  1. I don't think that he plays there again...could be wrong, but I think that bridge is burned to ashes. Were I him, first I'd want a good team...don't mean with a winning record...just a well run team. Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Indy (but that is interdivision) I certainly wouldn't want to go to a badly run team...like Carolina, Miami, WFT, Jets, Jags, Philly, etc... That said, he may need a soft landing spot...he is a little "different"...and Carolina could provide that. I think it's a total longshot unless we are willing to completely sell the farm...and Tepper isn't smart enough not to do that.
  2. I used to think this way, not any longer. If I can't afford to have a child, I'm doing something wrong. Rarely ever hear parents as they age regretting having children...maybe shitty ones do, but I don't keep people like that in my life.
  3. We need to consider who we actually may be up against...who is really vying for his services? Pittsburgh? Indy? New Orleans? Panthers? I'm not sure who all is interested currently...but it does seem that we will likely have the least amount of ammo...unless we are talking about trading veteran players like Moton, CMC, DJ, Burns, etc... Then we have a talent gap similar to what he had in Houston, and a franchise that is being run just as poorly.
  4. That should have been the plan from day 1...but Tepper is too stupid, egotistical, or cheap to do it. We know he's not cheap, so it's ego or stupidity....I think it's a full portion of both to be honest. I don't even care if he attended the games, knew what the mascot was, or even decided he didn't like our motto...Keep Pounding...oh poo...nvm....or if he knew what zipcode the stadium is in...just get the F outta the way.
  5. I'm not claiming it is, just saying that he did, and likely does still have hesitation...or we would have made the deal the moment he was open to coming here. My hunch, the accusations don't match the evidence...we shall see.
  6. Literally, hiring a PI would be hesitation. This doesn't surprise me at all...teams do this ALL THE TIME, they just use a shitty scout as the PI...especially on higher risk players coming out of college.
  7. I have a better one. Step 1: Tepper hires an overly qualified Director of Football Operations...over pay an Ozzie... Step 2: Tepper forgets he owns the team for the next 3 years and moves to Ft. Lauderdale with his pretty wife and decides he's really into bocce ball.
  8. The only thing that may make sense, and it would take Tepper being smart and shrewd....Give up a large amount for Watson, but not push the payment to future picks past this year and possibly next. Get him here, maybe he misses 8 games, maybe 12, but this season is a throw away anyway. Then get a good coach after Rhule is fired next offseason, when it's time to start trying to win. The lawsuits and shame will be behind him. He won't have a shortage of fans in the Carolina's. I don't think this is the plan, but it's the only thing that would make this make sense.
  9. I saw restaurants...but food is going to be a BIG one with inflation where it is, and gas killing folks' budget. Learn to cook good "cheap" food. Instead of buying boneless skinless chicken breast, buy the whole chicken and break it down...1/4 of the price. Learn to cook with rice, dried pasta, lots of cheaper veggies...shop at Food Lion or Wal Mart vs. Publix or The Teet...there is a Piggly Wiggly near me, I get all my meat from them...half price many times. Leftovers are key...roast a whole chicken, I get the dark meat, wife get's the white. She eats a breast, I eat a thigh leg combo....we both have lunch for the next day. Total cost for the chicken...$6.00 Get 4 total meals out of it. Buy an entire pork loin and cut it up and freeze it, you can have roasts, thick chops for grilling, or thin chops for frying, roasting or baking. Get a vacuum sealer if you don't have one.
  10. Your title is asking for dumbest yet to come....at least that's how I read it. IF that's the case, trading our 1st to SF or MN for Jimmy or Cousins. 2nd: Selling the farm for Watson. 3rd: Overpaying for a Tackle in free agency in a strong tackle draft. 4th: Taking a QB at 6.
  11. The attorney involved may have something to do with that.
  12. It sounds to me that there is very little evidence of major wrong doing....at least that's my hunch.
  13. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Force Rhule to dance with the date he brought, no more spending sprees or handing out picks to try to put a band aid on a bullet hole. Play Sam, build the O Line like crazy....go for a QB next year. We will likely have a top 4 selection again...that's when you pounce.

Sorta what I was trying to get at...banks are losers...go work in the mortgage industry, not the banking industry. P.S. we have had a VERY long bull run in the housing and stock markets...and although Covid hit a lot of people hard, the last decade has been a very good one. We all need some cushion...and we need to make sure that we are living below our means heading into the next 10 years.
  15. I mean, to be honest, not many RB's do that get any kind of starter workload. It's going to hurt to see our best player leave the team, however, it's never a great thing when your best player is a tailback. He's one of my favorite players to watch, gonna sting seeing him crush in Buffalo.
  16. Getting ready for a massive mistake...is my hunch.

I'd be pushing for a commission spot if I could, but I have worked that way for almost 20 years...wouldn't ever take a salary or hourly at this point. Good luck man...don't know about the money, but SECU is usually hiring, may can just be a placeholder for you for a while.

No, he needs a job, I'm in that industry, was trying to see if I could help at all...not trying to get him to do anything. I'm confused as to why they are laying folks off though, especially given this market...that said, if he only works on re-fi's that could be it. If I were in the lending biz, I'd be working for a Guaranteed Rate, or something like that...eat what you kill type situation...I wouldn't want to be on hourly or a salary.

I meant get on with a big lender here and work from there. Not sure if that's possible, but there is a LOT of money heading this way right now.

Can you do mortgages? If not, how long would it take you to learn or get the cert? If you can write mortgages, you need to be in Wilmington or at least be "out of Wilmington". TONS of new construction...TONS.
  21. Unfortunately, making the best of a bad trade. Hate if for Gilmore, but it's the right thing for the team.
  22. Icky. He is a monster, and his recall and smarts are off the charts. He's not gonna make it to us, and likely goes number 1 if I'm guessing correctly.
