP, Nirvana, Foo, Sublime, Cornell, etc....this sucks.
  10. Not my call. I didn't benefit 1 penny, I just sold it....certainly didn't take a commission...it actually cost me money to do it. There were two brothers and a sister that owned 1/3's. They no longer got along, and the other two didn't really have the desire to keep it up, nor the ability to pay the taxes and insurance. It costs about 30k per year to maintain the property, that's if you don't hire out labor for maintenance and do it yourself. My father and I had maintained it for the last 10 years on our own. It's not as easy as just saying "keep it in the family" I wanted that, but buying the other two out would have been more than I was comfortable taking out a loan for at the time.
  11. I was very fortunate that my grandfather saw into the future with his boys...bought a dirt cheap lot on one of the beaches here. Parked a school bus on it for a while and converted it himself into a "trailer" that they could sleep in and stay dry. You could walk to the beach in 2 minutes, or walk out the back door and jump into the waterway. Had a total of $2,400.00 in it. Total. His reasoning, if I keep the boys busy, and tired...there's only so much trouble they can get into. Back then, the island was almost unoccupied, so they surfed, swam, fished, crabbed, floundered, learned how to net for spots, etc.... The two boys and all their buddied would go down every Friday night...work all day Saturday...they were building a small home weekend by weekend for years....and then they could fish on Saturday night, and play all day Sunday. Pretty good trade off for a bunch of 12-15 year old boys from the country....and free labor for him. He kept that home his entire life...it kept my father and his brother out of jail...and kid free....along with a gaggle of their closest friends. I sold that home last year...it just so happened to keep me and my brother out of jail...along with a gaggle of my friends as well...nothing at all changed...except we worked on the pier and landscaping rather than stick framing a home. $2,400....kept 2 full generations of WILD boys from going downhill. Sometimes ya gotta think outside the box a little...he sure did...he saw where things in our little town were heading and tried to correct course for his children, and theirs. Miss ya man.
  12. It's a team that will need to get younger as PM get's further into his deal. Let's see if Andy can manage it, this looks like he's off to a good start this offseason.
  13. He's more interesting to me for sure, still want a top flight T though...if possible at 6.
  14. The team needs to look good week in and week out. I understand that everyone...even the best can poo the bed...but he needs 12 good to great games, not 3 good games.
  15. Velocity and placement is MUCH more important to me than arm strength. Can they make every throw? If the answer is yes, moving on...now how bout the velocity. I don't think you need to have a cannon, Burrow doesn't, but he can hit every single throw.
  16. Never be amazed at how stupid many of us are....Trent is a piece of work man.
  17. And O line. If they are patient, they will be rewarded...can't speed this up too much though. Also....keeping Baalke....Khan is an idiot.
  18. Could also be transitioning to a different style of offense. But you are correct on your call there.
  19. Likely...last year of his deal...can't have that nonsense on a super bowl caliber team. If he's making noise, you move him now while value is high, and you only control him 1 more year.
  20. Hardman is stepping up and they just snagged JuJu, and he's in the last year of his deal and likely wants a new deal...the Jets may be willing to do that to help with Wilson.
  21. This is what I was about to say...have Burns step up...that's how we replace Reddick.
  22. He will need to make the playoffs, while making the roster continue to get better each and every week. Starting fast, only to run out of gas after 5 games....he's a goner. He doesn't have to win a playoff game, but he needs to be competitive.
  23. IF we go tackle at 6, I think you may see Baker come back into play, post draft, or during. Not calling it, but could see it. I just can't see Rhule actually wanting to go into this season with a rookie...would almost be the nail in the coffin for him.
  24. Hmmmm, I thought it was a little more compact Rivers type release...but with much more velocity. Young Peyton is a good call as well.
