Says a lot. Sounding like them and the Giants are planning on swinging this deal.
-
Was actually thinking about it last night where I thought each could succeed...neither answer was Carolina. But I think that Willis could do well in Pittsburgh, and Pickett in New Orleans. The Saints have been pretty good in the draft for a while now, they have a plan for sure.
-
Depends on how you grade them. IMO it's a move up for Pickett, he actually has quite a few similarities to Brees. Accurate, good mechanics, can manipulate the short and intermediate game, etc... That said, it could be for a Tackle...or they just thing the mid portion of the 1st has a lot of firepower. Didn't they give up two 1's for Armstead 5 years ago?

Getting ready to send it to Philly?
-
In a quick passing offense his size may be negated by speed...if he were to go to a power run team...things may be different. Either way, too small to be a 1st rounder.

New Pod: Mark Schofield breaks down the draft.

Thanks man, will try to listen soon. -
I'd love to go C with our 2nd..... Wait.
-
Same bro...I'll be so frustrated. I want Icky more than any, but would absolutely go for Cross or Neal there...it's a MAJOR hole and need for us, at a top 3 position of importance on the field.

Which is....saying something.

Talk to me about the scouting department

Can I have a seat? I'm in sales and find myself at this table...especially since Covid started....not a good look for a "salesman" but I'm happiest when I'm angry. Kinda like Ron Swanson these days. -
I think that Bowles is likely a better coach than Bruce..I always thought he was overrated personally. Good for Todd.

I have long stated, on this board and to folks who talk to me that at the end of the day, the Panthers have been, and continue to be, one of the dumbest teams in the NFL. I'd bet 20% of my posts on this site have Dumb Team as the final two words. Dumb Team.

Most teams lose because they don't know why they lost.

No, we have a drunk driver behind the wheel of an old K car with a blown head gasket and no headlights. You cannot trust this car, nor the driver any longer...but sure, let's put another couple thousand in her and see if we can squeeze out another 28 miles. -

So you support Signing Teddy and overpaying for him...only to overpay in a trade for Darnold, only to pick up his 5th year option for no reason...now looking to move on again...because. What this staff has proven, is that they A. don't know what they are looking for in a QB, and B. don't know how to evaluate QB's. That's.....not good. Now we want to throw away more asset's for yet another QB while we have no clue if the staff can properly build an offense nor evaluate the position. I don't want Rhule to lose, I want him to dance with the date he brought, and BOUGHT. -
How exactly? Do all "franchise" QB's go in the top 5?

No, we want to stop throwing away assets and money...while continuing to lose...there is a difference. -
"Fans who have been here through both the thick and the thin as Panthers fans, just wanted to say that I am sorry for the way the first 3 years of my ownership have translated to the field. You guys deserve more, and I'm prepared to right this ship, starting right now. We are bringing in "X" person to oversee the football operations and over the coming months you will see less and less of me, and more and more of "X". I have given him the authority to guide this football team as he see's fit moving forward. Thank you for being patient, it will be rewarded" You are correct, not much he can say...but he could actually DO something other than fug up everything he touches.

Just trying to see if a team is in love with one of the QB's they don't want.

Unfortunately, Burns hasn't turned the corner, YGM is still trying to learn how to play, Brown is a run stuffer coming off a sub par year, and the rest are JAG's. Our D Line is not a strength, it's likely a weakness. The only place where we are set is WR, CB, RB. Every other position group needs help.
-
Bingo. If you are a bottom dweller with a terrible cap situation and no long term proven QB....well...that ain't good, it speaks of mismanagement.
-
That's how it's played, if you are a contender. We are not.
-
With no long term QB that we know of worth a damn under contract...this is a shame. Get your QB...that's first, but if there isn't one, build like hell through the draft. Solidify the defense, O Line, and get a couple weapons while keeping your cash on the side...some powder dry. Then, once you have your QB, you have a well built team, a QB under contract long term, and a pile of cash to plug the holes to get ready to have a playoff team. We do the opposite.
