  1. Doesn't have my respect or support until I see some good decisions coming out of there on a consistent basis.
  2. Should have kicked in full force when he kept Ron and Marty in year 1. Should have ticked you off with the "fix the business side first" crap. Should have pissed you off when a practice facility in SC was more important than fixing coaching and front office staff. He bought a loser, and kept losers in charge...when he earns my support, he'll get it.
  3. The fans should have already turned on Tepper.
  4. VERY strange move for the Steelers in general. It would be a mistake for the owners to change the way they have done things there, they are about as consistent as you can get in the NFL.
  5. Still can't believe the Steelers gave him that new deal. Didn't make sense then, surly doesn't now.
  6. From what I can tell, dead cap hit this year of right at 34M.
  7. I thought the deals were sooner than that? But like I said, haven't really looked into it for a while. Either way, I do expect to see more short term deals, but that trend started a few years ago when guys started taking 3 year deals to have a shot at another before their 30th B Day.
  8. Ehhh, I haven't looked into it fully just yet, don't care to either...but I'm pretty sure that a lot of players were going to get some pay raises when the new TV deals are done...I think that's soon no? Personally, were I a player, I would take my lumps this season, not stretch it out over 3.
  9. 2017 Draft. CMC, Moton, Samuel, Butker. 4 really really good players, and we mismanaged all 4. Bravo.
  10. Been thinking about that since I heard it was shrinking. Many will do 2 year deals with a player voidable 2nd year if I had to guess. It's what I would do.
  11. Sad, I think he had some issues with alcohol all the way back to his Chargers days. Outside of that, never heard a bad word about him.
  12. I'd probably give the boss 1. And bring it up, and have a LONG conversation about it. If he chose to stick with me, he got his 1....never again.
  13. Yea, I'm not going to cheer this on. Don't like an owner (especially one who trusted Marty Hurney) forcing GM's hands.
  14. Am I getting the very best year of their careers from each of them for 1 playoff trip? I think Foxy wins if so.
  15. Can't believe just how fast you guys are to hooray a meddling owner because in this instance you agree with him. If Tepper is forcing Fitts and Rhule to abandon any and all plans they had, and go after X player no matter the cost....I think we could be in for a fairly tough 2nd act in the Panthers saga.
  16. No, you hope to pay said tackles, and get a good young QB on a rookie deal. Kinda like what we were setup to do before we allowed Hurney to torpedo that. Once you sign the QB to the big deal, you need to replace the older, expensive tackles with fresh draft picks on rookie deals.
  17. Fans around here like to bring that up, I don't buy it. You don't let talent like that walk out the door, especially 2nd rounders who still want to get that big payday. James should have been extended after his 3rd season as the starter. Dumb team.
  18. How long have they been saying that? At some point you just have to realize that what you were trying to do, just isn't working. Self reflection. And now everyone is a year or two older, more expensive, and you are trending down in the division, not up.
  19. One of our most productive draft picks over the last 5 years. Doesn't miss time. Swung to LT in a pinch and looked good, great at RT. Has all but no help on the offensive line. Still looked good, even with no CMC and Cam's threat to run. Homegrown. No off field issues. No injury history. Plays one of the most important positions on the football field. If you don't extend guys like that, I'm not sure who you should extend. P.S. this is very similar to Bradberry.
  20. Trading Ryan, and that contract to a "contender" could be a good move for them.
  21. Seems like a great guy, and is for SURE a great story. Would love to see him stick around, but either way, hope he does well enough to help change his life forever.
  22. Likely "taking a little time" from the family, and stopped checking in. I REALLY wanted him to come here as a FA...IIRC, he signed a 5 for 50M deal, and I still was interested. RIP, good dude.
  23. No, he shouldn't have. Just because be did something wrong, doesn't mean we should go back and in time and do something else in it's place. Cutting Cam, and saving that money (and headache) was the correct move. Signing Teddy was the wrong move. We were so close to doing things correctly, then Tepper let Marty....well Marty.
  24. I had a hard time with the ending, and them leaving so many questions completely unanswered. However, yes, it's visually stunning and the writing up until the very end was fantastic.
  25. Brutal that SD, one of the very worst run sports franchises out there, got Rivers then Herbert. This isn't even like the Favre/Rodgers thing as the Pack set that up for themselves...nope, just Spanos lucking into back to back great QB's.
