  1. Gonna be honest, I like Ron as a human being...but he's continuing to fall further and further down the list of smart football people. I swear man, come on Ron.
  2. Anyone got the breakdown on what it would cost whichever team is bringing him in...cap wise over the 21/22 season? Man that contract looks bad.
  3. In terms of positional value, TE sits somewhere around 10 or so in terms of value for starting offensive players. If you have a great one, great, otherwise, upgrade as much as possible around them.
  4. Only a scant few players actually hold any leverage, and many of them don't want to use said leverage, just not the way they are wired. End of the day, unless you want to do it like Revis, you aren't going to hold very much clout in the NFL.
  5. I knew two brothers who were with Patton the majority of his time during the war...they said similar things...when I could get them to talk. Said he was the only person in that war who absolutely loved being there...said he was sad when he knew it was over.
  6. Can't say I blame him for asking. Smart move. He likely wants to get 1 more deal under his belt.
  7. Didn't want Teddy as I knew we would be dog poo and he would win us just enough games to not have us able to pick a top QB this year. What happened? That was a dumbass move by the Panthers, and anyone that had an eye knew it. We tried to build the team wrong. Continuing to build the team wrong could result in MANY years of futility, not just 1 or 2. These QB's scare me, and it scares me even more that we may have to use 2 1sts (and more) to acquire one of them.
  8. A 2 or 3 for Darnold, Tag Moton, Draft Slater or Sewell, get CMC back, veteran TE that can catch....we may have something. Much prefer that over mortgaging the future on Lance.
  9. Probably should have worded it better, but you captured my fear. What I'm scared of is using two top 10 picks on any QB this year not named Trevor.
  10. We've been middling for the last 25 years. I sincerely hope you were not on board with Hurney 2.0, Keeping Ron, Bringing in Teddy, etc...if you are now talking about rushing things? This team should have done it correctly, Tepper had no idea how to do that, and now we find ourselves in dire straights. In this instance, I'd rather do it right, rather than right now. We missed our shot, now we will have to wait.
  11. If we were sitting there at 2 or 3, I would feel more comfortable about grabbing whichever one Fitt and Matt think is the best choice. Using 3 or 4 picks to grab one of these guys, and still possibly drafting in the top 10 next year is just not something I'm really interested in. None of these guys are clean prospects.
  12. Please don't mortgage the future on a QB not named Trevor. Please don't mortgage the future on a QB not named Trevor. Please don't mortgage the future on a QB not named Trevor.
  13. I'd argue some of his 2nds are why we were always so up and down. His "hit" % in the 2nd if damn near unbelievable, and then toss in the trade ups...whew.
  14. I doubt I would have touched the trophy, but I for sure would have been bombed out of my mind, dancing on the back of my new boat, partying with all my buds who just won the World Championship with me.
  15. It's going to end up costing the team $38M in cap space over two years for a player who cannot play, and should have never been on the team. Dumb team.
  16. Good for them, I'd be doing the same thing.
  17. In the biz, have been for almost 2 decades...heard a LOT of funny things over that time about real estate. My favorite thing about the biz? Everyone has bought a home, or lived in one before....so they absolutely must know everything about real estate....they simply must. I smile a lot.
  18. Very similar to Torry Holt, but a little better stats, but no Lombardi. Torry is a finalist this year 11 years after he retired. Smith could very well could get recognition earlier than 10 years after retirement, but there is a bit of a logjam right now.
  19. I agree...however, if I'm the Colts...I'm asking for something fairly large in return to offset that contract. Colts are in good shape overall, but a wrong move here could wreck that boat.
  20. There were some of what I consider fairly smart posters on this site last year criticizing me for warning them that you can see a pause or even a drop in the salary cap...they insisted I was an idiot, and that was a dumb way to look at extensions. I think there are some GM's out there that had that same mentality. It burned us once...this time we are going to fare much better. However, not as well had we started the rebuild in earnest when everyone with an eyeball knew it was time.
