If you have a "franchise" QB on the roster, signed long term, and you somehow still slip into the top 10 of the draft...I'm fine taking a weapon like Pitts. Until then...no.

This is how I feel about that situation. Cam could have been great...and been around a long time...but not the way he was allowed....and forced to play the game. Moving on....I tend to be frustrated about this team's past too much.

Can understand that stance, I just disagree with it. Cam needed to be coached HARD to get him to his full potential, AND to extend his career in the league. Ron and Co. were more than willing, as was Cam to use himself as a battering ram...everyone knows whats going to happen...everyone....and we still did it.

I 100% agree with this notion. Ron and Marty did Cam NO FAVORS....however, Cam was part of that as well. Lots of blame to go around over the past decade or so.

We had the chance to really do something special with him, but we boofed it. Mostly because of Jerry, Marty, and Ron. They wanted an outdated football team, and Cam was more than willing. The Panthers messed up their best opportunity over the last 20 years...but that's pretty normal around that headquarters. Hell we blew the last 3 off seasons just to win 15 games over 3 seasons...or however many we did.

Upside is great and all, but you have to get them there. I never thought that we captured Cam's upside...at least not consistently...and I don't think that Lance has that type of upside. That said, this is a much better front office and coaching staff than what Cam had.

Been saying that for a while now. We need to come to terms that we very well could be looking at Jones or Teddy starting for us this season. Once Stafford's price went so high, and Watson found himself in a pickle...I just keep feeling that we would have to sell the farm to get one of the top 4 guys. I'm not sold on Fields or Lance...in fact, don't think I want either of them if we have to trade a future 1 to get them.

Can't tell if he's that powerful or just the biggest man on the field... Small school prospects make me wary.

Agreed. At least it seems that we know what we want...IIRC all of the guys that we have brought on have been really athletic.

Looked like a marathon runner. Shocked me as well when it happened. I can't imagine how tough on your body it must be to carry around an extra 80 LBS over what you would feel healthy at.

I'm starting to think that Teddy MAY be back again next season...if that happens, take the best OT at 8 and build smartly. Or cut Teddy, clear the salary this season, and start Grier.
